I'm a fairly new subscriber. Loving your videos. I've been riding about 50 years, but family obligations kept me from true motorcycle travel. I got to do little 500 mile trips once or twice a year, but most of the world is unseen by me. Doing the math, I'll never live to see what I've missed. You and other TH-camrs give us all a chance to see a lot of the beauty this country has to offer. THANKS and hugs to you!
Yes, I took at a nap at a roadside stop on the return leg of a whirlwind weekend trip from Manassas, VA to Americade Bike Week in Lake George, NY then to Laconia Bike Week in Laconia, NH and back to Manassas, VA. My riding partner and I stopped at a text stop (that's what they call them up north) to take a quick nap as the sun was coming up. I say it was just a 15- minute snooze, but my riding partner swears it was a full 45-60 minute nap. LOL! Side note: We logged around 1,470 or so miles in 39 hours. Two sit-down meals, one wardrobe malfunction and repair, countless miles of riding in the rain, spectacular scenery and memories to last a lifetime... priceless!
That tiny pump is cool. I’ve thought about getting one, not because I’m lazy, I just don’t want any mold getting inside my sleeping pad……..okay, I’m a little lazy😜 Nice reviews on the cameras. 👏👏👏👏

And you always spin a good yarn for your viewers. Thanks for taking us along with you on your awesome adventures! You really know how to "grab the gusto" in life!.......And I can nap almost anywhere; comes with age.
As the swishing wind and afternoon sun lulled me to sleep, I napped at a park somewhere in the Rockies with no bugs/critters/people. Woke up thinking I was in heaven as the sun snuck flashes at me through the trees. Amazing!
I really enjoyed this one, Amanda! Your stories are always so refreshing. I feel like you are constantly refining and stepping up your game! Adding the 360 to your kit will be a lot of fun. But like you said, it should just be another tool to further tell your story. I love your attitude and always look forward to the next episode!!!
I just set up my hammock and snoozed in a park today. Not as long as I planned because people started launching model rockets, but that was awesome and worth waking up to watch!
I found it very interesting- the choppers doing a camping trip. Not the type of bike I associate with long distance and riding off-road. As always great scenery and editing. Thanks for the camera review- I hate editing- so I’ll be sticking with standard Go Pros
Great points all about 360s. One item I like is that you don’t have to point the camera to a particular subject. Simply reframe in post production. They are a bit of a pain in the tush to edit though. But it’s just a learning curve just like everything else. Keep up the good work Amanda.
Hello there. I ran across you looking at the Honda 500 cbdxrrryta lol. Proud to know people like you still exist! If you are ever in the N.W.A area for BBB you have a camping spot here!!! I have friends that live on Flat head lake. I went through there in 2001 on my way back to Arkansas. I had my own adventure in a 1978 ford with two cats and a three legged blue healer named Molly. She died in 03 from lung cancer and never smoked a day in her life, go figure. I have a flat bed trailor if you break down and motorcycle buddies who can fix anything. Lol. Love your channel.
Awesome review! So RAD that they sent it to you. I had no idea about the Premier plug-in. That's going to be a game-changer. I have the Insta 360 one X 2 for exactly the reason you stated. Reframing in post.
End screen, yes I have taken a nap in a park. Thanks on your perspective on the 360 camera. I too have the Insta 360 onex2. And I love it. I actually prefer using it instead of my chin mount and bar mount camera. (You can see some of those shots on my channel). What I have learned to make editing easier and more manageable on my phone or iPad is to shoot in 3 minute segments. I can do that with the one button or via my gps remote that’s mounted on the bar. I use a wireless mic and the mic adapter. ( warning the mic adapter is mono so if you have two wireless transmitters to one receiver make sure it’s in mono mode or you will lose audio). When you use the mic adapter the camera is no longer waterproof). The clamp that is supplied in the motorcycle kit sucks (in my opinion). I had issues, and my camera ended up hitting the ground because the clamp rotated…lesson learned. ;). By using the phone app you can get rid of the logo in settings. I have installed the plastic protective lenses, some quality is lost…meh…. I’ve also had bugs splat on the lens too….. as they say it’s a film crew in your pocket….for social media and TH-cam it’s OK. Thanks for another great video. Enjoy
Interesting perspective thanks for the notes on the microphone. In my experience with the clamp mount it is almost exactly the same as my ram clamp, didn't have any issues with it moving even going 70 down the Columbia Gorge. I do recommend wearing gloves when you turn the knobs to tighten them down if you don't have tools to really get them tight. I feel like you get a better grip with gloves on. As I said I WAS using the phone app for the footage with the logo on it. I stated in the video that I know people have said that if you edit in "stories" section of the app it would remove the logo but that part of the app crashes for me. I chose to edit the footage in the camera mode and there is no settings to turn the logo off in that part of the app. Believe me, I've done research lol Perhaps that part is different depending on your OS.
