Chris, this could be your penultimate award-winning episode for the Great Farm Clean-up! Mom is there for the last time, everything is changing... time to interview her and ask her how she FEELS! I know she doesn't like to be on camera, so sit her down, put the camera in the corner, give her a shot of whiskey, and interview her about the place! I want to see emotion, passion, reflection, (and some happy tears would be nice!). The Oscar will be yours! Cheers Mate, Director Shane.
Haha, thanks Shane! I did read this to mum - I think she said "no way in hell"! 🤣🤣
I'll have to let the Oscar go this year!
Always sad to see trees go, unless your the one cleaning up after them. Sometimes the space is more needed. Definitely looks like a different place.
The big gums were pretty much at the end of their lives anyway due to termites! Sure does look different 😲
Thanks Chris, wow indeed, a lot has changed since the last visit, I do hope your Mum is not too sad to see the garden decimated, even when you realise that change is inevitable it can still be difficult to witness ! It's certainly a shame to see mature but healthy trees removed, I wonder if the timber was made use of by anyone ? Good luck with all the Facebook listings, it's good to see things find a new home rather than going for scrap !
The large gums weren't very healthy Andy - they had termite infestations and were rather dangerous. Mum knew that much of the garden would go but I think it still was a bit of a shock!
And now, the end is near......
You are doing so well!👍
Thanks Dee. I'm not facing the final curtain though! 😆
Really getting cleaned up now. Thanks for taking us along
Thanks Cynthia, the job is nearing completion! 😊
What a beautiful sunset. Reminds me of my grandparents property in central west nsw ❤
I am going to miss the farm sunsets Emma, but the ones over Lake Nagambie are pretty special too!
A big change !!. I agree, It is a shame to lose those large trees, but what can you do. 😔👍
Nothing when you don't own the place anymore Alex! 🤔
You're a good man Chris
Thanks mate! 😊😊
Wow! Massive effort. ❤️
Thanks - I'm gradually getting there!
This is the first time I've realised how big the palm trees are! 😲
They certainly have got taller over the years! As kids, we used to swing on the branches!
It sure looks different now Chris.
Indeed! And I imagine it's going to change very quickly once we finish up! Thanks Katrina 😊
What a shame, to cut down all those beautiful old trees. I can understand the ground covering being cut BACK..not removed, and the trees bing trimmed back. But NEVER understand removing trees. They are so beneficial to the environment, in so many ways. NOW it's dirt, which erodes, doesn't contribute to the water cycle, (recall the Dust Bowl and what caused THAT) and gives NO shade in the warmer days/month. Just disgusting to see. SHAME on the people that cut them down! 🤬😡👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
I'd usually agree, but it seem like the new owner will be using it for productive land for his farm, and they still left a lot of the old trees.
Even though it is always a shame to see trees go, the big gums were infested with termites and were quite dangerous! Some of the other trees should never have been planted so close to buildings - but yeah I do agree it's a shame to lose trees unnecessarily! Ross will plant more - his farm has some great plantations.
