South Park: The Stick of Truth and Fractured But Whole are based off of the first 2 Paper Mario games, and Nickelodeon All-Star Battle Brawl is based off of Smash Bros, yet nobody complains about them

I don't love the argument that they need to make need models and assets for each game. CC2 is well known for making pretty cutscenes and models and I'm sure those take time to make. No different from Pokémon reusing models throughout 1-2 console generation(s) instead of remaking the same thing slightly better from scratch. It saves resources to put towards improving other areas (well, not in the case of this game clearly)

There are many more important things to be upset about with this game and being upset about something so small isn't gonna help anything. @@Volonid Pokemon is a different story. The games on the same generation of hardware are okay having the same models considering how long it would take to make all of the pokemon again. When moving to a new console generation though, I feel there's no excuse for gamefreak not making new models.
Aw, I was really looking forward to play this game with my friends. They're not gamers but are huge Demon Slayer fans, so I thought that it would be a good common ground between video games and Demon Slayer for all of us to enjoy playing the game since they liked the trailer for the game.
Now that I got the chance to play it, it's a fun game if you want to play with other Demon Slayer fans. Personally, I think it should be a $30-40 dollar game, certainly not a $60 game.
I played it with friends, all Mario party fans but only 2 out of 4 watched demon Slayer. The game isn't the best, obviously, but we had a blast laughing at and complaining about the game.
The way i see this game is it's more like a stopgap between Hinokami Chronicles and it's sequel with some new assets being made for it like how Naruto Storm series has it's own filler games in between it's mainline entries.
Comparing it to Mario party is a given. But it looks interesting. If it was on ps5 I’d buy it to play with friends. And because a sequel of sweep the board with a higher budget would be really cool. But it being solely on switch, i don’t see it doing crazy numbers
This reminds me of One Piece Pirates Carnival, it was also a Mario Party like game and yet it managed to have a somewhat unique mechanic while implementing aspects from the story in the game, like having the villains, side characters etc appear and some of them giving you "boss fights", some giving you map effects that can hinder your opponents or benefit you. Back then it was released during the Water Seven arc, so it featured the fun Davy Back Fight games on top of the already existing minigames, AND they have unique, character specific 1v3 games that were a lot of fun. That game from years ago somehow still manages to be better than this one released in current day and I find it absolutely sad. Honestly, I recommend playing Pirates Carnival instead of this.

As a diehard Demon Slayer fan who bought this game because I'm a diehard Demon Slayer fan, he's right. (Though Genya is my favorite character, so yes, I am clamoring to play as him!) Though I have always liked the Mario Party franchise, and was definitely excited for this, it is just so cheaply made and boring. But yeah it might be more fun if I actually had someone to play with. Also, a lot of mechanics in this game just piss me off. Like I used a Total Concentration dice to perfectly map out my steps to get to the Destination, and then end up on one of the help spaces afterwards, but the game cuts you off there even though you have remaining steps. And when someone steps on a demon attack tile, even though you were not the one to step on it, you have a random chance to be hit by the demon and lose Rank, while the person who stepped on it walks away free. We need to get CC2 extremely far away from the Demon Slayer franchise. All they know how to do is to create the exact same Naruto arena fighter, reskin it, and resell it for the same $60 price. And I know many people aren't going to like this opinion, but arena fighters were never good or fun to play to begin with. It's the most boring, repetitive game format that just consists of doing the same thing over and over again, and there's not even any reward to it. People may roll their eyes when I say this, but yeah, the perfect Demon Slayer game would be another open-world RPG like Breath of the Wild (or I guess we say Tears of the Kingdom now). Not just because open-world games just tend to be the best games ever made, but because Demon Slayer as a series is PERFECT for that kind of game. It's built for that kind of game structure. Spawn in with nothing as your own created character, traverse that big open-world map, find a trainer for any breathing style you choose, master it, defeat demons to rank up, defeat the Lower Moons, eventually the Upper Moons, Muzan, etc. Multiplayer capabilities are of course a bonus.

My biggest issue with this game is that the balance is whack. Money is way too easy to get, and you can just buy like 4 swap character spaces items at once. When everyone is doing this, it just comes down to the turn order. It will give you items on your last turn when you can't even use them, and the worst is when someone lands on a demon surprise attack space. it just randomly punishes players indiscriminately every time rather than the person who landed on it. Doesn't give a roulette of possible consequences, doesn't create a minigame where the loser is punished, or everyone except the winner is punished. Nope, it just picks at random and chops your rank point count, effectively taking any effort or strategy and throwing it down the drain out of pure RNG. I get that it's mario party and RNG is a big part of it.. but when the player who consistently played the worst wins in the end because a Muzan boosted demon chopped everyone's else's points by 1/3 in the last 5 turns, then what's the point? The entire game gets decided by that space regardless of how many times you strategically got to the destination or how many times you did the best during the demon battles. The game brings you from first to last place, or vice versa out of no fault of your own on a whim due to this one space. For the sheer sake of proving a point, I deliberately went full troll with 3 other people and made sure to hit this space every time I could, and it resulted in the winner being entirely random and decided by this one space. No amount of getting destinations, slaying demons or winning minigames made any impact on this. Whoever got their points reduced the least by these spaces won the game 100% of the time. The presence of this event alone ruined the game for us .