@@AstheMagpieFlies when you connect with your phone on the bottom far right is the settings circle.click that.scroll down you will see Nadir logo click that and you can then remove a logo. Below the Nadir logo is the watermark button click it and that will remove the logo as well. I’ve had the system crash too. I’ve also run out of memory because I uploaded too many files to my phone or iPad so I end up doing one file at a time then upload it to my editing software and delete the file on my phone. I’ve also edited the file direct from the camera then closed the file and the new edited version is saved on the card. (I’ve also been able to undo the edits and restore the file to the original version). As for the clamp, I believe my issue was the rack I clamped it to was too small in diameter, that being said I will do as you suggest and wear gloves when I torque the screw. There is a learning curve, you’ve got it figured out, and as a “B” roll it is a nice tool to have. Take care.
To use the stories section you have to be connected to the internet, which means you have to disconnect the camera from the phone. If the file is uploaded to the phone then you can be disconnected from the camera and use the stories portion of the app….I think that’s how it works
I normally skip forward when someone reviews something given to them. But found your review of the 360 camera quite balanced. Thank you for the honesty not only discussing the pros but what you thought were the cons of this camera.

Started using the One X2 on my Africa Twin a few weeks ago and have been happy with the results so far going from 2 GoPro’s to just the insta 360. The premium lens guard accessory is a solid investment for motorcycle use. I have no fear leaving it on the bike all day in off-road conditions with that lens guard system on and have not had any video issues from it.
I don't care for how much people use 360 cameras, but you did it well. I just hate that cheesy automated camera spinning around and such that so many people do. Definitely takes me out of the story. Of course, now you have me pondering one because of the way you used it. Maybe for Caitlyn's handlebars.
Wow! That was a great Insta360 review! Very in-depth and love the way you wove it into your story. Love my Insta360 ONE X2. I have use the GoPro Max & editing is a little easier but the control of the footage I feel is better on the ONE X2. Kudos!
Aww shucks! I can't believe I missed this event. I wasn't aware of the happening. I just moved to Oregon and have been looking for people to ride with. I will for sure make it next year!
Outdoor naps are the best! Like your comments on how to use the 360 and drone cameras, I strongly dislike when people switch to that riding around a ball view for anything more than a transision. I'm using several handle bar mount cameras that I can move around to catch different views but I have to know what's coming up and I don't always point the camera correctly. I may just have to invest in one of these.
Great video and an honest review. Not quite ready to add a 360 camera but yes, they do offer a change-up. I'm a little worried by battery life and the batteries don't seem replaceable, i.e. carrying a spare. I have slept on a picnic table in a roadside park for a couple of hours after working and riding for close to 30 hours. Much younger and not as wise lol.
Great video. You edited the snot out of that 360 footage….awesome job! Your review/thoughts on the camera are excellent. My biggest gripe with 360 cameras is when folks do the “tiny planet” footage……just tired of that. I own the first gen 360one and this current version has come a long way. Park naps are AWESOME
Hi Amanda, I was up in the same area around the same time. It was so smoky! I shot a ton of video and stills, then dropped Blitzopotamus on my right ankle, thereby ending my riding for a couple of months! I was disappointed in my videos for the most part. My Sena 10 took some good video, but most of my stills did not write to the card...go figure. Anyway, once I heal up, I'm looking forward to more shooting and riding. Keep up the great videos!
