In the one NBA game where Mac got significant minutes last year, he scored 20 with 9 rebounds and 9 assists. I get he’s small and potentially a liability on defense, but check out his +\-. Regardless of his short comings (pun intended) his team is better with him on the court.

@@brutalasbucs9719 It really is. He's better and has a better motor than a lot of guards in the NBA, rn, and the NBA still doesn't want him playing. I hope he goes overseas to become a Global Superstar. a few years back, he said he was going to stay in the NBA system, but just this year, he said he is looking at quite possibly playing overseas if things don't work out. He's missing out on a lot of money, and he's not getting paid what he deserves with how hard he works behind the scenes.

Matt lacks length. Even if he's 6'2" (generously speaking), he looks more like 5'11" due to his wide frame and short limbs. I think he can hang in the NBA, but he would definitely be a defensive liability. So, I think he should continue to work harder on his 3-pt shooting and become a 3-pt specialist (or assassin).

Not because the NBA was less competitive back then but because NBA executives and coaches were far more intelligent and less prejudiced than they (apparently) are today. Not prejudiced, you say? Then far less intelligent. Give the guy the ball for 30 minutes a game and watch what happens. He would be a superstar in the current NBA.

Just didn't understand your video. He is excelling in the G League against good competition. Was just named the MVP in the league. There are quite a few guys in the NBA who are just as big as McClung or even shorter. As far as contributing to an NBA team, he will do exactly in the NBA what he is doing in the G League. He can score, dish assists and rebound.
Now to fair with you assessment, there has to be a reason why no NBA team will pick up McClung. Is it that he is to small to be a shooting guard? Not a good enough ball handler to be a point guard? To much of a liability on defense because of his size? The reason has to be somewhere in there. If it is, I hear he has been offered 7 figures to play overseas. He should take that and make some money.

I'ma be honest,, these comparisons are so messed up,, I'ma be honest. You rating Mac too short to play outside when the NBA loved Muggsy Bogues & Spud Webb at less than 5'7 & Isaiah Thomas,, Nate Robinson & Calvin Murphy all under 5'10 who all played with the same type athleticism as Mac McClung (or less),, add up all the years those 5 guys played in the NBA!! Nobody knew what to do with Zion Williamson with his athleticism because he didn't fit the parameters of an NBA strong forward at only 6'6" but that didn't stop him going #1 off the board,, did it?? Now check out "Bronny James" at 6'4" averaging under SIX PPG on a nobody school in college basketball & they all stumbling over each other trying to fit him into an NBA roster because his last name starts with "the king"!! How is this possible without a guy like McClung not getting a fair shot??
Man,, I'MA BE HONEST,, there's not but one thing different with Mac McClung & every single player I just mentioned on this list with either the same qualifications or issues they're saying McClung's got & you win the prize if you can figure it out & it's got nothing to do with his athleticism or size by comparison!! C'mon,, muster the courage,, I know you can do it!!
Perhaps even if he was a phenom coming out of Europe with his ability they'd all be clawing away to sign the man up!!

You haven’t watched him play have you? If you had you would see he causes numerous turnovers for the opposing teams every game, and he gets blocked shots against players who are all significantly taller, even 7 footers. Try watching him play before make a dumb comment.

He’ll never get into the NBA for one reason and one reason alone… he’s got to learn the ball isn’t going through him. You have to learn to follow before you can lead… and his game on the court just looks awkward. Too fast.. the game right now is in slow it down mode. That’s the look that’s popular at the moment. Not someone running around looking stiff and quick. If he could learn to not be so stiff, smooth it out and slow his game down. He’d be in but he can’t do it. Which means he can’t adapt to the game. Ball ran through him most of his life. It doesn’t now and he can’t change the way he plays because he’s never played any other way.

What is the point of signing up for a G League team? You become the MVP in that league and yet no NBA team is interested in you.. It is surrealistic. Better go to any league abroad then; I am sure that if you are among the best there, NBA teams would put an eye on you.
