Great video. I am sorry you and other NI ebayers are having to deal with this. I am in the UK mainland and it may cost me a few sales a year but that is all. I can see how this must be a worrying time for ebay business in Northern Ireland.
I live on the border between the Republic and NI. We have a PO address in Garrison, because the fees to ship in and out of the Republic are batshit. Over the last year or so - when buying supplies for my antiques restoration business - I have repeatedly encountered sellers refusing to mail things to our NI postal address. So this nonsense is impacting my business here in the republic, as well. I needed a particular adhesive which comes from a manufacturer in England - a tiny bottle of glue which cost £24. They charged me £30 to ship it to the NI post box. From the UK - to the UK?! It’s a mess, and I’ve been an eBay buyer (and seller) since 1998 - I’m not sure where it goes from here…..
Wow, I am another local from Garrison and I know the place you speak of, beside the chemist. I'm an eBay seller too and was temporarily closed for about 4 months there and now I am only hearing this information now. I was just about to start up again. We need to do something about this.
Hi Alan, thank you so much for shining a light on this. I also have been trying to get some answers from EBay l, you are spot on with you conclusion, EBay just don’t know what is going on. I appreciate all your efforts and hope you get some support soon. All the best Simon
Big AL please Also take notice in Northern Ireland here we can’t even get lithium Ion batteries delivered to here off Amazon. However if I was to buy example a electric drill that includes the lithium ion battery with the drill it’s fine to ship but they are unable to ship lithium ion batteries separately it all makes no sense

That's not a problem with eBay though. I had one sent last week and the seller put an led in it for me so i would get the package. It arrived next day.
Although not a seller, I regularly need to buy various parts and equipment, it is already extremely difficult trying to find suppliers that will ship to NI. This is going to impact on business in general in NI, not just the sellers, our MP's and MLA's need to get involved in this urgently.

I’m from the South, and a few years ago, all my suppliers in mainland UK offered free delivery-but NOT to the Republic of Ireland. To work around this, I got a location in Enniskillen, just an hour from where I live. Long commute each day but I was able to save a ton of money on delivery. Perhaps you could consider getting a location in the South too, so you could manage the business from here?
Yes it seems to stay trading i have to open a new post in Ireland and a new post in Scotland to sell to northern ireland from ireland ??? I mean its crazy
I used to buy lots of used items on Ebay uk, but not anymore. We need a more pragmatic approach for used goods, with lower doc requirements and no 33% taxes.
I have been purchasing eBay items for 20 years for my business items that cannot be got in Europe btw, I have had issues for the last 5 years and it’s getting worse some of the bespoke products I used to make I just can’t do currently. You hit the nail on the head they want small businesses gone truth!
As someone from the Outer Hebrides living in Northern Ireland, this video really opened my eyes to the struggles businesses truly have, most craft artists and sellers I know back home have to maintain a fulltime job on top of their own business just to stay afloat and manage bills.
Yes vote for brexit did this. It is part of the brexit with drawl. All the people who want to remain eu are to blame. The half of what is to be stopped is only about to happen. Remember over the next month politicians will be voting in Stormont to strengthen this even more
It's not just Ebay, it's Amazon as well. I already noticed a huge amount of sellers not selling to use anymore. Sellers I have been using for years for repeated orders will no longer ship here. It's crazy. It's going to start costing us nearly double to buy things from the UK now.
When we were all in the EU then everyone was in the same boat. Now it's just not worth dealing with small markets. GB has had to backtrack on imposing their own building material standards, as everyone was "ok, good luck building houses then". Ultimately Brexit was about rich people conning poor people into giving up the rights they had, in return for nothing.
this is affecting my business too, the EU regulations are going to require any business in N.Ireland that wants to 'export' their manufactured products to the EU to provide full tracability on all materials used in its manufacture. Not so bad when you think about it but my business is also required to 'export' it's products to the UK as well because we use natural products governed by seperate regulations in the UK. Our politicians and the DBT need to sort this out. N.I. has a great opportunity for trade given it's interesting position regarding brexit. Many business owners I've spoken to also do not understand why our politicians are not taking the business opportunity in front of our country
Same here. I live in England and I’ve been a business seller for 13 years and in 22 days if it hasn’t turned round I will be out. I will bulk sell my stock on another site and pack it in. I complained to them but all I got was a generic message saying it worked in Germany. On top of the loss in sales they are changing the regulations for what I sell, so I would have to individually change hundreds of listings to comply or they will hide my listings. Stuff them, they don’t care about the business sellers so I won’t care about them when I leave. Sad times

@@johng.1703 you do realise Brexit is the reason that sales within and to the UK don’t have to comply with GPSR... so Brexit has actually made this easier for UK, apart from NI who ended up mixed in with the EU. We ran a ebay shop for 15 years with about 2000 items in northern ireland . It was only a small part of our business but was good for getting rid of surplus stock. I closed the store earlier this year as its now not worth it. Too many fees and paperwork along with postage getting more expensive. The problem with local mps and mlas is that most of them dont know how hard it is to run a business and now they are making it even more difficult.

