Great reaction! I know when I try to pick a church to go to I automatically pass by the bigger, more expensive looking ones, and devote my time and effort to smaller churches with no denominational ties. It takes more faith to believe there's not a higher power than actually believe there is

To be honest, all the issues he has with "religion" or "God" he really has with Christianity. As a former Christian, I asked the same questions and it led me to Atheism and then accepting Islam after 16 years of research and experience. In Islam we don't have any of these issues - there are no pastors to forgive our sins, elites are still Muslims and not just poor people, God isn't white or black he's beyond time and space and the reason there are many religions is that there are many interpretations of God in the world but the only evidence-based faith is Islam. Also, this entire life is viewed as a test and not as something that will last and so suffering is built into this life. Without bad, there is no good. Children are born with the belief in God as well and that belief matches perfectly with Islam. All the other "religions" have usually been changed by people or they are too polytheistic in nature to make sense or simply they have no evidence for their claims.
You should react to "The meaning of Life - Muslim spoken word" - it would really give a perfect overview of Islam :)

I'm not religious in any shape or form I've had a 30 year plus military career and seen too much that made me think there cannot be a G+D, then all the religious preachers, ministers, priests etc who abuse kids why would a higher level allow that.
We'll never know. I wish we could know one way or the other! 😫

I don't consider myself a very "religious" person, but I do believe in something. I went to a friends Baptist church, went to catholic school. I think Maybe Jesus was real, but the bible is a wonderful storybook that taught people right from wrong and how to live in society. If there is a god, and a heaven , I hope I am welcomed not because of the book I read or the prayers I said, but the good, honest, decent man that I am. You are a good woman, your Canadian roots show.
Thank you Kevin. Despite how crazy Canada has gotten, they're are so many wonderful people there! I often wonder about "the meaning of it all" as well. There is so much in the Bible that is taken literally, but is really allegory. And, like Dax, I don't trust that a man, taught by another man... etc etc etc, have the all knowing secrets to what any of it truly means. To me, it's about what did you do in your life... not necessarily what "rules" you followed. It's not hard to be a good person. Well, maybe it is for some people. 🤷♀️
@@MrsRealistic Canada isn't that crazy, not nearly as crazy as the US is right now. But I get you, I am not into the "church" either really. My church is the mountains west of Calgary, I go there often as it's only an hour drive, and I can get away and be alone. But as far as the "rules" they are pretty simple. "Do unto others.... " and the 10 commandments. Those I believe in.

And my family can't stand Trudeau. He's a joke and I don't know how he's still in power... well I do... but that's a whole other story lol! I agree, the Golden rule applies to everything.

I don't know if I've seen that or not. The Temptation of Christ is a REALLY intense movie.
