Vervets seem much more altruistic than say, macaques when it comes to caring for new orphaned babies. They almost vie for the honor of adopting a juvenile. I find them very endearing in the amount of compassion they often display with new introductions.
Thank you VMF for another wonderfully fun and educational video. I love watching Floki having fun, drinking some juice which is one of his favorites, entertaining everyone with his cute antics, investigating his surroundings, and of course trying to get to some of that milk in the bowl in a cage for the girls. He knows he's not supposed to have milk. lol. Bath time for little Floki 41:05, he will feel so much better when they rinse off all that sticky food his has stuck on his face, feet, hands, fur, and all over his body, but he sure is putting up a fuss! Look at that face! lol. Thank you Dave and all the amazing VMF volunteers, you do a wonderful job!!! P.S. Dave you have a very kind and good attitude about the thieves that stole so many things from the VMF tool shed, but from someone that has been stolen from, so many times, the people that steal should be arrested and made to make restitution either in the form of money or hard labor. There is no excuse for stealing, especially on such a grand scale. I forgive the thieves, but I feel they should face the consequences of their despicable actions.

Floki was really stealing the show, from bopping all over the enclosure, then his humorous antics trying to steal the girls milk, to the hateful bath. That was a chore and I appreciate your gentleness and compassion while bathing Floki. I also enjoyed seeing the monkeys in the trees and grass. And I was so happy to see Bru. This is sanctuary. These little monkeys r shot in the streets as residents think they r verman. The new borndvr taken as toys Nd put in gudh tanks til they die or thrown out in the streets as garbage. Really horrifying. This sanctuary is a blessing and these folks r all volunteers. Please donate
I will never tire of watching these videos. I love these monkey's very much.. but i have wondered why do you use such small shallow bowls to bath them? Maybe if it was a little deeper and a bit larger they wouldn't try to run.
SUPER FLOKI!! Defender of babies! And the cutest fluffball of love!! I do have a question, I know he has physical and mental limitations, but does he have stunted growth as well? It just seems like he's not as big as monkies his age or maybe I'm just seeing things wrong. Their faces are SO Cute😍🐵🙊I love Vervets eyes; looks like they have "eye-makeup" on👄👁️💅💄 And, how does one say this right, so it doesn't sound "strange"....lol.....Vervet males have that very bright, unique Blue on their backside, with their Testicles...it's kind of a pretty ocean 💙 Blue! I've never seen that before 😃

Babies learn correct behavior from their mothers but is Floki capable of learning appropriate behavior with/from larger monkeys in Colipso? Is that why he was removed? What is his fate? I think you mentioned their own "little group/ troop"?
I sure would absolutely love to volunteer there at VMF sometime! It be so hard for me NOT to get attached and I'd be a failure if I had to foster one of these beautiful creatures however, I'm a meat eater so being a vegan would be hard for me I would think

Seeing cheeky Floki trying to break into the milk cage had me laughing so hard…poor boy tried with all his might to find a way in there all for nothing!! 😂 He is such a silly boy and truly the star ⭐️ of this season…I absolutely just love his little hops, his cuddles with the babies, when someone tries to eat his food the face he makes…so many things! 😆 I am truly sorry your foundation was targeted and robbed of tools you need for every day work around the foundation, I understand how dire it is but I just hate that they chose to rob a foundation that does so much good. I pray things get better for you guys and I pray things get better as a whole for your economy so this does not continue to happen.
I sympathize with Floki. When was serving in the US Army I could just walk past the motor pool and somehow grease would get leap onto my uniform. However Spec-4 Nazario could assist a mechanic performing an annual service on his Jeep which included changing oil and repacking all the wheel bearings with grease and he would walk away still wearing a pristine, starched uniform.

What a Shame, I sympathize for those who are struggling, but that does Not give anyone the right to steal others' properties! If you take in an adult Vervet that has been injured and needs medical help and a place to recover like the one here with the amputated tail do you then release them to the Bandit troop? I think I have seen in past you sometimes try to return them to their own troop in the wild if you know where it is.
I know this might sound crazy, but if you have a bigger tub of water, it’s easier to rinse the animal in a larger tub. L O L plus if you have a plastic cup to scoop up the water and pour it on them, you can rinse them better, I only know this because this is how I wash and rinse my cat in the kitchen sink. If the monkeys are edgy about the bottom of the tub being slippery, you can put a rubber mat in there to make them feel safer.
In the special needs home, I like it when you will keep reminding us of which monkey has brain damage or which one is partially blind. I have a hard enough time trying to remember their names. Please continue to inform the viewers of the disabilities. Thank you.

we do buy our produce locally but due to covid we cannot hold educational programs
