Very nice, the piezo sounds amazing, just like an acoustic the tonal possibilities are endless. I'm just curious Adam, your custom 24 has a toggle switch in this video but a rotary selector In some others. Have you modified it for any particular reason? Thanks
Thanks so much, Steve! Very well spotted! I had it modified about a year ago. The rotary switch was a 5-way, which meant to get from neck to bridge pickups quickly, I had to first click my way through three other positions! And flicking quickly to middle position was always a gamble, if done at speed. I'd often miss it, and it was getting irritating. So the amazing Graham Noden of Noden guitars modified it for me, adding a three-way toggle, and a push-pull coil splitter on the volume (for the neck) and tone (for the bridge). The result is 8 possible tones now, and many of them I never had before. For example, I always wanted to be able to using a single neck coil, and never managed with the old setup. A wonderful modification, that allowed me to get a load more tones, and most importantly, offer me convenience, speed and ease of use! Plus I love the way a toggle switch looks on a humbucking guitar. :)
My very Best E- Friend, so nice to see how much of a virtuoso you have become and grown into Keep doing what you are doing, All I can say is THANK YOU to the Highest.
Wow Keith! So lovely to hear from you - thank you so much for finding me on TH-cam! You are so kind - thank you so much for sticking beside me for so long. You are a wonderful friend, who I am very grateful for. I hope you have been well! :)
Haha thanks, Sacha! They're not sponsoring me at all - although they did send me that shirt a while back... Hope you've been well, and thanks for watching! :)
Fantastic guitar - Fantastic playing - Fantastic review!! Curious to know your signal chain here. Namely the amp, overdrive, and reverb/delay. Thanks!! Just liked your FB page and look forward to following you man - keep it up! -Stephen
I love PRS too buh am a very big fan of GIBSON (les Paul)... Am getting convinced already about this PRS... I've being encouraged by your covers @adam and am soon coming out with my own... I hope to feature Slash, joe satriana and u(Adam) on one of tracks someday....
tsw pedals I can't wait either - I can only thank you for your patience with me, Trevor! Promise you, as soon as I get a window to make some videos (hopefully in December), yours is the first on my list! Hope you've been well! From watching all the amazing pedal updates, it looks like TSW is making an excellent name! :)
WOW! I absolutely love that guitar and the brand! I began to love it because of my idol, Carlos Santana! Thanks for a great video and please play that more (especially Santana)!
My story exactly - Santana is my inspiration and helped me love PRS, too. I'll definitely look at doing more Santana videos. I only ever did two, and those were both a very long time ago now! Thank you for your support! :)
Thanks so much - glad you found it useful! As soon as I get my hands on another model, I'll be sure to review it! They are superb guitars! Thanks for the support! :)
Great vocabulary and great tone Adam... Does it have a good single coil type of sound? I need the 3 essentials settings for my one man show [SC, HB and Acoustic] At the moment I'm leaning towards the Line 6 Dream Rig [JTV69, HD500x/L2T] for options galore but I know the PRS is way above in quality so I'm hesitant which to choose for my specific setting. thanks...
I will say that, at this current point in time, that's the one thing it doesn't do. But since it's such a versatile instrument (that piezo is unreal), it's worth getting it, and having it modified with coil taps! I have a Custom 24, and I wasn't happy with the single coil sounds that it gave straight out of the factory. I took it to Graham Noden on Denmark Street, and he modded it for me - the custom 24 I have now has the equivalent tonal options of the PRS 408 guitars. That's 8 sounds! You could have the same thing done to a P22, and then you'd have 8 electric sounds, on top of the straight piezo and be able to blend those 8 to your taste with the piezo using the blend option. It's a very, very good choice. I'm not just saying it, I do genuinely think it's a superb option for any musician who needs one guitar to do a ton of things. On top of all these options, you essentially have a beautiful, 10-top Custom 22 American made PRS electric. A great guitar in its own right! Hope that helped a bit! :)
Amazing review, amazing performance man... Really loved your style, thanks for all the effort making this video!
good job, mate!
"Educational and entertaining. Adam Lee takes guitar edutainment to the next level. I like it. I like it a lot." 5 stars.
