What a lovely video! I love your comments about him, about his willingness and how he listens to you. He's a credit to you. And vice versa. It really looks like a joint effort. I love it that he remembers so much so well. Thank you for sharing. I can't afford the paid for content so I really appreciate what you show us here. Happy New year to you and your lovely family and gorgeous horses.
Oh my life … Chevy’s whiny … that’s too funny! I think he’s telling you that he’s quite aware you’ve been keeping up with the Christmas puddings! 🤣😂🤣 Happy New Year to you and your’s … may it be a great 2025 year, with lots of positive changes ’ to come. You’d never know it’s only been a year ago that you more or less backed him! That’s amazing and goes to show just how important the groundwork truly is! Thanks for sharing! Happy Trails! 🙏🙌✝️✡️❤️
Loved the video ,Steve. Seems Chevy is on his way to follow Nita's hoof prints. I hope this New Year brings peace, joy, love and new adventures to you and your family. "Happy trails ya'll."❤
So lovely to see Chevy training. Fun at the beach too. It brings me joy seeing the horses learning, so that I can learn too. There was a lot of good stuff in the schooling pen.
I’m not even a horse person and I love watching your videos. I used to halter train my pet alpacas. It is so interesting how they share some herd instincts with horses.
Steve, very best channel ever! Any horse in your care is blessed under the heavens. Above all thank you for your kindness that uderlies all you do. St. Francis smile apon You. Blessings to You and Tanya in the year to come and all your family🙂
Steve, I never grow tired of your very succinct and articulate explanations. You literally walk us through the process visually and verbally every step of the way. We/I learn that EVERY movement is communication and therefore counts in my relationship with the animal I'm working with. I can't thank you, Tanya and family enough for this channel. Sending good New Year vibes from Northern Kentucky.
It’s so cool how you can see his tail shift right when you were saying “He’s thinking about it” during your attempt to have him shift his rear with just your body movement. Just a little tweak of the base of his tail at his buttcheeks clearly says from him “I’m getting a signal here.” Just beautiful communication. Love it. 👍🏻😎👍🏻
I just having curious question for Tanya. Obviously you realized that Steve was a good horseman but were you aware of just how great a horseman he is before Charlotte started taping him ? Chevy is such a treasure! I love the relationship each of you have in your family. It’s such a pleasure to see the interactions between you.
Lovely. Watching makes me miss riding. I didn't know about the green ribbon warning, and the rider certainly should have apologized to Charlotte. Glad she's ok. It's wonderful to see Frankie & Chevy both doing so well. Thanks for sharing. Best to you all.
You have trained him well!!! He is soooo good for his age can't wait for him to mature in his body he will be a great looking quarter horse one of my favorite breeds!
There's absolutely nothing better than having a good foundation! (Unless it's a good relationship. One plus one equals a TEN!). Beautiful work. Happy New Year! ♥♥♥ That whinny is very endearing!!
Always gobs of thanks for sharing! I truly appreciate the little teachable moments that you pop in during the videos. All the best to you, Tanya, your lovely family and all your lucky horses. Here’s to Peace for us all in 2025!🎉😊
Watching you and Chevy work together is sooooo satisfying! I sit here with Luna the cat on my lap just loving life when I watch you and your Chevy. ❤ I love your channel ❤
I have a funny story to relate about my boy! He’s a Spanish pre, and I sent to an awful redneck horse starter that I’m still guilty about. Anyway he ended up just not wanting to be ridden. He didn’t do anything bad, no buck or bolt, the occasional rear. I would get on and off him on to my mounting block, so he recognised the halt and the mounting block as relief from the damn rider. He would decide that ‘that’s enough’, time for you to get off, and go rushing up to the mounting block, sidling up expertly for me to get off! So, he loved the stop from my seat, and anything vaguely resembling a mounting block he would sidle sideways to. When he’s frustrated about learning new stuff he stomps his feet in anger! Makes me laugh. He can also stomp at the trot!
Thank you! This session with you describing before and during and why was very helpful to me who didn’t really get any lessons nor much time on horses. I feel like I am learning so much just from your gentle steady expiations from each video you put out. Don’t know if I’ll ever be riding again, but I love the learning anyway! PS… Arnica 200c carried with you can immediately help turn accidents around. Arnica helps reduce bleeding, bruising, swelling, and shock… for getting kicked, falling, etc etc, concussions and strokes, pre and post surgery…. so much. Just one pellet can do the trick. Less is more help, so one pellet taken at most three different times. Good to know about the green ribbon.
Love how you work with and started Chevy. Looking forward to the lessons with your foals! The right way to start and how to deal with their personalities.
What a lovely polite chap he is and although I haven't ridden in decades (and I have forgotten everything) he moves so beautifully I think? I love how kind and polite *you* are to your horses too. Happy New Year and a fantastic 2025 to you and your family. :)
Thanks for a great video. When I see all my horses in the morning, my personal horse is the only one who Winnie’s after I put his food in the corral all the others, Winnie, like their impatient.
This is going to be a great horse, good mind obvious. Hope you film his entire training over this year. This is what we were looking for. You are a GREAT horseman Steve. Thank you and Happy Healthy Prosperous New Year 🎉
@@RachelDugas-hn7ln Thanks for letting me know Rachel I'm only on the main YT channel and I usually watch everything and I'm sure nothing has been mentioned. Very sad but always good to know because we can all learn from good and bad experiences. Axx
❤Chevy is a dream. You are his human. ✨Agree with you on the excessive spinning and slide stops. Unnecessary and not really useful during cattle work. The cutting is my favorite to watch😉…Steve, you are the MASTER. Watching you work blows my mind every time. Elated to see you actually truly care for the horse no matter what breed. ❤
I expect there are a lot of "trained" horses who don't do as well at any age, let alone as a youngster like Chevy! Watching you working with horses is like listening to really good music (George Strait)... just so enjoyable.
Chevvy has turned into a real treasure and a reflection on you Steve. Wonderful!
He’s a tribute to your training and patience. Four year old horses are so often just ridden but here the rider and horse become one. Smashing.
Top-notch training and riding!
You really care about horses and deserve many more subscribers!!
What a calm laid back little guy! Lovely little whinny at the end ❤
What a chill horse at a young age!
Happy NEW year end all the best
Chevy's obviously a 'good doer', often a sign of a horse with a calm nervous system. All best wishes to Steve and family for the coming year. xx
Great video as always, chevy is such a gent, this was a nice change to see you interacting with your own horse, hopefully many more of them, 😉
You must be so pleased with him. A testament to your horsemanship. Also he looks incredibly strong and well muscled.

