I couldn't even finish the tutorial because the linear key portion was not explained at all. I sat here for 40 minutes trying to figure it out myself. Disappointed
For anyone struggling with the Linear Key portion, I figured it out after starring at the screen for several minutes. There are two instances of linear color key on each pyramid comp layer. Using the eyedropper next to the "Key Color" option, select a single color from each side of the pyramid. The first linear key instance should be set to "Key colors" , and the second instance should be set to "KEEP colors". Duplicate this onto each pyramid layer but make sure to select each color. Once those are set for each pyramid layer, drop the aura layers under each pyramid layer and set the matte for each, paying close attention to each colored side of the pyramid. Might be helpful to rename each pyramid layer after its side color as well. Hope this explanation wasn't confusing.
Hey sorry for the confusion and thanks for helping explaining it! Basically will need to key out each side of the pyramid so we can apply the gradient texture to each side individually to have total control of each side. There might be other better ways to key them out as well. Thanks
i have a problem. when i add inner glow to gradient comp and rotate my pyramid and i can see other sides of the pyramid through sides. it only appears when i add layer styles. for example i can see right left and back sides of the pyramid through front side. i don`t know how to explain this thing any other way its not opacity bc when i solo layer i can see it i understand that it appears bc gradient layers aren`t 3d. but in your video everything seems to work just fine...
thanks for this tutorial however the Gradient Material section is not explicit enough, it would have been nicer to know why you precomped those layer, how and when. thank you.
Sorry, this is an overview and breakdown, will do a more detailed version soon. Thanks for the support. can you download project and dig deeper. cheers
Thanks for the support, you need to turn on the collapse transformation icon on the pyramid comp, it’s the second icon after the shy button. It will make your comp 3d in the main composition. Cheers
the very first teaching tutorial in history that no one learned from anything . you gatta have to work on your teaching steps dude . u directly jump from step a to step z and voila .....
desirable project but you skipped the most important parts 💀

Also for the aura gradients, add a wiggle expression to the position of each circle. I used wiggle(3,50) and it looked pretty good.

@@motioncircles no worries! I kind of enjoyed the challenge haha
could've been awesome tutorial but too many steps are skipped
Yeah, same problem. This tutorial not for beginners

please re upload coloring precompose..i didnt get it. how did u make again different precompoe of each shape
great video! btw it would be really helpful if u could explain that linear key part in detail
very cool, but you did not cover the most needed steps
I get transparent gaps between the pyramid's sides stroke when I apply the linear color key. How do I fix this?

King absolutely king 👑
But I've question
The pyramid become 2d when I used in the main composition 🤔

@@motioncircles thanks a lot ❤️❤️❤️
how do you animate that rotate y axis to have a 3D effect? I precomped the pyramid, and when I rotated it, it only rotated as an image.
using collapse transformation. between "shy" icon and "quality and sampling" icon.
Yes, gotta use collapse transformation, Thanks for the quick help Alfin
@@motioncircles Thank you! It helped me
Thanks but skipped many important steps, it's very difficult to understand. Gradient & linear key section need to explain properly
sorry this is a break down and overview, will do a details step by step after. thanks
@@motioncircles Thank you :)
