No! You aren’t alone here. I am a big NBC fan, but I felt overwhelmed with the drops. Then after buying both, I couldn’t help but to feel like “Did they do this so we can freak and buy without a second thought??”. Loved your honesty. Subscribed!
I grabbed both palettes and the Zero bag. Been a massive collector of Melt for years but they lost me for the last 2 years. THIS brought me back with a vengeance. It's an amazing collection and I have "zero" critiques. The two palettes are a perfect pair. I did not feel rushed. I was ready. I know melt well.
I agree about the cream highlighter, I don't mind a sparkly highlight, but I hate when it's speckly and this one is has that spotted speck look. Everything else, I like though.
Ashley so happy to see you! I bought the Halloweentown palette, bag and lipsticks. I havent bought anything from this collection yet because i want it all but i dont want to spend the money lmao
I have the brushes from the Amor Y Mariposa collection and thise are fantastic but i bought a highlighter brush during a sale last year from their normal line and it is the crappiest cheapest feeling brush that was over $20 at regular price when it felt like a $2 E.l.f. brush.
My only disappointment with this collection is that they didn’t do more with the gel liners & incorporating Lock Shock & Barrel… Even if they did it as a separate bundle, a trio of gel liners in red, magenta & teal would have been absolutely adorable, and would have tied the 2 palettes together… Besides, I’ve been wanting them to do a red gel liner for ages 😂
I just got my collection in the mail and it's stunning, but my "Making Christmas" glitter gel pot came almost empty, there was only a tiny dollop of product. Did you or anyone else have that problem?
I contacted Melt about it and they're sending me another one. Maybe talk to them about it, who knows, they might fix it for the Nov. 1st launch so other people don't have this issue
I got mine and my Zero makeup bag’s “melt.” zipper tag says “mel” because the “t.” is completely missing. It looks like it broke off before making its way to me (didn’t find the “t.” in the box like it broke during transit to me). Obviously the makeup bag still works fine, but it is a bit disappointing.
Maybe contact their customer service with a picture and see what they say. I’m gonna do that with the glitter gels cuz the more I’ve thought about it the more odd it seems how empty the pots are…
@@kim_2918_ for the amount of product issue, I’m going to send pics of my jars to customer service and find out if it’s normal. The more I thought about it the more I feel like something went wrong…
@@AshleyEllix I’d be curious if you hear back! I tried to look at the comparisons in the amount listed (gel liner vs the glitter pots) but they used different units of measurement so it’s hard to compare…… :/
The Halloween town palette is my new favourite melt palette. I could not put it down! My palette did that scratchy thing with the purple but the shadows applied fine. I feel like they apply better when you pack them on and then blend them out. The only disappointment was the red master of fright liner. It was so bad that I asked for a refund. It was thin and patchy
@@AshleyEllixmine is also terrible like it did to set appropriately. I sent an email and am hoping to het replacements for the glitter gels that were half filled and my master if fright that is a soft oily mess.
I'm so glad I skipped on the Halloween palette. I really wasn't into the color story AT all and was also skeptical about the formula. Plus I still have the NBC palette from Colourpop which is beautiful. I will say the Christmas town palette looked a lot more visually appealing and with a discount code + free shipping I didn't mind placing a separate order. But I do agree the timing is just strange. I also felt this way with all the new releases from Glamlite. It's all a bit overwhelming and inconvenient.
I also had that sour taste in my mouth bc if they had launched it together I would have only chose one purple lipstick and would not have got the gel liner but the glitter pots instead etc. And maybe people bought the first bag but like the second Christmas town bag better.....
Thank you for talking about it feeling icky - they also said it wouldn’t come to Sephora until 11/15, after the Sephora sale - so I purchased on 11/1 and my order was shipped immediately. But THEN, it was released at Sephora on 11/5, during the sale - I could’ve saved like $30+… and that felt like the 3rd icky, money grabby thing for this collection… I love Melt, but this didn’t make me feel stoked about the brand 😢
I have only seen the nightmare before christmas maybe twice in my life and i watched it when i was maybe 11 so almost 30 years ago lmao it creeped me out then and Tim Burton's movies always creep me out so i have no desire to watch it... but i do love melt cosmetics so i have to get this palette. I own almost every palette they have done except for the Electrip palette and the dark natter palette
They're a business and they roped many people in and they know what they're doing. They are here to make money in this very dense cosmetic industry. It was just a very good business sales strategy. They are here to cash in on the holidays. Probably their busiest time. As a consumer yeah you may feel shitty but they know you'll be back year after year.
They know we'll be back ??? Um considering they are actual dozens of indie brands now, most with much better shimmers and cheaper I won't be back. And there's plenty people who don't buy Melt at all anymore because their formulas are outdated... Don't think it was a smart move longer term
@@exomake_mehorololoMelt has a very dedicated consumer base, and we all know & expect a huge Holiday collection. My guess is that they initially planned to launch these at the same time, but jumped on the unprecedented flurry of “Halloween” collections so many other brands did this year. Gourmande Girls & Ensley Reign released two palettes a couple of weeks apart, and don’t even get me started on Glamlite… At least with Melt Cosmetics, they we’re prepared to get everything shipped in a reasonable amount of time… Glamlite & Ensley Reign both have a turnaround of literally 2 weeks minimum…
Considering how brands usually launch new collections... To me this whole thing clearly looks like calculation and manipulation on Melts end. They know this is for fans, they know its super popular and they should know money doesn't grow on trees! The way these launched with no one knowing the second was coming they were counting on fomo. You could hear plenty of people saying I'll get it who knows when it comes again. Super shady to me!! And I don't think I'll pay any attention to their future stuff.... Plenty other brands to buy from
It appears several people assumed the Christmastown would only launch as a set. According to another TH-camr it was only clarified AFTER that pre launch. Seems a bit shady at least

The Mayor is my favorite TNBC character and as far as obscure characters, I like the sea monster lady “you made wounds ooze and flesh crawl!”
She’s a good one!! I love the vampire band and they were a part of Oogie boogie bash this year and it was so cool!

I am! But I’m just getting 2 I’ve been waiting to get (Dragon Scales & Not Today Satan) and then 2 for a Christmas prezzie ☺️
If they wouldn’t put the palette bundle on offer i wouldn’t be so piss about paying 60 bugs for each one since im only interested on the palettes.