I've been buying stuff from eBay for over 20 years, and ever since Brexit, the number of sellers in GB that won't send to Northern Ireland is enormous. What annoys me is that the sellers that do send stuff to NI have no idea that we are part of the UK. I've received multiple packages that have customs declarations taped to the sides, and others with multiple copies of invoices inside. I also used to order used car parts from one seller, and regardless of size, shipping was always free (I even had a pallet load of parts delivered free). Now, since Brexit, they charge for everything, yet still using Royal Mail or Parcel Force, for which they apologised for having to do.

Im in Northern Ireland too and quite frankly I'm scared for my future. I have a part time Ebay business and look after my 92 y.o. mum full time. I sell vintage and antique items, (ceramics, glass, etc.) and second hand and vintage clothing. I have messaged and rung EBay so many times and they promised to call me back too which predictably doesn't happen. I feel so depressed about the whole situation, not only because of what it means monetarily but it is literally my life, going out sourcing, listing and selling. Could we all maybe arrange a meeting with our MPs and get them to speak up on our behalf ? Thanks for your video, Linda.
You have nothing to worry about. There’s been a lot of wrong info being shared on TH-cam and forums. Second hand items introduced to the EU before 13th Dec 2024 are NOT required to have GPSR info included. Continue as you are selling second hand items until you sell something that’s introduced to the market after 13th Dec 2024
Ebay is a joke at this point one of the big issues is ebay has offshored all its customer service to an outside Agency . Along with increasing fees ppc ads etc they have killed the profits . Now free ads to private sellers is another kick in the nuts for full time traders . Hope you get sorted Al . Always thought they were better than Amazon . At this stage I'm looking at Amazon instead. Major headache .
Unbelievable, sorry you have to put up with this. Just another eBay storm of nonsense. The sellers have built the platform and continue to be treated like they are muck on the eBay shoes. I really hope you get this addressed and resolved. eBay do have people checking TH-cam for complaints like this so hopefully it does reach someone higher up. Im not sure if this helps but when you ring eBay ask to speak to a manager (they will try everything to say no, but just tell them you can wait and they will eventually put you through to someone higher up) All the best and good luck
yes, i know ebay look for bad publicity, but they simply dont seem to care than much about us Northern Irish, they never did when you can uncheck Northern Ireland but cannot uncheck England Scotland or Wales when it came to selling
it a european law. Amazon and other platforms needs to implement it as well!!!!! Btw. WEEE is recommended as well, CE for each article is required! That is law and there are now laywers and government organizations hunting for people not fulfilling it. Fine is up to 100.000 EUR. Sorry guys but ignoring it for the last years was not a valid option.
I am in NI myself. And gave up selling on eBay. I used to sell precious metals, gold and silver britannias and also proof coins etc. slowly but surely the increases in fees wiped out my margins. It worked out I only made £1.00 per sale. Once postage etc was taken out. Unfortunately the volume of sales was not large enough, combined with the fact precious metals fluctuate daily. Was too complicated for such a small operation to be profitable, as it would have required me to play the market with silver and gold contracts, to offset losses/gains. Plus I do not have the luxury like the bigger retailers, with charging premiums to buy back gold and silver with their massive businesses etc.
@@BigAl-Castle unfortunately not. I still use both as an investment vehicle however, within my portfolio as an insurance policy, in the event of stock market downturns over the long term. As well as to reduce counter party risk. Plus gold and silver Britannias are CGT free.

Much though I hate extra regulation: The brass bowls, no CE mark and from China, yet you suggest they are for food. How do you know they are brass and not contaminated with heavy metals which will poison people?
It's bonkers. This sounds like an issue for the UK government to sort out. Given the appalling abilities and distorted priorities of the current government, there's no chance of a solution. Although this is a situation arising from Brexit, the problem is the EU regulations, perhaps a petition method may work, but it comes back to the problem that the UK had pre-Brexit in getting issues dealt with.

