Yeah the darker colour lipstick from the Halloween Town did the same thing! This actually really irritated me because usually their stuff is much better in quality but these lipsticks are not what they've given us in the past, and they've done this 2 times now. Plus I think the brushes should have came with the whole collection(I can't remember if they ever did before), it wasn't cheap so I really feel like the collection isn't actually the collection without everything in it.
Most of the melt lipsticks are dry. It’s their formula. The amor and mariposas ones were so dry that I broke one off by applying it. I have the green and the black ones like you. I think the green is a satin.
I love the dry formula that the Melt lipsticks have. When wearing a dark shade it’s great to have the staying power. They don’t bleed into fine lines & they don’t end up on my teeth too. I love them! Absolutely stunning looks! This collection is on its way to me & I’m so excited! ❄️🎄
I had the same issue with swatching that one shade. But it went on fine for me. It’s just so bizarre for Melt! And OMG I am obsessed with the green and pop of red look you did!I have to recreate it!!

@@SteffsBeautyStash You should rent it! I saw both The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice on the big screen when they were first released (yes I'm that old!). Both are still in my all time favorite movies. I love Melt's shadow formula, but always found their lipsticks too dry. The darker the colors always seemed the driest.
that purple eye looks absolutely gorgeous!!! i definitely want the highlighter/blush duo, one of the glitter pots, and possibly the makeup bag. i wanted the lipsticks, but after watching your experience with them, i’ve decided to skip out on them. the pumpkin shade from the other collection wasn’t like yours at all whatsoever!!! 💜💜💜

I need this collection I’ve been debating on the first palette but I think I’m gonna have to buy it lol the character on the bag is zero it happens to me sometimes the iconic spooky dog that is legit all over my jackets and blanket and shoes by vans I keep meaning to buy a pillow of zero but I love the new palette for Christmas I think they saw how bad of backlash that colourpop did they wanted to let them know that they can actually listen to what fans vs what fans didn’t like and they took that and ran with it they did a fantastic job they heard the backlash that colourpop got and slapped them with a better palette lol 😂 that nightmare before Christmas fans would prefer wearing I’m truly excited for the Christmas collection how jack skellington took over the palette with his Christmas suit on is iconic 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊I love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I'm happy to hear that you as a fan of the film think this collection does it justice bcs obviously that's super important! Yea I totally forgot that whole thing with the colourpop collection and I’m like major slap to colourpop fans wanted greens and dark moody purples fans of the movie were very furious with the palette and they wanted orange shades too and honestly I wasn’t mad about it I felt it could’ve used some greens I felt like the collection didn’t get much attention at all cause of how lack luster the shades were yeah I truly did love the shades in the palette I’ve had dark purple shades and they are still patchy in other palettes but yeah I truly love that they took the die hard fans into consideration this time the first palette got such hype and some backlash from the creators from the blue that stained everyone but I’m like with some good primer I’m pretty sure our eyes won’t get that stained
I've been trying to resist this palette and the other one; I made the mistake of watching your videos with them lol now I literally cannot stop thinkin about them and today is the last day of the sephora sale - I might cave and buy them 😅 don't feel bad, I have yet to watch the movie too, you're not alone in that:) tfs your gorgeous looks!!
I actually love their lipsticks. They are so dry that they stay on all day, doesn't smudge or move. I put on in the morning, work all day, eating on my breaks and it is still flawless at the end of my shift.

The ultra mattes are crazy drying :( still I bought the pumpkin king lipstick since its like the perfect autumn tone lol :D from the Christmas Town collection I want the green shimmery lippie 🥰😄 I'd consider the glitter gel but it looks like a pricier cp jelly much shadow.. Ok so, I ordered the Zero bag & the green lipstick 💄. I just can’t do the palettes 🎨 right now 😢… I’m waiting for Cozy Cabin & for Oden’s Eye Holiday palette 🎨. Cause last year I got Christmas 🎄 Eve palette 🎨 but I missed the Christmas 🎄 Day one. So, here’s hoping that I can get whatever Oden’s Eye Drops this yr 🎉

Beautiful looks Steff! I bought this collection and I love it! You’re right about the lipstick formula; the black was very dry, but the green was fine. I ended up using a lip brush to apply the black lipstick over a lip liner and topped it with the gloss from Heather’s collab, and then it was fine. I love the sparkly eye gels!❤
Oh no I was hoping I just got a bad batch, sorry to hear yours is bad also. Idk that I will wear the black lippie again, I have a WNW one that works better but if I do I will definitely wear it with a gloss!
If you watch the movie, it’s okay if you don’t like it. I think it’s pretty boring. 😂 But I still like the colors and aesthetic of the characters so I bought this whole bundle, and the highlighter and Halloween Town palette from the previous release. The ghost dog is called Zero.
Most of their lipsticks are ultra matte. Which means every color is dry if they are matte. The green looks shiny so it's not part of their matte collection.
I'm not going to lie: as a huge fan (legit obsessed with this movie), I was SO disappointed with both collections. I just didn't love the color stories or the way other people said they performed. Plus, it was too expensive to be potentially upset about how the shadows worked. No shade to anyone who loved it and that it worked for, but it wasn't for me

Yeah it has to be a satin, much better formula. It was comfortable to wear.

Love these looks! Did you experience any staining with the eyeshadow? Some other purples I have from Melt stain pretty strongly.
No, nothing noticeable.

Yeah I wasn't expecting it to be that dry, I mean it didn't feel like it was gonna go anywhere!
With the ultra matte lipsticks, try applying a lip balm first - helps them glide on smoothly! ❤
I find their deeper shades stiffer than their nude tones tbh
