- A showcase on the Urbis/Schreder ZX3 warm up. Located on a roundabout in Tamworth UK, This Urbis ZX3 street light lantern uses a 150W HPS (sodium) SON-T bulb. This lantern is one of my favourites so I included some facts on both the ZX3 and ZX2.
If you're new here, and you don't know who I am, here's a short introduction: Hi there! I am Leo, a street light collector based in the midlands, United Kingdom. I collect and restore street lanterns and show off my collection in my informative videos! I aim to introduce more people to the very rare hobby of streetlight collecting as it is a very interesting and unique hobby. What you find here is unique content that can not be found anywhere else so stay tuned. In videos I also show off my collection of street lamp fixtures.

I recently started watching your channel and I gotta say your videos are high quality! Regarding the Urbis ZX3, it’s one of my favourite SON lanterns due to its perfect proportions and great optics, plus they look pleasing on almost every column. Definitely a nice lantern alongside the Philips SGS 203 and the WRTL MRL 6. I’m dying to have them.
I love the philips sgs 203s, theres a road here lit with a mix of sgs 203s and traffic visions, two of my favourite lanterns :)
I seen these lanterns when I got to Lucan
Firstly Urbis I always thought it was pronounced as “u-rbis” meaning I’ve been saying it wrong all this time and secondly I have seen the zebra bowl ones on crossings with a new build crossing in 2017 however it was there temporarily as in 2019 it was replaced with Urbis Ampera LED’s, wasn’t there also a Urbis ZX4 which some described as a chunky square lantern
Correction the ZX3 (MC3 or ACM 3) are big than the ZX2 (MC2 or ACM 2)
Yooo it's nice to see that there's someone else from the same county as me, mind if I could ask. Do you have one of the most (well was) common light in housing estates well known as The Urbjs Altra 2?
Nice video btw ^^
Not yet but I'm going to ask when they come to replace the ones here soon :)
Honestly, I plan on getting one myself too, my area in Staffordshire still has a bunch of the Classic lights, sure their are some Holophanes S-Lines and B-Maxs in some streets but my estate still has some of the older lights.
@@LeoLampposts oki, tbh i highly doubt i'll be able to get my hands on a urbis altra 2 myself tbh since they tend to replace lights when im in collage.
@@JDOSDALMATIAN I'll can see if i can get 2 of them so i can give you one of them, very beautiful lanterns
@@LeoLampposts alrighty ^^ may i ask, do ya use discord?
Nice video of the warm up!
Quick pointer: The ZX2 isn't the ZX3s predecessor, but rather its smaller brother. The smaller ZX2 is better suited for running SON 70, 100 and 150W lamps, wheras the ZX3 is intended for 150, 250 and 400W lamps. And all the deep bowls are plastic, not glass.
Oh awesome, thanks for telling me! Hopefully when i buy one in a few weeks i should be able to learn even more about it and how it works :)
Happy to help :) A ZX3? Wow, good luck finding the space for it! They are very big, imagine 3 or 4 2600s in a cluster; very heavy (especially the high power with magnetic gear); and very dirt tight. Still, with all that, they're nice lanterns.
Like you said, buy now find space later aha
Oh yes I did say that, didn't I? ha
Btw, did you get my newest comment on the 2600 thread?
Just checked and i dont see one, sometimes youtube can be weird with comments so you can just paste it here if need be :) (if it still doesnt come through it might be due to youtube itself)
the street light on front of my home looks like a bit this but more squary a bit
Might be a philips sgs203
