I am soooo excited to share today's project with you! At least a year ago (maybe two) I stumbled across a beautiful card online called a "Bookatrix" and I was completely smitten with it. However, it used book dies that we don't carry, but I was determined to recreate this card on my own.
I searched online for more ideas and different ways to make a bookatrix and I tweaked it using our Stampin' Up! products. I also converted the original large card design for our standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" cards, so that they could fit inside our envelopes.
After some trial and error, I was thrilled with my final version of this open book easel card and I've been itchin' to share this with YOU! Well, wait no longer my sweet friends, my demonstration - with lots of card samples - is finally ready! I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed creating it for you!

These are absolutely incredible ! I think my favorite is the butterfly with the flowers, or maybe Grace's Garden. No, the one you demonstrated. I can't decide! They are all fabulous. Well presented - simple directions - easy to follow - easy to listen to voice - endless possibilities - small for minimal cost mailing.
My mother directed the music in our Sacrament meetings and in our Primary meetings for many, many years.
For Mother's Day I am using this design and will make her a HYMN BOOK. I have even found and saved several embellishments for her card.
READY - SET - GO!!! Thank you so much for all the work you did to prepare for this tutorial. It is in my CARD file on my computer to allow for quick pull up and follow ------ each time I make one (there WILL be more).

April 26, 2020 Update: THANK YOU ALL for your wonderful comments! I am so happy you're all enjoying this tutorial! Regarding mailing these cards: since making this video, I have mailed these cards using standard size envelopes, and the recipients received them perfectly and they weren't squished. I did have to pay a bit more in postage, but not too much. ❤

Congratulations! These are lovely cards and your technique is innovative and yet easy to achieve. I love books and have many book-loving friends so I can see the potential to get a lot of use. I make cards for my church, too, and think Bible-themed cards would be great using your technique. Thank you!!!
Absolutely stunning. Loved all of your cards Tina and the simple technique which means I don't have to buy special dies. A blessing when you are on a pension. Hope you're all coping with the pandemic in Canada and are keeping safe and well. We're doing well here in Australia but of course, we're all missing our families and friends, but if everyone does the right thing, we'll all get back to our normal lives much sooner. Take care.

One absolutely superb card!!
I stumbled up on this unique card by accident. I was born with a book in my hand so my life swirls around books, reading and music. Everyone will now receive a book card at least twice a year. for me, best card ever!

Hi Tina,from England,this is so spooky , I have a book die that I had never used,so decided this evening to try it,and was really disappointed ,as it just didn`t cut how I expected it to,so I binned it .