I really feel for you as it's your main business. If there is any help I can give you please please let me know.
The information only needs to be filled in once, but you will likely sell the same item multiple times? So won't the additional cost only be once per item and then never again? Since you will reuse that information every time you sell that item?
Alan, I'm afraid that the only opportunity from these regulations is to incorporate a special purpose EU company and set it up as the "Product Rep" in the EU. A Brass-plate operation that can be as basic as a PO Box in Dundalk. Similarly you can provide your own CE certification and Declarations. I'm sure you don't want to be selling potentially dangerous.
Unfortunately, it's not only Ebay that is causing the problem. We even have Amazon sellers refusing to sell anything to anyone in Northern Ireland. Im completely over the nonsense, and it's so extremely frustrating to purchase anything. Is this happening because Northern Ireland voted to stay in the EU maybe we need to get the heck out of EU altogether like the mainland UK. I now have to use Amazon for most my business needs now because seller that I used to rely on for bulk buys in relation to my business no longer sell to NI. Most of the time I can find things cheaper on Amazon than eBay now so just makes sense to use Amazon.
This is the problem when you allow other platforms to run your business. eBay, Etsy, Google, Amazon, Paypal...etc. They will keep moving the goalposts.
I guess this applies to anyone outside of the EU (and NI) who wants to ship into the EU (or NI). Almost all products will need CE marking to state that they comply with relevant safety regulations. So it will apply to anyone shipping into EU and therefore applies to GB. It applies to anyone selling within the EU and NI. It’s therefore not an EBay requirement but an EU one. It doesn’t just apply to NI but all of the EU. It’ll probably be the end of cheap unmarked Chinese stuff coming into the EU (although they may just fake the CE marking). The EU would say that without this law then there’s no traceability of goods especially when it comes to safety. So for example, the “brass” bowls that you showed could have a toxic coating on them. Yes CE marking and the paper trial will push prices up and exclude some products but the EU will say it’s about safety. It’s hard to argue against the fact that most goods imported and sold within the EU should have a safety statement and the materials used should be safe and traceable. Sorry I know that’s not going to go down well but it’s the price of remaining within the EU legal system.
The Chinese have already tried to counterfeit the mark. What comes from China may have the CE mark with the C and E closer. This has been the case for years. And there have already been several warnings about the need to make sure of this by looking carefully at the mark on the box.
Northern Ireland is in the EU single market and the UK market. So you have to comply with the regulations of both markets you trade in. Sad but that is the law
Yea it is. I only wish GB have their regulations at the same time which meant we in NI would have more commercial choices to avoid the sheer levels of labour required
Yes how is it second hand items should have us resell the items with zero information not in the box and for the value like its going to take seconds to do its going to take 30 minutes minimum
it doesn't matter if new, used, or second hand, when you send goods across regulatory and customs borders you still need all the correct paperwork. the Brexit benefits only work from NI to GB and not the other way around. but if you want to be able to sell in both directions the goods need to be sourced in the EU as they have higher standards than the UK does.

Just found your channel I absolutely shocked stupid these people are they have no idea they are killing off or small businesses and harming people that really do struggle with even setting up a business . I will share your video onto Facebook . bless, you Helen, UK 😢🥰

