In 22:17, this is pure Knopfler, a great and pleasant surprise to come across this lick here, the creativity of a genius has no limits, here he does something seemingly simple (it's not easy to execute), but it's beautiful and effective in the same intensity! I love these unpredictable things Knopfler does, they're his cards up his sleeve!
Wow!!! I love this concert! Great version of Wild West End, one of my favorite DS songs. And Mark sounds very emotional in Where Do You Think You’re Going.
No, in "Down to the waterline" is not a problem of the P.A. !!! Wireless technology in 1979 was in its infancy and what you hear is radio interference superimposed on the same frequency as Mark's guitar transmitter!
@@Whatdahell8789 nothing easier! the first wireless systems of the seventies used frequency modulation (FM) as signal transmission... so bad luck meant that that evening Mark's tx/rx was set to the same FM frequency as some local radio station! small problem that can be solved by changing the frequency of Mark's bodypack transmitter and his receiver usually located near the stage mixer!
Mark sounds very emotional in Wild West End, too. Especially when he sings “Stop talking, I want to marry you. “Just wondering if this concert was shortly after Holly Vincent broke up with him on the phone?
Because it was written by David Knopfler and Mark wasn't ever going to let anything get onto a Dire Straits record that wasn't his material! Shame really, I'd love to have heard a recorded version of it. (There are better live versions of it than this one too.)
Mark Knopfler, la classe é indiscutibile, virtuosismi fantasiosi,Stratocaster suono unico e irripetibile, peccato che da solista l'abbia abbandonata per la Gibson, ciao
I’ve listened to a lot of 79 bootlegs but this one is incredible!! ❤ so funky!!
In my humble opinion- IT DON’T GET NO BETTER😊

How does a radio come there?

@@mikegriggs442 Well, if that’s the case, then that really sucks.
@@gregm17 It sounds too much like "Sultans"

Imagine the creative tension when you've a Vauxhall Conference songwriter in the band pushing to play their songs. No offence David.
Twisting by the pool non era uscita nel 1981/82 insieme a if had you?
