Great informative content mate The new intro is on point 👌 I have been watching your channel for a while and the content never disappoints it has become my go to for info on how to improve my own tb42 keep it up can't wait for the next video
Good stuff mate I like the new intro and the name too. Dyno days are a bit of fun it’s never looks as exiting as some massive cranky v8 but the straight sixes put down some nice smooth torque! I bet it’s nice to drive now, keep up the good work!!👌🏻
Bloody ripper mate!! I was keen as to see this episode, you don’t need to explain yourself for using the hub Dyno, it makes sense using one and not a chassis dyno.
Thanks mate, haha I agree, but there’s always people out there that care so much about peak numbers and whinge about hub dynos. But the hub dyno is definitely superior
Nice numbers. Sort makes you wonder why buy any modern diesel when for a bit of effort you can get such power reliably from an old school engine design and an unbreakable drive train to boot!
Great Intro Dan, I was looking at doing the LS swap on my GU, but given the drivable power you get from the TB42, I think the Turbo & Haltech system looks like the go. I have a TB45, would you or Independent Motor Sport consider making a kit for a GU (or GQ)? or would I have to piece it together similar to what you did (Less the intake)? I've been tagging along your journey since the start & this vid is definitely the best yet. (You in front of the camera & the editing) Keep up the good work. Cheers from the Northern Rivers NSW.
Thanks mate, you might be able to give them a call and see what they say. Or if you want the same set up as mine just chase some bits up, nothing to hard to find. Keep in mind the 45 have small rods and you can’t push them as hard. A lot of people put 42 rods in them. Thanks for watching, cheers
Hahaha sorry mate! Now I feel like a dickhead. Could have waited literally 30 seconds from where I stopped the video to go to bed 😂 Just one of those things where I wish everyone used the same measuring technique. If there was no tyre slip or deformation at all then you can easily calculate what it would be, but of course that’s not the case.
@@seanman6691 🤣🤣 all good mate, legit wasn’t sure if you were stirring haha! At the end of the day in a car like this peak numbers aren’t the priority, as long as the curves look good and have a driveable range that’s all that matters, regardless of wheels or hubs. Cheers
Can you upgrade tips or is the zd30 easier to tune, have a 5 series with a m57 but total cost of conversion is looking very steep. What can the zds or tds make with bolt ons?
Obviously you've boosted the TB42 and got great results, but why would dudes be putting in Barra Turbos instead? Is it because the Ford engine is easier (everything is already on it) even though the mod and getting it engineered is more expensive (I'm assuming it is more expensive)? Does the Barra T have higher potential as it was built as a turbo engine? Or is the weaker TB45 and potential trouble from GU diesels the reason why dudes go the Barra T? Or something else? Thank you for your time 👍🏻
Don’t really have a straight answer for that one haha, I think it’s just not enough knowledge about the turbo tb. That’s changing now though. To do a turbo Barra conversion you’d easily, spend double than what it would cost to turbo the tb. Barra will definitely make way more outright power, it’s a far more modern design, but tend to be a bit more lazy when chasing big numbers because of the need for the bigger turbo. The small rods in the 45 and lack of power/reliability from a td would be a big factor in why people do conversions I’d say. If the Barra exhaust was on the passenger side id probably have one in my race car Atleast, maybe even the wagon. But I do like just having a stock motor in there with no major changes. Cheers mate
lol DK offroad ! donkey Kong drift king lol your name .. fair enough ! just sounds strange coz we haven't heard it yet ! alright lets see these dyno runs !! 🛻🤙😎📹😊
This thing is how I wish my tb42 carb looked, my shorty would love me if I gave her a birthday and built her like this. Fair play man thing rips
A shorty with a turbo set up like this would be epic!!
New intros mint mate 👌👌

Short n Sweet intro
Nice rebranding
Keep up the great content 🤘
Thanks mate
That's nothing to sneeze at good shit Daniel .👍✌
Thanks mate
awesome watch mate, fckn love this Rig, Glad you managed to get to it.. Dk OFFROAD , i like it.
Thanks mate, it’s definitely my favourite car.
A bit more power than my 08 Zd30 😜😜
Great intro mate👍
🤣🤣 just a little bit. Cheers mate
Awesome stuff Daniel son will be a real rippa 🤘
Thanks mate, it’s so good to drive!
Nice numbers. Sort makes you wonder why buy any modern diesel when for a bit of effort you can get such power reliably from an old school engine design and an unbreakable drive train to boot!
Thanks mate. That’s exactly why I have 3 Of these 🤣 wouldn’t see me doing any four wheel driving in a new car.
Because i can get a diesel 4.2L motor to get 11L/100km and any of these TB42s will get like 25L/100km 😂
I guess it depends how old we are, but DK will always have associations with Danny DK Karam, if you are old enough.
Not quite old enough 🤣 DK was always donkey kong for me haha!
DK off-road is a cool name bro
Did think the same haha cheers
Love your work
Cheers mate
That’s amazing mate!
New intro goes good 👍
Thanks mate
Awesome stuff mate
Thanks mate
Been loving the progress on this just wondering what injectors do you recommend for the setup
Thanks mate. Bosch is usually good that’s what I run in both cars
Hi
How well do tb 42 respone to boring and stroking? I cant find much info on stroker kit.
Love your show, keep up the good work
Luv the name, luv the new intro and luv the content. Cheers mate for your effort and product. 👍🍺
Thanks mate, appreciate it heaps!

Hey bud on the highway is it a pleasure to drive with power on tap for overtaking when wanted ? I presume so , great video
@@harryridley2714 hey mate, it’s awesome, can stay in 5th and pedal down and away you go!
@ yeah copy bud , always had td’s but due to price considerations towards the dark side are in place 😅
Hey mate any idea what sort of power this would be at the wheels compared to the hub? Pretty tough from the 42 either way
Not sure if your having me on or not 🤣 watch the rest of the video hahaha
Hahaha sorry mate! Now I feel like a dickhead. Could have waited literally 30 seconds from where I stopped the video to go to bed 😂

hey Daniel, I've got a tb42 that's in the process of being rebuilt, just wondering where you got all your Mls gaskets from, cheers
Hey mate, i just run the genuine 42 gasket. No issues, cheers
What fuel what this tuned on Daniel?
98 and water meth injection mate
Ago old discussion figures VS drive ability
People love numbers but I guess rear end in the seat tells you where you are at
Exactly right mate, as long as it suits your needs in the drivability department then it’s all good!
Oil pump?? Oil pressure?? not bad for a sewing machine. Safe tune. 🛠️🍻🌮 maybe a little gas to spoil it up quicker??
Oil pump is sweet and pressure is healthy! Safe is what we want, that’s why I like the water meth. It spoils up super early, very driveable.

Fucken thing makes more power than my 302 Windsor. 👍🍻
@@jorjimaco5331 hahaha that’s gold! It did make a good amount of power
What boost was it on the run
Between 16/17 psi
@@DanielKistler that’s good numbers for sure . Definitely know now I’ll be comfortable getting what I want from mine after the build
What are do the stock injectors max out at ?
They don’t handle boost at all
Stock injectors i meant to say, think in gonna just swap a m57 anyways
@@kol8fire yeah that’s what I’m saying, stock injectors can’t provide enough fuel to safely tune with a turbo

@@kol8fire no idea to be honest, I don’t own any diesels so haven’t played with them yet
200 more kw then a 12ht
67kw from a 12ht? I don’t think so oak boi

Surely these things can cop 300kw
