The idea of the Backroom is so good. It uses things that terrify a lot of people, even if they don't realize it (specifically level 0) bland colors, bright lights, loneliness. And things that people do know they're afraid of, like mold, monsters, or (in Matpat’s case) moisture. It's basically the perfect punishment for anyone and the most horrifying.

the backrooms always has at least 1 factor that scares someone.

Bro, I was lucid dreaming that I was in the backrooms couple of days ago. It was exactly the same. An endless loop of 80s like empty office room with disgusting moist on the carpet and loud buzzing lights. There was nothing, no monsters or anything. I was very well aware I was dreaming so I wanted to take some time and explore but I got more and more anxious so I eventually woke up. I'm still ticked off by that. Crazily enough, my friend who sits next to me in school had the exact same thing happened to her. I'm still not sure what to make out of all this.

I had a dream about the backrooms too, but mine was a bit different. I was on level 1. There was A/C. I was just walking around looking for an exit door until I saw this group of beautiful women from a distance. They just stood there and smiled. The second I waved and said hello, they all opened their mouths screaming with their eyes wide open showing sharp teeth and began to charge at me viciously. They had to have been vampires or something lol. Anyway, so as they were charging at me, I panicked, turned around, and this door appeared that said “safe area” above it. I hurry up and open the door, and that’s when I woke up.

Well, it's said that there's two ways to enter the backrooms.
The most common one is to no-clip into them, and the other is to get inside through a dream.
Be careful though, it's said that those who enter through dreams and don't find the exit quickly nor no-clip at the same place they entered the backrooms, will be stuck in a comma until they do. So...yeah, be careful.
I don’t recommend trying to no-clip, you could go into level “you cheated” which is one of the most dangerous levels with little- EXTREMELY LITTLE chance of surviving. Level “you cheated” you go to by well, trying to no-clip home or to earth, or any other way of what the back rooms think is cheating. I don’t exactly know if no-clipping to another room will get you there, but just- I wouldn’t risk it.

Kind of feels like there are too many entities in Level 2 alone. I think it's scarier if there are fewer entities and they are less understood - the unknown is always freakier. But sure, if you must have them, shouldn't you save some for other levels, especially if there are hundreds or thousands of them?
Love backrooms. Its fun to see how people expand on it- I know im personally a purist to the 'empty and lifeless' version of the backrooms- but seeing how people build on it is so amazing.
I keep seeing "Backrooms" content EVERYWHERE and I'm loving every minute of Backrooms lore I can get.

The majority of videos on TH-cam don't follow the actual lore of the backrooms. Broogle (however you spell it) describes most of it pretty accurately
the scariest part of the backrooms is that nearly nobody can completely be sure or agree on all the levels past level 0
And if you leave the first room the seconds even worse
They either die in level 0 or the back rooms have an infinite number of levels making it impossible to escape without noclipping yourself out.

If I was stuck in the Backrooms, I would spend the rest of my days in level 1. It sounds so wholesome.

What I'd like to see is kinda like LSD Dream Emulator's randomly generated stuff, and how you get to switch dreams by touching stuff (with the frequency of the lore of the backrooms course). Id love to just get lost in the backrooms in the deep levels and discovering new levels

I'm not well versed in the lore but giving all this hope and the supplies makes the story vastly less scary. The hopelessness and the unknown is what made it terrifying
theres no way food and supplies and guns ect would just be conveniently placed in the backrooms.
And highly doubt there would be any communities and that many other people.

Well the backrooms is very complicated. In fact creating the same feeling you get from the photos is difficult to put into a game. None of the games I’ve played give me that unique dread I get from the photos, they just give me normal horror game fear

The backrooms is the most interesting creepy pasta I’ve seen in the last 10 years…..I have a playlist called “backrooms” and I love reading on it
I had a very vivid dream of myself, friends and my mother lost in the back rooms many years ago, I was about 13 at the time. Obviously back then I had never heard of the back room concept but the resemblance was uncanny. There were strange creatures abducting my friends and my mother. I was in a state of panic and I could never find my way out.
I never remember any of my dreams except for this one, I'm 25 now and still remember it vividly. So naturally when I found out about the backrooms on the internet my stomach dropped, it was one of those moments you really question if we live in a simulation 🤐.

Honestly, minus the all the monsters, The Backrooms doesn’t seem that bad. Just a super big, almost nostalgic infinite area where you can just chill sounds pretty good.

tip: in the backrooms, the laws of physics are defied. so try punching a wall! if your hand goes through, run into that wall as fast as you can and you will noclip into a different level.

The backrooms haves it's own Wifi, Which is why people can communicate with others outside the Backrooms. But using the WiFi makes it so that entities can find you easier

My Theory For The Backrooms: The backrooms is a place out of the bounds of reality. And because it is right next to reality, it has some things from reality in it (lights, carpet, wallpaper, etc.). There is a very interesting topic in physics where an object of smaller mass than another object with greater mass has a very low chance of being able to phase through the object of greater mass. For example, a soccer ball may be able to phase through a large brick wall. If we take this topic and make the small object a human and make the bigger object the fabric of reality, it would make humans able to phase through the fabric of reality and go into the backrooms. Also, this topic in physics is the reason you have such a low chance of getting into the backrooms.