Bro the only reason I like this game (other than I am one of those die hard Demon Slayer fans) is the fact they at least made the hashira playable characters other then Shinobu,Giyuu,Rengoku,Tengen. because all Mitsuri,Obanai,Sanemi,Gyomei,Muichiro, got was a few cut scenes at least. I did not get the game and if I did I would have mainly played it with friends only because bots are basically Bowers and we would just be toads against them

Darn, i wish this was better than it came out. Being a Mario Party clone isnt a bad thing, but it doesn't feel unique. I wish it wasnt priced at $60 too. Mario Party has the high quality and polish you expect from a Nintendo game. So having Demon Slayer Sweep the board at the same price, is pretty much sending your game to fail day 1. But Sweep the Board looks like its going to end up having a deep discount every other Friday, a little later down the line.
It would of been better if the "mini games" were more interactive like jump swing your sword to pop the most balloons and you could hit each other. Mini car battles and you can use your moves. Land on a vs or a battle mini game space and it's literally like a 1 minute fight. They could of made there own version and made it combat heavy.

I never released how sad our gaming society has become. We'd have group parties playing donkey Kong and split screen 007, we would get together in one room and lan party for StarCraft or Minecraft. Now....gamers play alone with someone random from across the world. No attachment or duty to help in game or in coms. Console gamers are turning into mobile players, transactions on almost every game. Where's the love and desire to achieve the endgame credits together, to not hate the game but remember the journey and restarts we all made.... We no longer respawn...we change games.
The problem with ripoffs is usually that they don't add to the formula or make anything interesting worth playing or watching. Take ctr for example a "ripoff" of Mario kart but nobody calls it a ripoff because it adds its own style to kart racing while being a good game itself it doest simply rip the title of team racing while making lazy animations, game design etc. it's an actually competent game.

It got boring 6 months after release because theres not enough people playing online anymore and theres nothing new, its all HD minigames from previous mario party games. This game is giving me a breath of fresh air with the characters I love and a real grinding reason to olay thus game for many hours to complete. Too bad you made a 💩 review and it may draw people away from the game, or maybe not. Reusing models was never fine, not even with pokemon. We definitely complain about it. But it’s worse for this game when there is nothing redeeming

It would of been better if the "mini games" were more interactive like jump swing your sword to pop the most balloons and you could hit each other. Mini car battles and you can use your moves. Land on a vs or a battle mini game space and it's literally like a 1 minute fight. They could of made there own version and made it combat heavy.
It’s not switch exclusive I got it on ps5. Just played with some friends and had a blast. It’s a Mario party rip off but a good one.

P.s in the day/night cycles on Mario nothing happens besides more boos. On demon slayer the demons are stronger and make the game harder and the game spots to aide or hurt the player once they land on it.
I never released how sad our gaming society has become. We'd have group parties playing donkey Kong and split screen 007, we would get together in one room and lan party for StarCraft or Minecraft. Now....gamers play alone with someone random from across the world. No attachment or duty to help in game or in coms. Console gamers are turning into mobile players, transactions on almost every game. Where's the love and desire to achieve the endgame credits together, to not hate the game but remember the journey and restarts we all made.... We no longer respawn...we change games.

The problem with ripoffs is usually that they don't add to the formula or make anything interesting worth playing or watching. Take ctr for example a "ripoff" of Mario kart but nobody calls it a ripoff because it adds its own style to kart racing while being a good game itself it doest simply rip the title of team racing while making lazy animations, game design etc. it's an actually competent game.

@@xibladekidd I do agree with you on the point of not being different types of anime games that isn't true, we are getting different types of anime games recently from Goblin Slayer SRPG, Mushoku Tensei dungeon crawler RPG, HunterXHunter 2d fighting game to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ARPG and while i dont know what SEGA and CyberConnent2 expect this game to sell, i dont think it would do well for reasons i stated we have to be realistic about this, also i forgot to mention that this game should have also be released on other platforms.

You didnt get the memo right? Its coming to every gaming platform, xbox (last and new gen), PlayStation (last gen and new gen) and Even PC. I already own superstars. It got boring 6 months after release because theres not enough people playing online anymore and theres nothing new, its all HD minigames from previous mario party games. This game is giving me a breath of fresh air with the characters I love and a real grinding reason to olay thus game for many hours to complete. Too bad you made a 💩 review and it may draw people away from the game, or maybe not.
