Marginal gains: I did my BS and MS in engineering and currently doing my PhD in chemistry right now, and this is one of the most important concepts, alongside the theory of constraints. Theory of Marginal Gains is about optimising every step little by little and seeing what comes out of it. It's like compound interest. And the theory of constraints reminds us that the priority of improvement sits on the weakest link, so focus most energy there.
Systems over goals: Same thing, rather than trying to hit a yield in my reactions, I should instead try to focus on the setup, building the mechanisms up to do what I want them to do. The yield goal is the result.
Subtraction: This is a big one. As a graduate student, you have fifteen things happening at once. You need to be able to throw things out, put things on the backburner, and sometimes straight up refuse an assignment.
Reading: This one goes without saying. If you don't keep your mind sharp by reading, taking in new info, practising your comprehension, you'll languish.
Self-Reinventiton: Also this one. Learning to find what works, and what doesn't. Every project requires self-reinvention.

#5 Reinvention = good point about it NOT about changing one’s core current identity but pivoting in a faced-paced world

Some successful investment strategies have limited lifespans, while others are the same throughout history. Three thousand years ago King Solomon wrote, "Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it." (Prov 13:11) Seems like the tortoise philosophy is a winner through the ages!

I love listening to your advise. One thing I have trouble with is listening about American Presidents... As soon as you bagan talking about American Presidents, I couldn't even follow along anymore and I had to turn the video off.... Please be aware of this in the future. This is the reason that I didn't hit the Subscribe button today.

Is there not a direct contradiction in this? Firstly you suggest small, incremental gains to better yourself rather than going all out on new ideas…. Then you suggest we “adopt a mindset of constant reinvention” and cite an American footballer player, turned Wrestler, turned actor as an example. It’s hard to square those two opposing ideas.
I still like your content though…. There’s usually some good food for thought in each of your videos. 👍🏻

So tell me again how simplifying my portfolio makes sense? Why you suggested bonds? It all been a loser! The Wall Street rip off. I'm tired of the day-in, day-out loses.
