Ares in DC comics has all his power stored in his Helmet, therefore meaning Ares The God of War is not an actual singular person; But rather a Mantle that literally any conceivable entity can dawn, if they someone manage to kill him. Holding Wonder Woman in his arms as she died, Batman looks up, rage and violence spewing over the boiling point inside. As he looks eyes with Ares, he notices his opportunity; An actual, literal, genuine piece of physical Plot Armor just kind of sitting there in the ground a little bit in front of him. Ares was a bit further and couldn’t make it in time to stop Batman from grabbing the literal Helm of Plot Protection, thereby making him the new Ares, God Of War.
Just to let yall know how op this guy was. He tanked an attack from a weapon that was meant to put superman into a coma and he tanked that shit and didnt even move at all 😂. He also killed every hero, villain and god from his home universe and not only does he have all the martial arts of the original batman but he also was trained in the amazonian fighting styles by wonderwoman from his universe since they were lovers in that universe
