I play Tord Gustavsen's albums in endless loops and never get tired of them. I played one in my car for 5 days on a trip across Europe and never got tired of it!
JE VOUS ÉCRIT, DE SALVADOR-BA. Quel quartet merveilleux.
I'm recently exposing myself to more Jazz, and this is the kind I like! Textured, mellow, and masterfully executed! It needn't be all a cacophony of virtuosity!
Superbly performed Jazz. I have always listen to one of the Tord Gustavsen recordings either at home or in the car. This fascinating music never gets boring and the virtuosity of the performers is outstanding. If you are not a Jazz friend here is a good chance to love Jazz forever.
I was there that night...what an amazing concert, what an amazing music! The start of the video make me feel at the same I was at the star of the concert. I was moved. Thank you for posting it
I am committed to serious and deep music, but even I know people do not become better from just being into this kind of music. Met many many bad truly despicable people who LOVE ECM, et al.
Agreed, but people would be at least more sophisticated if they listened to jazz regularly :) This music requires attention and actual listening as opposed to what's usually playing on the radio.
I saw these guys a couple of years ago at Oloron -Saint Marie in France-a wonderful experience. This terrific upload is most welcome because it brings back so many memories of a beautiful evening-thank you.
I remember when I heard Changing Places (www.discogs.com/Tord-Gustavsen-Trio-Changing-Places/master/187916) reviewed (www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1444914) on NPR. I was in my car. As soon as I got home, I ordered the CD. This music moves me.
Anyone know of live concerts coming up this year from the Quartet? I recommend Espen Eriksen Trio-they are playing live at Band on the Wall, Manchester 26 May 16.
+Dan Shorer that's jazz but it sounds like chamber music, so the audience may be influenced by the "climate". I didn't know this quartet, they are brilliant and the music is magnificent. Thank you for post it
The performance was at Ravello - one of the most beautiful spots on the Amalfi riviera. The high priced tickets and the difficulty to reach the place make for an elitist and sometimes rather cold audience. But - the performance was so unique, that Tord himself told me afterwards that listening to the recording hew was surprised at how good he played...
This is beautifully played, spiritually satisfying music but as Jean Cocteau famously said,"There's nothing as boring as good taste ." I have difficulty following the melodies at times and it just seems at times to be rather languorous.

Music with the thought in head. Hysterical dissonance is not seen. Thank you.
I'm exceptionally glad that this mesmerizing jazz is so latent in Christian atmosphere, it can be played in my funeral for all I care.

Takk!!!

5,700 views? This is joke, right? This is as brilliant as I've heard Tord's gear. Thanks, Dan. Top man.
+Craig Thomas if more people could listen such music the world would be a better place :)
+ReberBlopp :)

ALEJANDRO DEL RIO CHILE..EXTRAORDINARIO, SUTIL, PROFUNDO, ARMONIOSO ....AMIGABLE
Brilliant music!!! Such subtle power and depth. They seem to be performing to an audience that just doesn't seem to get it????
Full delight !!!

Encanto total y calidez que no parece noruego. Felicitaciones!
Love it all.
Gracias por compartir, excelente .

I think the very epicenter of the concert is Tord's solo in the middle of "on every corner" at 31:15
Tore Brunberg sounds gorgeous on the curved soprano.
Boss.
tord is so much boss
genius
Brilliant but what limp applause from the audience.
philistines...
+Dan Shorer that's jazz but it sounds like chamber music, so the audience may be influenced by the "climate".

Indeed Brilliant! I agree the audience response is rather uninspired. It makes no sense...the music is so deeply powerful!!!

Thanks...But that seems rather sad were the audience is concerned.
