- hi ! In this video I showed different ways of using transistor. If you are new to transistors this might be lot helpful. feel free to comment if you have questions related to this. I will help you as soon as I see them.
Components :
* 2N2222 or 2n3904 transistor
* 220 ohm resistor (red, red brown )
* 10k ohm resistor (brown, black orange)
* 50k ohm resistor (blue colored one in the video)
* capacitor (220uf to 4700uf )
* push button
* LED

Little detail for those who tried the first one... It says it uses a 2n2222, but instead, it's a 2n3903. The first one has its pins like CBE, whereas the latter is EBC. That way if you try to copy EXACTLY as you see on the video it won't work! Later, if you see the video that is in the description you can see that it uses the 2n3903. Anyhow, great video, thanks a lot for your effort and time!
Thanks for letting everyone know.
Good efforts. But, you need to give an overview of what you are trying to achieve. Through a circuit diagram , or subtitles or through narration.
For timed switching I would take a MOSFET transistor.
Because a MOSFET requires almost no gate current unlike normal NPN / PNP transistors. A capacitor connected to the gate can be charged and discharged by potentiometer within any time.
Without discharge resistance, it takes a long time for the capacitor to discharge.
The base of an ordinary transistor quickly "sucks" the capacitor charge.
The pins of a MOSFET are as follows:
G, D, S. gate, drain, source.
The "control voltage" is applied to the gate. For N-Channel Fet's this voltage must be positive. For P-Channel Fet's, this voltage must be negative.
To prevent unintentional switching on, you have to take a pull-down resistor (e.g. 10k). For N-Channel Fet's, this resistor is connected between the gate and the negative pole of the voltage source. For P-Channel Fet's this resistance is connected between the gate and the positive pole of the voltage source.
The "drain" connection is always connected to the load to be switched. The "Source" connection is connected to the negative pole of the voltage source with N-Channel Fet's. For P-Channel Fet's it is connected to the positive pole of the voltage source.
If someone wants to switch a relay, a motor, or other inductive loads, then please do not forget the freewheeling diode, otherwise the transistor or MOSFET breaks faster than you can imagine.
A freewheeling diode is always connected in the opposite voltage direction and especially parallel to the load. Anode to the positive output, cathode to the negative output.
Learning electronics without circuit diagrams is akin to learning to fly an airplane without being taught about the instruments on that airplane
John Bull honestly I don't really care for them, I'm more of a visual learner I can understand it far better seeing it put together
Jake Mitch but sometimes it isn’t enough, you can’t eyeball certain components! I think what he is saying is that it could of been helpful if he put a few hints at the component terminals and maybe a quick picture of a diagram for people who’d like to see it
Learning electronics with that HORRIFIC music is enough to put one off for life.
@@greenthizzle4 That's not how electronics work man. You need schematics.
just pull out a sheet and draw the circuit you lazy idiot
I am student .i learnt where we can use transisters .thanx sir .you helped me my problem
The video was so good that I can easily identified its diagram... thanks for your educational video
Great camera , and best angle .....you cant go wrong with this . Thanks . Subscribed .

Very fine practicle explantion- quiet useful for beginners!
Excellent demonstration and visual explanation - Thank you so much!
Nicely done - clear and obvious and easy to reproduce - keep up the good tutorials.
Can't for the hell of me understand how transistors work on electron level, but now at least I learned that when middle one is connected to the circuit (emitter side) it lets electrons through. Thanks
what was the battery? Sorry, im really new at this stuff and having a hard time understanding it.
is the second way the same as the first? the difference is that the led is placed on the emmiter?
very good sample, i will try that.
it works fine!
Very great Job. Thanks a lot...
Just a question.
Does the transistor give out an continuous voltage or discrete.
What I mean is does ithe emitter go from straight from 1 to 0 or
Can you control the emitter's voltage like 0.5 with the Base current
Transistor can go 1 to 0 and also all the values in between. In saturation mode it gives 1 and in cut off its 0. In Saturation transistor acts like a closed switch, opposite with cut off. In active region transistor would act like a resistor whose value depends upon base current. All i said above is just a rough (however good enough) idea. But you can view transistor that way.
Very Informative, thank you. Liked+subscribed
Very good video for beginners.
which book do you refer to learn all this ?
***@r!shi kesh*** -Where do you buy the 2n2222 transistors with the ***BENT OUT or angled leads .... emitter ... base ... collector*** as shown in your video? Thanks. :)
Sometimes they are available with angled leads but sometimes they're not.
what is the name of that board in which you connect the wires with the other components?
Breadboard bro
Its called a Bread board
Arduino
Hey, good video
OK IN ENGLISH : Congratulations. However small remark: Often the beginners (me too) claim a diagram, I think that in this case it is enough to be a little observant and to think a little too = then agree. Except in my case = I can still have a small problem because I am color-blind and resistances (colors) very often causes me problems. So I am a special case but I tell you Bravos ...... "
Jean-Claude Gillet your best bet is heading over to French TH-cam because that made no sense sorry.
Electronics is a very dangerous hobby for a color blind person

Good display. But maybe better if you put also the circuit diagram in every function
Can you put some diagrams of them somewhere?
Awesome video, Great job ☺
ElectroMaker thank you bro ! happy raksha bandhan :)
Same to you :)
What is that board?? I want one I need to know what kind it is so I can buy one
Thanks u so much sir
I want my capacitor to charge faster. Is the resistor before the switch necessary?
There are two ways you can charge capacitor fast. One way is by decreasing the resistance and second way is to decrease capacitance.
Hey the video is really good.
I have one question, I didn't understand how the LED glow when you touched the wires ?
+Vidya Patil this is how transistors work.when i touch the middle pin of transistor and positive wire of battery, current starts to flow into the base(middle pin) now this current opens up path for collector pin which then starts conducting. But the collector emitter path is capable of handling more current compared to emitter base path. Therefore i can place my led between this path which lights up as soon as i touch positive wire and base.
Maybe a little late but the current flows through your finger to the other wire :)
Isnt the little current your fingers have enaugh for a Transistor?
Could you provide circuit diagram for each fucntion?
what is the supply voltage
2:56 why doesn’t the negative current ingnore the capacitor and just immediately turn on the led
The power source is not there in the video
Yes
Electronics video.