Haven't caught up with your vids in a while so it was great to watch one today while I had a rest from travelling. Love how you edit the 360 degree footage as I like you don't like this wacky ass over the top looking edits...bit more "classic" edit style LOL. Great review. Thinking of getting another camera as when I do my ride by cutaway shots I would love to have them pan...so looking for a camera that may active track the bike. Would this camera do that? Or if not which camera would do this if at all? End question. Yep have totally been so exhausted and had a 30 minute nap in a park (or two). Great to catch up with one of your vids and thanks again for your review and awesome footage. Stay well and shiny side up. 🙂
very fun video and super pro camera review.. I have to say I am not a big fan of 360. I used to call them vomit cams..because people using them tend to make us spin every 2 seconds for no reasons. Your usage is fine, i guess...but I am not sure I would say it s a must have :)
Hi! I love your videos, I’m travelling vicariously through you during lockdown in Australia. May I ask what external microphone you’re using? The sound is great and I’m thinking of trying to start dabbling in the motovlog world 😁
I have loved this one so fun I wish I could have gone. Great honest review of the camera. I will wait for pricing to come down a bit more before I jump into this type of camera. End screen crew.? Yes i have napped in more than one park and it is glorious as you say
Awesome video. Love the review of the new 360 camera. The scenery makes living on the Gulf Coast feel very boring. You need to create a “Creator’s Academy” series of videos.
Hi Amanda, first off I just want to say I really enjoy your channel and have been watching it for about six months now, I ride in Northern California in the redwoods and do a lot of filming here and I am looking for a second action camera. Your thoughts and opinions on the Insta360 OneX2 is greatly appreciated. Your opinion on more is less with the camera is the same as mine and I am planning on purchasing the Camera based on this video. Keep doing what you’re doing, love the channel! All the best Forrest 😎
Yep been there done that! How long can you run the 360 continuously when you record footage and can it charge and record at the same time. I love that road thru Fossil over to Shaniko and then up past Shearers Bridge or Bakeover Road to Maupin. Ain't no bad roads in that part of Oregon people. If you don't live here put it on your list. Was hoping to see Multnomah Falls from the Washington side but can't have everything :) Another amazing video from Amanda!!!!! Thanks
Sorry I can't answer your question because I don't run any camera continuously lol I only ever record short bursts maybe 2-8 minutes max because it makes editing much faster. You can charge and record at the same time just make sure the cord is secured and not flapping in the shot.
Naps ARE the best for sure! I'm assuming you mean not all crumpled? This trip I just hooked it to my duffel through the hat band so it wasn't inside of a bag.
Only took a little longer than normal, maybe an extra hour or two, not anything crazy after I got the stuff downloaded and figured out how to work the gopro plug in it was pretty intuitive after that.
@@AstheMagpieFlies I believe you talked about your gear in one of your videos so I’ll hunt it down . Im a new rider not sure what type of rider I am at this moment.
So ok, I've had an insta 360 for a couple of months now, sadly I had to pay full price for it, LOL.. But, my issue with it, and the main reason why no footage from it has reached my channel yet... I just can't get my head around the editing of the footage... It's horrible either on the phone or the computer 😳 I just can't get it right. Interested to know exactly how you got your head around it Amanda.. (oh, my latest video has another shout out to you as I was commenting on a vid of yours months and months ago when it was recorded)
Oh interesting! I don't know I found it fairly straight forward. Move the footage till it's where you want it and then add key frames so it stays pointing at what you want it pointed at. I'm not really the best teacher when it comes to those things. Have you watched tutorials?
Never napped at a state park, but have napped on a picnic table at a wayside turn out on a rural road, does that count ? 😜🏍 (It was more present than the night I spent sleeping in a laundromat after riding 400 miles in the pouring rain 🌧😳.)
I believe you can send it in to get them replaced but at the cost to replace one lens you might as well buy a whole new unit lol so best to be cautious haha
I'd like to see a segment showing how the Insta is mounted (where) and the footage you get from it in that location. Then moved to various locations. For the second segment I'd like to see how you created the final video on your computer so I could see how much manipulation you had to do. Would an Insta really replace both a helmet mount camera and on bike camera? Can I get a view forward as if it were a helmet cam (at that height) and view showing me simultaneously. I like the view where your whole body is in the frame.

Fair enough!
Awesome as always ❤
Thank you MotoSera , I really appreciate that!
