Mate your sound design is ON POINT in this vid. Adds such an incredible dynamic. Beauty subtle work that doesn't go unnoticed. The feet and the faces of the Chimps are incredible. Amazing to hear the voices captured as well. All around great video mate.

    Exactly.
An amazing experience. Beautiful footage. Wonderful editing. Your guide/guard was great to listen to. I'm preparing to head to Ethiopia for 3-4 weeks very soon, but would be prepared to invest in a trip to see the chips in Uganda of it wasn't too expensive...and I knew I could likely get that close to them.
I look forward to seeing the mountain gorillas in episode 4.

Amazing video. You were so lucky to see the whole community of chimps. They are quite vocal and loud, that could be intimidating. I thought my meeting with the chimps was live changing, to be so close to our close relatives.
I also recognize the waving to all the children. So nice!

Very nice video and nice choice of music. Just to add to the perception of chimps being much stronger than humans, their muscles are 33% stronger per same weight of muscle. That's actually not that much, an average bodybuilder is much stronger than that. Their bite force is dangerous though

At 2:30 you refer to Chimpanzees as our ancestors, but this is actually incorrect. Chimpanzees and humans had a common ancestor relatively recently (somewhere in the range of 13 to 4 million years ago until two distinct lineages emerged that no longer experienced hybridization). We did not evolve from Chimpanzees and nor are we "more advanced" in terms of evolution; we are evolutionary cousins that both evolved on the same timescale from a now extinct common ancestor.
Chimps are "just as evolved" as we are. We are both extant apes (specifically great apes or hominids)

  • @Catyren

Duuuuude chimps aren’t our ancestors 🤦‍♀️ they’re more like cousins. We’re descended from a common ancestor with chimps.
