Aww...I can never get enough Basset puppy videos!! These two are beautiful and precious!! They are always on a scent, they love to explore for sure. I'm sure you are still so madly in love with them. I'm on my third Basset, had them in my family when growing up, and they are always the breed I will have. Love them!!
@@expat8460 What me and my family did to train them was we eased them into it. Since their spot was in the backyard, we would take them outside a lot to get them comfortable with that area. Then if they had to pee, we would just bring them over to that spot in the yard. Of course, at first they didn't get all the way to that spot but instead pretty close by as they tried to get there. That's normal with puppies, so once they knew they had to get all the way to the spot, they got more and more used to just going there. Another thing I'd recommend is to clean their area often, especially while they're very young.
Congrats they’re beautiful. I’ll be picking up my 8 week old pup basset in early October 2020 and we are super excited. How are these wonderful puppies doing 1 year later? Thanks for sharing!
@@starryeyedwish8005 hi, our baby Rufus is now 8 months of age @ 50lbs plus & counting! Lol! Rufus has a very loving personality mostly... at times Rufus is: stubborn, moody, teething aggression & a big bully!!! But we love him dearly & I appreciate every minute 24/7 with my buddy Rufus. Thanks for asking, take care!
@@starryeyedwish8005 about 3-4 weeks. got him to sit by the door when he wants to go out to do his business. he has stayed home alone for several hours too and he holds it. good boy!!!
Very challenging with Bassets. We had success keeping them in a small area, like a crate while they sleep and a pen while they play. Then slowly expand their sleeping and play area as they stay accident free. Any time there is an accident, go back to a smaller area again and start over. The hounds are three years old now, and when they where pups I said the words "Take a Break" every time they wake up and go outside, praising them when they pee. They now know "Take a break" means to go out and pee. That helped a lot.
Our current Basset is our sixth, four from puppies. We have had success using a bell dangled from the door handle. After 30 minutes of ring the bell - go outside the penny dropped and we had very few accidents thereafter.
Proof that life is awesome.
Best friends. So cute.

My parents just adopted two Bassetts that are scheduled to be born next month! I can't wait!
How long did they take to be potty trained?
@@expat8460 About a month and three weeks after they came home, so until they were almost four months old.

Hello, thinking of getting a Bassett by the end of the year. Is it true that they are hard to potty train outside? Thanks for the feedback in advance.
Awww....... 😊😊😊
😊
What kind of ball is that the pups are playing with? Looks like a great chew toy!
Did you have problems with them being littermates?

Bassets tend to not like being left alone. Just wondering if two of them are happier for longer hours alone?
Do you have any tri color Bassett
Where did you get them?!
This is the stupid dog ever