Chevy is so lovely, watching you both really brings back the feel of me and my beautiful mare and how gently she listened to me 🙏✨️🌟💕
Thank you for the video. Interesting to learn about the green ribbon for a young horse. Have to remember that. Happy New Year to all!!
another wonderful vid, I really enjoyed seeing the progress and all your useful info. Thank you so much.
Wow Charlotte you're lucky you didn't get seriously hurt. You have a wonderful mare. Chevy is a gem too. Nice to see such happy horses.
I wasn't expecting you guys to be back in the saddle so soon. It's good though !
Great to see the soft hands when riding a horse.

Chevy's such a good boy and Mr. Darcy is so mean to him.
Loved it so much. Will help me restart my horse after a long time off with knee replacements and foot surgeries. Thanks so much
He is a gem. Well done Steve. He is so so willing. What a connection already. ✨
You have trained him well!!! He is soooo good for his age can't wait for him to mature in his body he will be a great looking quarter horse one of my favorite breeds!

Love the riding from the seat. This is what I’m teaching my boy. Lovely.

He is really quiet and well behave for a young horse. He got a nice and laid back nature, that I like.
Excellent video!!! Perfect with the microphone. I could hear every word!!! I look forward to each one. Blessings for a great new year.

His whinny when you get off is hysterical! My horse drops when i get off. 😅😅
No dog would dare disobey Charlotte using that tone!👌
That is so wonderful!!! Chevy is very handy!
Now,I am anxious to see Indy when she is ready!
A safe and prosperous new year!
My favorite mare always nickered when we dismounted. So funny.
Thanks for a great video. When I see all my horses in the morning, my personal horse is the only one who Winnie’s after I put his food in the corral all the others, Winnie, like their impatient.

Does anyone know what has happened to Jimmy the young chestnut gelding Chevy's paddock mate?!
💥💥💥yes where is Jimmy?
Jimmy had to be euthanized .sadly ...due to a very serious injury I believe , if I am not mistaken, in what I read a while ago

He definitely looks bred for reining. He also looks like he has a half gait when he canters, very nice. I love him! What a good boy. 😍
I didn't know that baseball caps were riding helmets....IJS😊
That is great. I've have never seen a horse whiney when you get off of him. 😂😂 he's so sweet ❤
Fantastic, such a bond ❤️ 💖
Happy new year and many trails for 2025!
He was so soft and willing, Oh Chevy! He knew you were pleased. 🤠🐎He remembers.
Chevy, old soul, so impressed !! 😍😍😍