Google Ads / Merchant gives you a custom option when going through Google shopping. Some of these are custom items, is there no option for that and if not there should be.
Hi Alan I'm sorry to hear this and I feel your anger and frustration. Back in 2016, pre-referendum, I met Nigel Dodds of the DUP outside his constituency office and asked him a question about this, albeit more generalised. I asked him. "I sell things to NI, GB, the EU and RoI. If we leave the EU, what will the effect be on my business with regard to a difference in processes, regulations, delivery costs and potential weakening of GBP to the Euro". He said one word. "None". A few days later I voted for Brexit. I'm lucky enough to have been able to register my business at an address in England but my turnover has reduced by about 60% because of this. How did we make such a mess of this! This kind of thing should have been ironed out long ago. Good luck mate.
Thanks ever so much for your comments and im glad you are safe but im saddened by your down fall of turnover. I have to wonder how hard this will hit northern Ireland
I think UK sellers shouldn't rest on their laurels over this as Starmer will have us back in the EU as soon as he can. The thing with this gpsr stuff is ebay doesnt give us examples of what to upload or add...for example does everything have to be filled out to become compliant or is some of it optional if you have it? It also seems silly that the gpsr applies to used items as these items will typically have lost such info and indeed have been manufactured long before even CE regulation. Also do other EU countries have the same problem as NI? In that France cannot sell to France for example. I think that the info submitted will never be used by anyone other than on newly manufactured products which may require recall....so I think you could just enter generic info, especially if you sell one-off items as who is to say the info you have entered is incorrect?
Went to eBay open in September not much info. I sell a lot to NI but will not be from Dec 13 every listing taking 30 to 45 minutes and as you say if it's not new. eBay did say not having gpsr will impact the visibility of listings. Lot easier on Amazon. God bless.
Hi Alan. I too am an NI based ebay business seller. From your understanding, can we simply switch off local/domestic sales to NI customers (not ideal) to choose to only sell to UK mainland and non-EU customers if we want? Thus avoiding having to comply with GSPR. I appreciate this model wouldn't suit everyone, especially those on a larger scale than I who have more EU sales. For me I sell mainly to UK so am considering this option.
@@Lisa-cj8cu my own circumstance is that my ebay sales to NI are a minority in comparison to UK mainland sales. It's not ideal, nor right but then these unfair regulations are being imposed on us all and we're having to each assess the situation individually and work out what is best and most cost effective.
This seems to be the answer ebay have not reached out to me regarding this but i do hope that they are clarify this, from all i have read if you are private or if you wish to sell to GB only you are safe from this major box ticking experience
@@BigAl-Castle indeed. The radio silence from ebay on this issue is alarming. I have just been on the laptop and switched off NI domestic sales as well as EU. So as of now I can sell an item to the far side of the world but not to my next door neighbour. Hope they bring clarity for all our sakes and especially thinking of you on your scale Alan.
@@BigAl-Castle I've just had ebay for Business Facebook support confirm this to me. NI sellers can turn off domestic sales and sell to GB and non-EU without having to comply with GPSR regs. Crazy to think but at least they have confirmed. I have been able to find lots of info on selling TO NI and EU, but nothing on our very specific situation of selling FROM NI so wanted this clarified so that we NI sellers wouldn't be expected to comply regardless in order to sell from here. It's a start to know this but obviously the huge issue for customers wishing to buy from NI continues.
Thank your DUP MP's , they went along with the seft centered, Boris Johnstown As they all said nothing would change in Northern Ireland if people voted for Brexit As the saying goes Brexit means Brexit , sadly
No I blame the stupid situation of this country, we get brexit but we don’t get brexit, we don’t know if we’re European Union or UK and it’s hurting us all, blaming DUP doesn’t change a single thing so it time to move on from the finger pointing and the I told you so’s, SDLP and sin fien were so focused on remaining in the EU because to them it was closer to a United Ireland even though they knew it would hurt us all and what happens if Ireland pulls out of the EU? Does the pro EU idiots still want to be part of the EU?
This was highlighted from the start. But Arlene took dodgy money to campaign for brexit. Spent it in London. The DUP don't do strategy, even common sense. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Brought a United Ireland forward by 10 yrs. Statue of Arlene in O'Connell Street Dublin in a few years.
Very interesting Al and stupidity at best. I live in N.Down & Ards area, needed help and reached out to MP Jim Shannon and counsellor Stephen McIlveen, both DUP stupidly after getting a similar lack of response when Iris Robinson was the sitting MP, years previously. All too busy only making themselves available for media exposure and dramatic speeches in Westminster, Guess who came knocking on the door within a few weeks looking for votes? Last time ever and they wonder why their support is forever waning. Good luck mate, cheers.

@@BigAl-Castle It's about time and long overdue that all the good people in Northern Ireland removed those two-faced politicians and replaced them with leaders who genuinely want to work for us all. Holidays, cars, jobs, holiday homes in Florida. They should have an 8 x 6 holiday home in Maghaberry or by the sea at Magilligan. Good luck mate.😀
This is ridiculous. How does this affect when a charity sells online? Am I meant to go and ask whoever donated it to tell me where, when, and why they bought it? Like I can't go and get CE approval from Waterford Crystal, for example, when they no longer exist.
I hate to stick up for eBay, but this is an EU directive, and unfortunately, whoever negotiated the brexit deal effectively left NI in the EU .Personally I sell around 100 items per week on eBay,we have decided not to sell in Europe or NI once the rules come in

