Ahrex - Simple Banana Tubefly - tied by Martin Votborg

The Banana Fly - originally tied by swedish flyfisher and tyer Mikael Andersson has a gained large success all over scandinavia. The dark rusty olive/yellow colours suits the slightly coloured rivers in scandinavia very well, and a big numbers of salmon has been tricked by this nice pattern. In this video we have teamed up once again with Martin Votborg from #MinFlue - and this time he demonstrates his own more simple version of the Banana Tubefly.

Nice! Could you please ex[lain what is the main idea of adding US tube for weigth? I mean it replaces the turbo disc or just for high water level?

Thanks 🙂 It is for adding weight to the fly in strong current or deep waters. Before the discs and cones were added to tubes, the weighte tubes were used and still is if the tyer wants an slimmer and more elegang styled tubefly 🙂
