I am in love especially with the North and just being curious what you do if the situation becomes to uncomfy... just moving to another province for a few weeks?
From what I've read you can do the 180 day extension once per entry. Meaning you get stamped in for 180 days upon entry, then can do one 180 extension before you have to leave and come back. So only one border run per year is required basically.

Just got to get used to working until 11pm. Might ask your advice if there's any good places to work out of :)

Not really. If you're thinking of staying long-term, nothing beats the convenience of Elite. Guaranteed 20 years stay, no hassle, they open a bank account for you, additional perks. Besides convenience you're confident you'll be able to stay for 20 years, no problems. You don't have that with DTV... different products for different needs
You can technically say 3 years consecutively on this priced Elite visa 5 years are given, then you can apply for LTR permit or investment visa and renew every year and stay indefinitely. DTV isn't the holy grail end of the day it is just a visa. It is not LTR and also you will always be a foreginer and never truly be thai. So unless you want to live trouble free and buy a house and call it a day DTV is not that visa. So you can also get DTV then apply investor visa and call it a day as well. So it could be a way to LTR visa but on its own its just a visa just like business or work or education visas.

This visa is amazing. My 1 year ed visa just ended and debating trying to get this one. Although I think I'm going to go for 1 more year and wait for all the visa agents and embassies to find those classic Thailand work arounds since I don't exactly meet the requirements with just investing online.

So we basically have to exit the country every 180 days, to "break" the stay length, and then re-enter to get a new 180 day allowance (barring one exemption in the 5 year preiod). Does it matter how long we exit for? For example, can we just got to a neighboring country for 1-2 days, and then re-enter straight away for a new 180 day stamp? Also, cost is 10,000 Baht for anyone wondering, which is about £230 or $300.
So if I get this DTV visa and I stay for the six months then I can just leave the country and re-enter for another six months versus doing the extension. Am I understanding correctly as you can only do one extension so for example, year one I stay for six months and I do the extension that gives me another six months so at the end of that total 12 month period. That's how it works with most long term visas you can only extend them one time a marriage, retirement, etc. Some comments are saying you can extend each entry on this one so yes, theoretically you could stay in the country a year at a time before leaving. It's worth trying to clarify though. Worst case you'd have to leave every 6 months.

I applied DTV Visa twice I showed medical invitation and appointment letter, I visit the hospital every month for acute DVT in my legs consulation but both times they reject me and said take medical tourist visa? what a joke.. they don't mention anything what type of medical treatment just write medical treatment or invitation then deny you. I argue with embassy and then they threaten me with laws. Then hospital told me DTV is not issued for medical visa. Inquired numerous embassies all over the world no on replies. So I got the impression same is for other soft power activites, they will tell you to take education visa and reject. So the only one getting approved for DTV Visa are poor remote workers. So maybe they think someone who can work remotely is apparently rich and will spend and contribute to economy more than someone wanting medical treatment and spending 3000 per hospital trip? The only way DTV will be available for soft power activities is if they abolish the education and medical visas completely. So perhaps this is a start? Who even knows? 😂😂😂

TM47 (90 day reporting) is not required for the DT Visa according to the Thai consulate. I have the DT Visa (switched from a Business Visa).

No, there is an education/study visa for that
