What makes Ari a unicorn is that he will ask the questions we need to know.
On a possibly unrelated side note, I did something on SoundCloud a few years ago that was rewarding and even made some money. I released an album in the "give away your music era" and made every song free to download. I then made announcements on all of my socials that basically said "Screw Apple Music and Spotify and their half penny streaming royalties" and gave my Venmo on SoundCloud and did a "donate what you want" to download as many songs as you want. It actually worked out pretty decent.
I have followed Tracey since the Twitch episode and he is great. It is time to level the playing field and I feel like Tracey genuinely is working toward that. I appreciate him and you Ari for the work you do. It is insane that it is 2023 and artists are still getting the shaft.

First Fan and Musio (I think) have actually worked a bit for me already. Not massively, but I only have a dozen followers on Soundcloud but my latest uploads are getting hundreds of streams. So, thank you Soundcloud.
I started using SoundCloud and is very fun to listen, discover music, and feel engaged with other artists. It’s actually a beautiful thing to have a platform where your creativity connects with the inspiration inside others.

Not trying to be funny, but I didn't know Soundcloud still existed as a viable... music source, or income source. Maybe I'm just disenchanted because I remember "the good old days," and haven't given it a good second look.
Soundcloud really needs to find it's footing again as a leading "place of discovery," where the coolest, newest, rarest artists can be found...
I'm glad Ari gave them some reality checks, I'm not sure they were expecting that lol...

I have a silly question and I'm fairly sure this isn't possible, but, is it possible to have two publishers for the same music? TuneCore plus Soundcloud?
Do I have to distribute through SoundCloud in order to have fan powered royalties?
No. I believe now you can monetize directly with SC without using distribution to Spotify, etc.
Which credit cards are supported for soundcloud subscription plan upgrade?

Can we have the likes back up front? Because I had 2 likes on a tune I made.... I'm proud of that, because getting that many likes on YT is nearly impossible!😂
Wow if all the dsp adopt this model and record labels get on then record labels are going to be breaking their necks to signs artist thus making the platform more valuable if they adopt. Salute to SoundCloud and their team for this innovation. This will be a game changer! Look out for my music @CurtisSmoove #SetTheTone
Sorry Ari, but music streaming did not rescue the music industry and when the profits from music are compared to inflation and the value of the fiat currency, it is still massively plummeting as illustrated by people like @circa from @indeprenuer.
