There is a small error around 5:40 seconds in, countries do provide money to the WEF, Canada directly sent $3 million in 2022 (reported). Javier Milei perfectly synthesizes the thinking of millions of people. Since Milei appeared on Argentine television, young people were able to spin common sense in libertarian ideology. Little by little we woke up our parents and grandparents and here we are. Let’s hope we’re right and that, as Milei is doing well, he doesn’t end up disappointing us. I hope his synthesis of libertarianism can reach all of humanity
All of what Milei said was what’s already in the id of many of the businessmen at Davos, they’re just so caught up in BS greenwashing, redwashing, and every other kind of “washing” that they forgot about it.
Regarding "WEF isn't doing much to combat conspiracy theories about them": For a while they had a page up that was all about implementing a worldwide social credit system using a cryptocurrency (they even mentioned China by name, though not the associated "Black Mirror" episode). They were sufficiently out of touch to not realize how people would react to it until they looked at the public response (at which point they took the page down).
The one thing that annoys me about groups like this are the blatant hypocrisy on display. They talk about climate change and making the world more sustainable etc and yet attendees fly in in private jets and the event is sponsored in part by oil and gas companies. They say it's a forum for discussing economic ideas and yet have closed door meetings. There will always be suspicion around events like this because they are not always transparent. It's as I always say, 'it's not what is said in public that you need to worry about, it's what is not said in public that you need to worry about' or 'it's not what they tell you, it's what they don't tell you that you should worry about'.
If you actually knew what is discussed in the closed door meetings, and between whom, you would not be so light hearted and cavalelier about the whole thing. You would actually be pretty worried.

Our current government's policies directly align with the WEF's stated goal for 2030 and 2050, like in many countries this affects municipal, provincial and federal levels of governments. Little by little we woke up our parents and grandparents and here we are. Let’s hope we’re right and that, as Milei is doing well, he doesn’t end up disappointing us. I hope his synthesis of libertarianism can reach all of humanity
A disturbing thought. And that there are people who think Milei isn't an elitist bootlicker, is disturbing.

They want to maintain the status quo while also accelerating it by taking more powers and roles from government(which are at least nominally beholden to the general citizenry) and replacing them with corporations and NGOs. My favorite bit is how they they use language to try and manipulate the failings of the capitalist dystopia with the idea that they're all brought on by "shareholder capitalism" (actually them) which they spin as a some kind of *recent* development. Their solution is what they call "stakeholder capitalism" (which will also be actually them) . The whole point of the idea is not actually changing anything except further expanding the roles of corporations and NGOs, who happen to be the primary "stakeholders" in this arrangement as per their own fine print.
