Bought my J-10 the first go round 6s version grass ops no issue at all, with a suggestion y’all who own one may want to drop your canards down I did mine 10mm. Talk about a huge change in turns as the canards have the opposite effect as the elevators down creates more airflow over the wing. Beautiful flight
Hi Jandro thanks man 🙏👍 Yeah stock FW 1350kv 8S combo, very powerful indeed. The timing of the ESC was probably set to medium/high (20 degrees) in the factory because I'm pulling close to 140 Amps and over 4000 Watts 😳 Timing should be a lot lower. 2 Friends of mine had a crash already because their FW jets (Avanti and Zeus) had the ESC set to such a high timing also. I will lower mine to 15 or even 12 degrees just to stay on the safe side.
Inderdaad een hele hoop power, bijna 140A en 3800W. Timing staat standaard echter te hoog ingesteld, zal die nog wat verlagen om de batterijtjes wat te sparen 🙂
Correct me if I'm wrong. You have a grass runway that appears to be very well manicured and smooth. You have plenty of power (8 s powerplant). You may have adjusted the c.g. to the "correct" location, not where the manual has indicated. We all know the manuals c.g. are all grossly nose heavy. So. Yes. It takes off grass without issue. Pretty much any e.d.f. that has these same conditions and specifications will also fly off of a grass runway. So. How does this e.d.f. differ from any other e.d.f. ?
Hi Frank. Nothing wrong with your analysis. But here is some more info: we had plenty rain since October 2023 so our grass is very thick, lush and resistant. It appears well manicured in the vid but if you look again you'll see that the front wheel is barely visible, we have a lot of bumps and potholes in our grass runway also. Same day and the day before I saw 2 Freewing 80mm EDF planes with a high performace unit struggling to take off and one running off the field into the farmer's lands, with 8S setup and a cg 2-3cm behind the stock cg. So yeah I'm pretty happy that this plane seems to have no problem at all. Greetings from Belgium
Hi Jack, this is a hard question lol. The Rafale is still my number 1 because it's the most agile and lightest of all. All 4 have an 8S setup but the J-10 feels more powerful maybe because it's a 90mm. The J-10 setup also beats the setup the I have in my Eurofighter. I would put the Rafale on nr 1, J-10 & Gripen on a shared nr. 2 and the Eufi at nr. 3 ... although I like to fly all because I'm a delta freak :-)
She does sound nice 👍🏾
You bet, FW has a winner with the his EDF unit 👍😃

Heya Bill thanks a lot for your nice comment and good tip about the canards. Is that 10mm measured at the leading or trailing edge of the canards?
Looks great Geert. Hopefully I will fly my one at the weekend!!!!😁
Thanks a lot Robert. I'll keep my fingers crossed for decent flying weather. Good luck with the maiden. Greetings from Belgium 🍻
Great flight! It looks powerfull and dynamic in the air
Thanks Hans-Gerd ... this EDF is a 'beast'. It felt really good immediately after the first take-off. Greetings from Belgium 🍻
Mooi
Bedankt Pieter!
Cool Video Gert... 🤩
Many thanks Rico, this jet is definitely a winner!
Awesome stuff Geert!
Is that the stock 8S combo? Looks very promising!

@@Icarusthe2nd_RC_and_friends Not bad! What exactly caused the crash... did they run out of battery?
@@RC4ever The high amps caused the ESC to go in shutdown because the batteries couldn't cope with the high load.
Amai, power genoeg. Maar laat het gras nu maar toch niet groeien😁

How do you compare this one vs the eurofighter, rafale and gripen?

Mooi hoor .. #gaatlekker!!
Gebruik je 2x4s of 6s+2s?