Hi! I love your videos, I’m travelling vicariously through you during lockdown in Australia.
May I ask what external microphone you’re using? The sound is great and I’m thinking of trying to start dabbling in the motovlog world 😁
Aw thanks so much!
Links to my gear is in the description 👌
Thank you!
You're welcome!
cause your awesome
Aww thanks Kelley!
Nicely done!
Thank you Pat May !
I love your adventures. I love your hat. I also have a hat like yours. How do you carry it on your bike? Mine is not crushable.
I have loved this one so fun I wish I could have gone. Great honest review of the camera. I will wait for pricing to come down a bit more before I jump into this type of camera. End screen crew.? Yes i have napped in more than one park and it is glorious as you say
Thanks man :D
Awesome video. Love the review of the new 360 camera. The scenery makes living on the Gulf Coast feel very boring. You need to create a “Creator’s Academy” series of videos.
Thanks so much Frank! haha
I mean I do have this and it's pretty close: th-cam.com/video/x7dxBZuc5fg/w-d-xo.html
Hi Amanda,
first off I just want to say I really enjoy your channel and have been watching it for about six months now, I ride in Northern California in the redwoods and do a lot of filming here and I am looking for a second action camera.
@@AstheMagpieFlies thanks I didn’t know how long you usually take you clips. Thanks again
Not on my bike but I have napped more than once at a park. 😍
Great video as usual! I think I would like that ride I would love to do it maybe next year. Is info for it on the internet some where?
Check the links in the description John!
@@AstheMagpieFlies Ok thanks Amanda!
Do you use a large tripod and a DSLR camera to record when you're not riding?

Love the music... who's the singer?
Naps are the best, especially if you start imbibing early.
By the way, how do you keep your hat looking like a hat?
Naps ARE the best for sure!
I'm assuming you mean not all crumpled? This trip I just hooked it to my duffel through the hat band so it wasn't inside of a bag.
I'll have to try it..
But if it blows away...
How was editing this? It looks amazing!
Only took a little longer than normal, maybe an extra hour or two, not anything crazy after I got the stuff downloaded and figured out how to work the gopro plug in it was pretty intuitive after that.
I love your riding boots.
Thank you Garry Sceppa !
@@AstheMagpieFlies I believe you talked about your gear in one of your videos so I’ll hunt it down . Im a new rider not sure what type of rider I am at this moment.
Links to my gear are almost always in the description
Great video.
Thanks so much Edd Curry ! That means a lot to me!
i liked the review... and the music
Thanks so much B!
So ok, I've had an insta 360 for a couple of months now, sadly I had to pay full price for it, LOL..
But, my issue with it, and the main reason why no footage from it has reached my channel yet... I just can't get my head around the editing of the footage... It's horrible either on the phone or the computer 😳
I just can't get it right.
@@AstheMagpieFlies I think I need to seriously sit down and watch tutorials etc.. LOL
What site do you get your music from?

Never napped at a state park, but have napped on a picnic table at a wayside turn out on a rural road, does that count ? 😜🏍 (It was more present than the night I spent sleeping in a laundromat after riding 400 miles in the pouring rain 🌧😳.)
I think that counts lol
I thought the lenses are replaceable or am I mistaken. Thought was one of the upgrades from the last one.
I believe you can send it in to get them replaced but at the cost to replace one lens you might as well buy a whole new unit lol so best to be cautious haha
It’s really weird for the 360 cam to make the selfie stick disappear but it’s shadow is there. Does that mean it was made by vampires?
YES secret vampires
I'd like to see a segment showing how the Insta is mounted (where) and the footage you get from it in that location. Then moved to various locations. For the second segment I'd like to see how you created the final video on your computer so I could see how much manipulation you had to do.
Would an Insta really replace both a helmet mount camera and on bike camera? Can I get a view forward as if it were a helmet cam (at that height) and view showing me simultaneously. I like the view where your whole body is in the frame.
Haha I’ve been to spoken for coffee lol random fun fact
I’ve had 3 360 cameras. All same model, not a insta360… cracked/ scratched all of them eventually😅. Watch those lenses carefully
lol thanks for the note XD
Motorcycle Honda 👍 like video nice 👌
Thanks ✌️
