Very lovely sounding (and looking) violins, Edgar. You should be (I'm sure you are) proud and content in your violins. You definitely chose the right profession, at least for those fortunate enough to acquire one of your wonders. Who knows, in perhaps a century or three from now your name might come to mean what a Guarneri name or Stradivarious name means to us. I think that your violins will stand the test of time and be sought out long after we are all gone. You might be then, gone, but as I said, not forgotten. Keep up the good work. - Mark from Australia.
Wow your first fiddle sounds fantastic, well balanced, lovely tone❤ so clear! Second fiddle also different, but very sizzler on top 2 strings!scrolls also very beautiful!
That was fantastic. I like the lo fi casual treatment too, with such awesome new violins, and an incredible violinist. Would have liked a to hear a little more of the Pietro violin, as from what little I hear didn't sound all that great. Even new, yours sounded much better to my ear.
You can see that for him the Guarneri has way more ease of playing and a way more complex sound, as well as dynamic range. But the fact that your instrument is already comparable is quite something already I would say.
Wow. Those are beautiful and impressive. I thought yours were better than the original. They seemed to me to have much bolder volume. Just absolutely incredible works of art.
It is a well treated room, but having at least a usb mic like Apogee overhead violin would make possible to judge the timbre. Other than that we see that your copy is very responsive instrument. All the best from Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
The violins I liked, the player I'm not sure, not an expert here but sounded messy. Maybe was the piece he selected. He should've played something more melodic and recognizeable to be able to compare
35k U$ now in 2021 and prices go up every year around 6 to 7% So I think a very reasonable price for a very high quality instrument with the best origin guarantee you can imagine! I had the good fortune to play a 2001 Strad (~20k usd) by Edgar (possibly a linea macchi) two to three days ago out here in LA (@ Morey’s in Lakewood) while killing time waiting for some sheet music. As expected, that violin sounds different tonally to the Guarneri here (sweet round sound, polished, very responsive, and just effortlessly clean). It really speaks to the quality of craftsmanship at Edgar’s shop. It was my first time playing one of Edgar’s violins, despite being a long fan of his adjustment videos, and my expectations were not only met but also exceeded. So if you can’t get a new one from Edgar, perhaps a similar path (finding an existing one that is sonically similar) or from his workshop could also be an alternative.
Even compared to Guarneri I think your fiddles hold up well. I think any serious violinist would be pleased with them. I’d have to be in the room to know 100%, but I can’t say yours are inferior.
I have no idea what you mean with primitive. I enjoyed the time with him. Meet him every year beginning of summer during the Bled Festival in Slovenia.

@@ghlscitel6714 While it's obvious that he is a very accomplished player he is rather showing off than trying to get out the best of every violin. First because of the choice of the piece, full of virtuoso stuff, double stops, left hand pizz but non melodic material to hear the tone and the color of the four strings slowly, up and down in every register and if possible in tune, and secondly because of they careless, sloppy and unmusical way he is playing the Ernst.
@@ludwigsaintj7209 Well you have a point. However judging the acoustic spectrum over an iPhone microphone sounds quite adventourous to me. Are you sure it is feasible?