This "backrooms" concept seems recent. But I have this very vivid memory of when I was a child (4 or 5). My mother told me to go to the bathroom in this section of an apartment complex I was in. As I entered the building I remember feeling uneasy (probably because my mother didn't come with me). While I was in there it was all painted in this beige color. It was a seemingly endless hallway. Every door I opened was a bathroom but it was occupied. Every time I opened a door there was another person (usually sitting on the toilet) yelling at me and telling me "GET OUT OF HERE!" understandably. Well, at a certain point after realizing that I was not going to be able to get to a bathroom and being yelled at by other people I started to get scared. I ran and ran, opening doors to find more people, begging for my mom and asking if anyone has seen her. And then eventually I ran down the hallways that lead to other hallways that lead to more hallways. Panicked and running, eventually I found the glass door I came in from. But, It was dark. It was night time and my mom was sitting there on the steps of the building entrance waiting for me and I remember being angry at her "why did you leave me in there!" Then she replied "You just went in". I was in there for HOURS.

I used to play Doom many times over, attempting to make friends with the demons. I couldn't even make one, so I moved onto Hexen and Heretic, but with no luck there, either. Couldn't even find a nice coffeehouse just to sit and schmooze with any monster. Very disappointing, story of my life.

I would've loved to get personal with at least ONE demon, tell him it doesn't have to be this way, hostility is never the answer. Ask about his family, where he's from, what he likes to do in his spare time, does he have a hobby, etc. I might have even told him I'm gay, I hope that doesn't offend him. Who knows? We might've wound up dropping our weapons and having a steamy roll or two in the hay! I could have even become the Messiah in one of these first-person shooter extravaganzas! There are different backrooms canons
Examples are the original canon which only has level 0, the Backrooms wiki which has more than 999 levels and entities, the limspace wiki which has only
Around 30 levels and entities and finally the Kane pixels canon which you already know
There are some good/ safe levels in the backrooms too? The crimson forest level 9.1 is pretty safe if you can make it to the outpost. Level 4 is pretty safe as well.

This would actually make an insane movie. THE BACKGROOMS: THE ONLY THING TO FEAR, IS FEAR ITSELF
You can actually escape the back rooms through level 3999, The Promised Land, or level memories.
On level 3999, you have to walk towards the sunset until you see a piece of paper with tasks written on it. Complete those tasks, and one of the glass doors will open, and you can exit the backrooms through there.
On The Promised Land, there is a corridor which says “exit”. Walk through there at the exact time you entered the back rooms, and you can exit.
On level memories, you have to find the earth exhibit. There are entities there called “guides” which can help you find it.
Level 3999 has no entities.
The Promised Land has lots of friendly entities such as partypoopers.
Level memories has a few dangerous entities.
Search about these levels to find out what they look like or what happens there.
Someone needs to make a game about the backrooms and have it be a RNG type game like The Binding of Isaac.
You cant just make tens of thousands of levels that are huge and code in all the things you can do it will be a little bit of storage to download aswell

To me, I see the backrooms serve as a physical example of apeirophobia, which is the fear of infinity.
I'm curious to know how others would survive the backrooms, but my strategy is to use Level 11 to get to Level -18 and stay there or make it to level ! and then get that overwith, then go to level 551(Whichever 55X level is the checkpoint one), then make my way to 3999 and stay there forever.

@@Yellowcrocss running 10 km can be very tiring and you'll run out of energy and you get dehydrated and possibly die if you run.
Wretches aren't fast at all, they're super slow. They can take a punch though, their skin is really crusty, so they can resist a lot of damage.
There's a log for when MEG just started documenting them about this one random guy who found a radio, that encountered a wretch. He said it moved really slow, but he and some other guys could defeat it with some improvised spears.

One thing a about level 2 that I saw on Broogli the hall you spawn in, you have to stay in that one if you leave it, ONLY on Extreme cases come back there as soon as possible, but is it so important bcs the spawning hall contains the exits of level 2

The thought of accidentally no clipping out of reality would drive me insane even if I did escape
Here’s my theory: the back rooms was made by the government and they bought thousands of miles to create it on an unknown area that is highly classified and put all of their failed projects into the back rooms. Also known as the entities, and the back rooms isn’t infinite it just messes with your mind so much you go insane and sometimes you can go deaf. I recommend giving up once you get there since if you don’t die by all of the entities you probably won’t be able to find enough food to sustain you. Also it would take years to find a way to noclip back to the front rooms, Also known as earth. There are thousands of levels
This looks like a paragraph but if you can read it only really takes 40 seconds. Also this theory isn’t confirmed therefore there’s a chance it’s not true.
1. How would they make a structure thousands of miles long without anybody noticing it?
2. People noclip into the backrooms, does the US somehow have teleportation technology?
3. This also happens outside the US
Maybe they found a space between dimensions which is just there to separate dimensions. Then used it to work on projects using teleportation technology they already had.

I was talking about a recurrent dream with my daughter. I tell her i dream frequently about a building where i'm all alone. A big one. The elevator take me to different levels. Some of them are hallways with infinite abandoned rooms. Windows are broken, air entry with force between them. the carpet is red, wet, torn and stained. This level is in the day. A lot of light.