Hi, Nice things that you're doing but maybe it's a thing to show the schematic diagrams how you build it.
Keep it going it's usefull
I will keep this in mind. Thanks!
Nice video. I liked it. What is the name of the track playingbin your video by the way?
Its darude sandstorm

Nice video

But What power source you use in circuit , Please tell us
Hello how can I contact you?
I see people osselating electric current using transistor. How does that work?
For eg: in Tesla coil circuit
Transistor is used to sustain LC oscillation using positive feedback i.e. when some portion of output is fed to input, output continues to oscillate forever at resonant frequency. Check out positive feedback in amplifiers if you want to know more.
Rishikesh thank you
Are you a BTech in electronics engineering ?
Helpful video, I m using a 2n3904c transistor the led remains ON even if I don't touch in first 2circuits
You should have explained that how things are working, why resistors are used and how PCB connections are made. Then it would be much more helpful.
thank you so much
Nice
Jean-Claude Gillet no one understands french here. Learn english bro
Hey can I use BC547 transistor instead of 2n2222??? Pl zzz ans me fast... I want to submit project of electronics in this week only... Plz ans me... 🙏🙏
Yes you can..but you need to place the BC547 opposite way(flat side not facing you). This is because of the difference in pinouts of both transistor.
Thank u sir... It works... I placed it oppo way.... Tysm sir... 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Please can you add the circuit diagram of all type
if i am using resistor instead of a copper in the base of transistor where will i put it or connect? at the positive terminal?
i need answer until tomorrow :(
Yeah. To turn npn transistor on, you would need to connect one end of base resistor to positive terminal of supply.
@@curiosity551 thanks man
@@curiosity551 and if i dont have a bulb all i have to do is connect the wire from emitting to negative terminal right? Our goal is just to get the voltage anyway thats why so in short explaination .. c and b is in positive terminal using a resistor and e is in negative termibal using a wire
how many volts of battery you used
+Okusitino Tahitua 5v
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
What is difference between 1st method & 2nd mathods of transistor as switch
+Jaysukh Chavda they are almost same except that the led is placed on emitter side in 2nd method. Beginners mostly use 1st method only. 2nd one is just to let them know that a typical npn transistor with same pin configuration can be used as switch with another way too.
I think the second configuration could be called an emitter follower, assuming the transistor is an NPN.
Fact at the first circuit:
The base current flows off unused via the emitter.
Fact on the second circuit:
The base current flows through the LED.
The first circuit is the most used one. It is also called "open collector".
The only difference is when you put led in emitter bias it has lower current and volt value than collector.
but slightly if you work with so lower current you don't even see different.
nice video
Nice.🇦🇺👍🏿
+Marcelle Smit thanks bro:)
Thankyou

@@curiosity551 .... let me google that for ya :)
1st : Collector, Base , Emitter
2nd : Emitter, Base , Collector
Is it CRT if wrong some1 CRT me !
I'm not sure, but I think you just shorted the circuit to stop the led from shining at 4:16
+jochem eend yes..kinda. but with the resistor being used, its not shorted.
can you please add circuit diagrams
good video but bad music for this topic
i have no idea transistors can do all that it will be nice if you can show us the schematics for each circuit
U can make the schematic by yourself
yep! i did make it thanks for replying how can i get in contact with u if i have questions and if i need help with my circuits that will be much appreciated.
Follow me on hangouts. My email is rishikeshmalkar@gmail.com
Sorry about that i reply to the wrong person thanks
Hello, here are 5 very nice applications in principle and very simple to test = Congratulations.

Please explain the things also .

arent 1 2 and 5 same?
pinky and perky sing along (if you dont know google them)
The first two are exactly the same just in reverse...
4:16 lol why would you need the transistor? That type of button is a switch as well as an inverter.
Its just a demonstration to show that transistor can be used that way. I know you can do it with push button, but with transistor you can use sensors as input and produce inverted output.
Oh
@@curiosity551 that actually sounds pretty interesting
I liked the simple demonstrations :) is fast. Some of them look so similar, adding a multimeter will be nice to actually see how different the values are
Yeah. Thanks for the feedback. Will do it in my future videos.
Without music.you can give some explanation
What type of power source are you using.. Nobody specified that
Its 5v supply
Is this your most
favorite corner of your home?
Yes, a lucky corner
For the last circut, the binary one with an inverted button LED, THE TRANSISTOR DOES NOTHING!!!! It has no effect on the function of the circuit.
The circuit Channels the negative part of the current back at its self to cancel it out and turn it off.
False
@@Weirdomanification i tested it

Hey dude you didnt shown us the circuit diagram
These circuits are too simple. You can figure out schematics by your own.
r!shi kesh but I can't understand the Emitter Base and Collector terminals and now I am in 12th class so I literally don't know. Well Never Mind I'll figure it out by slowing video. Thank You
