I love how you can really feel that moment in time and all of the history that is behind that. Right then and there, It just really brings out the common sense of what people experienced during the war and what they have been through at that period of time. Amazing.
Brought tears for sure. My dad was a USAF Major, fighter pilot in Vietnam, flying 100 missions. He tried to talk to us early teens. We didn't understand. To this day I wished I had just listened! Understand or not, just listen. To let him be at peace in his life, to let him know & feel he made a difference and that we were proud of him. We were and are proud. I'm sad he never would talk about it again. I'm 60, and he's gone and I know now what he did. And I am proud of his military commitment and the oath he took to protect us all. Blessings to you Military Men and Women, all over the world. Blessings to this commitment you divers and team are doing to bring closure to families.🕯🙏 V.
***** half of the shots - yes. in the garage vids are a nx30U sony. In the car it's 50/50 go pro and a elph110hs. Then on the vlog vids it's elph 110hs and go pro for any action shot. I have black 3 - it's very good. not the plus, just regular black 3
***** for sure. before GP3 black I would def get a elph 110hs or a 320hs (320 has better mic). You can do some great filming with that - tho not really action oriented.
Wow this video gave me chills, great testament to the brave men and women in the armed forces. Great that it gave the family the closure they yearned for all these years. Crazy that 70 years past by and how the world evolved to what it is now.
I love the description of when he touched the aircraft what it meant - but that aircraft was only a tool that brave, highly-trained American warriors used to repel any/all enemies. I applaud the efforts these dive teams are making to bring our men 'home' for their families - in some cases family generations that never even lived at the same time. 'Job Well done'!
to all soldiers, i hope you all read this, active, retired, dead, or alive. Thank You. for what youve done, and what your willing to do. Keep on keepin on!
This is just awesome! And proves why these little camera's are so useful in research projects all over the world. Really the most versatile camera you can think of!
JUST THE GREATNESS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND THE LOVE AND RESPECT FOR OUR MEN AND WEMON THAT SERVE. AMAZING, I CRIED... THE MEANING TO HONOR THE LOST HEROS STILL GOES ON.. I TRULY HOPE THAT THIS MAKES ALL OF YOU FEEL THE WAY I DO AT THIS MOMENT. WE LOVE AND RESPCCT YOU EACH AAND EVERONE, THNAK YOU FOR THE MEN HO WENT TO THE VERY LIMIT IT TOOK TO BRING THIS TO US, GOD BLESS
Awesome video and exceptional people!! God Bless America and all our fighting men and women around the world---we continue to owe you a huge debt of our gratitude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we will NEVER forget!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been there and dove on some of the sunken aircraft. it is a surreal experience. there was no go-pro at that time though. I will hopefully return one day. with a go-pro!
Being I scientist I like this experimetal approach based on scientific evidence and knowledge. On the other hand you have always the individual fate of airmen in mind. That´s great and covincing. Keep on going like this!
Wil S. Hylton Thank you! Your book was beautifully written and was a invaluable resource for me when researching for pre-production. Thanks for sharing!
Nate -- I thought Wil's book was absolutely spot on, too. And a big thanks and appreciation go out to the GoPro folks who filmed this in Palau. I, too, was given a GoPro to use during my time in Palau alongside the BentProp Team.
He said, "Our guys". A couple of guys who's names we will probably never know, from any town USA, who died in the chaos of battle... but they are still Our Guys... and they went to find them.
Now you know their names: See this link for the official information about the identification and recovery of the remains if the two Airmen: projectrecover.org/2017/09/01/project-recover-discovery-leads-to-accounting-of-two-wwii-mia-sailors-sharninghouse-and-rybarczyk/
Best produced video on Palau I have ever seen. Beautiful. I lived in Palau on Angaur for a year in 1973-4. So did you ever explore anything on Angaur? I did. An F4U Corsair and a B25 bomber are still in the jungles there. Plus, there is a temporary cemetery that I assume had the remains repatriated, but I don't know for sure. While I was there I found some remains, but can't tell if they were Japanese or American.
A plane that went down, will we know what happened to them? Where they shot down? Mechanical failure? Did anyone survive, where they forgotten in the vast ocean of the pacific? War is a sad nasty business, every soldier killed or maimed is someone brother, husband, fiancé, lover, every soldier killed or wounded is a mothers son. Shame we forget that so easily
+Danny Robison such a shame that we forget that over 1million people died in ww2, and like you said, some one loved them alot but the ones who died fighting, they did their job protecting their country. war is something no one will ever forget, but in war people may die, citizens, soldiers, and airmen. in wars people die but no one shall be left behind or forgotten because they fought for us, for our freedom. I agree with you, it is a shame that people forget the men and women that where killed. its so easy too forget one person, but how about millions. my heart goes to the millions that died in world war 2, and if you have a heart, like this video. and you who dislike you, remember, what if you where shot down in a war and you had died, think about the fathers and brothers that died in the war. war is fucked up, but the people that fight it, are only doing their job. protecting our asses.
so cool! i was born in Anguar, Palau! love seeing my homeland...but i grew up in Michigan and joined the U.S.army ,... now a U.S. citizen and love Texas where i live oorah! ;)

1:26 I know what that is, it's a flap that helps the plane stop after landing. That could of came off of the wing that was shot off or came of the intact wing, the plane could be near that area.
Just imagine being in that Pilots point of view just hitting the water and sinking to the bottom seeing everything disappear slowly r.i.p too all the Pilots and men that lost there life's that day
Scientist: "we found a grave site for 2 people that was also a plane shot down in World War II we need to respect it" Also Scientist: "everyone come sit on the wing and damage the site"
Excellent military history exploration. They were patriots serving and fighting with the dream of uniting the world in democracy in mutual agreement instead of a conquest of wars for profit. There were and still are lots of good Americans with a great ambition to work across borders around the world as ambassadors to establish and cement a common ground international relations for we all actually have the same needs, wants, hopes, and dreams. I wish it weren't about crony capitalists profits for only a few to benefit greatly, but wish every day it were about managing our world in a way conducive to life, environment, unity, and the general ideals of the majority of humanity which would allow us to all better work together to prosper and improve on what we already know are the right deeds to bring about such as using technology for environmental sustainability for us all to benefit.
I love how you can really feel that moment in time and all of the history that is behind that. Right then and there, It just really brings out the common sense of what people experienced during the war and what they have been through at that period of time. Amazing.

GoPro Adventures They look very good
Such an immense amount of determination to bring these men home to their families. These men will now live on as legends.
To the fallen man and woman under the sea and on land, YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN. :.(
No matter where you are, no matter what happened, there is never a man left behind.
There were no women
Bless thier souls & a bow to thier memory

I had the honor to land on Palau during my stint with the US Navy in 1958. It was an eye opening experience.
Wow this video gave me chills, great testament to the brave men and women in the armed forces. Great that it gave the family the closure they yearned for all these years. Crazy that 70 years past by and how the world evolved to what it is now.

The GoPro camera has completely changed the way I see the world!!! Thank you!!!
Never thought I'd willingly watch a 13 minute ad to watch a 3 minute video.
Me too -- the ad was better than the 'feature'!
I did the same thing! Gopro makes really good adds.
This is by far the most incredible thing probably in my life. This is a new dream for me, to do this.
I love the description of when he touched the aircraft what it meant - but that aircraft was only a tool that brave, highly-trained American warriors used to repel any/all enemies. Great video. I hope to use the same technology on Yap one of these years to find my uncle's missing plane.
