To be fair, they're a top law firm having clients like PFizer who get hundreds of lawsuits at a time. When you're that busy, you probably just want a lawyer and don't care about what's happening in the firm
@@spectralbrickz I know and I don't complain. Just pointed out that there is no point picking one unrealistic thing (name changes) when the entire show as just tons of egomaniacs fighting each other, trying to undermine each other's firms, having some kind of superpowers of being able to tell their clients what to do and rarely doing any actual legal work. Don't get me wrong... I love this show! It's just worth pointing out that it's just as realistic as Spiderman is xD
I know the show wanted us to believe they were the most powerful prestigious law firm in New York but with all those name changes, there’s no doubt in real life that’d be a sign of weakness & instability. If I was rich I wouldn’t want my money going into that firm😬🥴
Shoooot,….with all the backstabbing going on there? I KNOW my money would be safe. They’d cut each others throats to prove they’re better lawyers while winning every case. They might cause me to end up doing time, but I’d be better off when I got out of the pen. 😂😂😂
Actually it's how well known the Lawyer is. Lawyers do bounce as partners to different companies. Some names could make the company look better. Just like a sports team
It's funny that the characters actually comment on how often the firm changes its name, and in the series finale Louis places an embargo on changing the name for the next five years.
Missing two names: Pearson Specter (between time Darby was removed and Litt was added) and Specter Litt (between time Pearson was removed and Zane was added).
I like how the series starts with Louis Litt wanting to be a partner at the firm and ends with him being a name partner and that too starting with his last name :- Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett. A true ending !
Because it was too early for Mike to be a name partner but later on he ran his own firm in Seattle with Harvey so maybe that firm was called Specter Ross. Mike wanted to help people.
People say that a serious law firm wouldn't survive so many name changes but considering what these jokers are up to over the course of the series, they wouldn'y have any credibility to lose anyway.
Last 2 season should not be canon or exist. That shit was just dumb at that point. Why even change the name and have all this drama. Money. I know. But still, have some integrity.
I like to believe that even Gordan Schmidt Van Dyke wasn't the original, long before Pearson and Hardman came along, Gordan, Schmidt and Van Dyke found some dirt on previous name partners and that kept happening for a very long time
Arthur reeves was the founder of the firm , and I would have guessed it started with Reeves LLP or simply Reeves, then when Stanley Gordon and his other partners found dirt on Arthur reeves. He disbarred him and took the firm and renamed the firm to Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke.
1:30 was so tagged on. Imagine working for YEARS as a top-notch lawyer and then 2 "younglings" get name partner after like 1-2 years. Also imagine going to clients and having to say: "Hi, I'm John Johnson and I work for Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams". Does NOT go off the tongue easily.
ZSLWW doesnt go to easy either. tbh the whole later seasons felt a bit weird, i get that they tried to raise the stakes and make it interesting again but it was convoluted as hell and the payoff was not worth the effort it took to keep up with it. @@INVINCIBLE-qs7no