It's not just Ebay, it's Amazon as well. I already noticed a huge amount of sellers not selling to use anymore. Sellers I have been using for years for repeated orders will no longer ship here. It's crazy. It's going to start costing us nearly double to buy things from the UK now.
Yes and some tiktok shops now too wont ship either yet I bought of them a few months ago!
This is not good jenny. I have contacted an MLA who hopefully is able to bring this issue to Northern Ireland
I’ve found that too, with Amazon.
this is affecting my business too, the EU regulations are going to require any business in N.Ireland that wants to 'export' their manufactured products to the EU to provide full tracability on all materials used in its manufacture.
There are no real business leaders in charge most are woke or green or orange
I would happily cut the EU out of my business but we are being forced to do this .
Sad times
Sorry to hear this, i do hope that Ebay find a way to ease this pain for all of us

Thanks for sharing!
Ebay need to sort this out. I ran an ebay business years ago ending in 2012 ish. Can't believe just how we in N.I are getting shafted. I have spent many, many thousands of pounds on their site.
Yes this is so true i have invested nearly 22 years in ebay growth and now it looks like after everything ebay have thrown at me this is going to be the end if i dont find another way to sell to my own country
NI isn't getting shafted, if it moving goods from a lower standards customs area in to a higher standards area, the problem is UK regulation not meeting the same standards as EU regulation. higher standards countries don't have this issue.
@@johng.1703 So your saying that UK standards have changed and have lowered? So the items that BigAl sells on ebay have all decreased in quality while sitting in his warehouse? Or do they all suddenly decrease in quality in December? So John what's your angle? It certainly isn't in helping out anyone in Northern Ireland that wants to buy and sell, you sound like a very bitter person. All I want to do is to be able to buy products, the same products that I could buy if I lived on the mainland.
@@DecrepitGaming what has changed is the regulatory system, goods from a 3rd country needs all the correct paperwork.
@@johng.1703 So folks like yourself are part of the problem not the solution. Regardless of what you may think your obviously not from here and if you are then your just a jobsworth. No idea why you would even throw your 2 cents in to be honest. The people of this country should not suffer because of the fools in Westminster or the unelected fools in Brussells.
Nice one, Alan. It's mental, I'm thinking of giving ebay a miss because of too much messing.
sell as a private seller free of fees and free of regulations
Blatantly obvious, the top end of town doesn't want small businesses to shadow them.
Well it seems we arent able to sell to northern ireland
Amazon are at this too. Plenty of times I've been told that simple items can't be shipped to my location (Belfast). It's a shitshow.
Yes you are correct im hearing this so much
I'm a fellow Northern Irishman and I have been with eBay for about the last 12 years. I have accumulated over 500 transactions without a single negative feedback. I should say that I have been an amateur buyer and seller. In other words, I don't depend on eBay for my main income. I'm simply an amateur woodworker and most of my transaction relate to buying or selling e,g. exotic wood, tools etc. During the past year I've tried to buy certain items mainly from England and the answer I get is "We don't post to Northern Ireland". I really feel for you as it's your main business. If there is any help I can give you please please let me know.
The information only needs to be filled in once, but you will likely sell the same item multiple times? So won't the additional cost only be once per item and then never again? Since you will reuse that information every time you sell that item?
Yes but i have 13000 seperate products
Alan, I'm afraid that the only opportunity from these regulations is to incorporate a special purpose EU company and set it up as the "Product Rep" in the EU. A Brass-plate operation that can be as basic as a PO Box in Dundalk. Similarly you can provide your own CE certification and Declarations. I'm sure you don't want to be selling potentially dangerous.
No you can't
Still need a responsible person they get sued if your product kills someone
Can you tell me if its the same for Scotland
No Scotland is a part of GB so your fine unless you want to sell to me in Northern Ireland
How do I know because I have tried to purchase items from Amazon and it states its unable to send to my address and to change it how on earth can I do that.
That’s balls - Northern Ireland didn’t vote to stay in the EU
We voted as part of the whole United Kingdom to leave the EU as a whole
@@MervynThompson-dw2jb did you miss the bit were Boris sold us down the river. There's still a "NI protocol" and it's only going to get worse until the NI MPs demand a proper, actual Brexit.
It’s happening because of the Windsor Framework which we had no say in.
@MervynThompson-dw2jb ... I didn't vote infact I never do vote, so I'm just as confused as you. I'm especially over the bs trying to purchase items sometimes even from the same company on Amazon and they will sell me one product but refuse to sell me another one of their products to the same address make it make sense. How are we being treated like this when the mainland is just fine for everything. 🙄 Edit...I was under the impression that Northern Ireland had voted to remain in the EU whilst everyone else wanted to leave. I didn't really care either way, to be honest with you. I just want to be able to purchase things without all this nonsense going on.
@wintersnowowen2254 Sounds like the norm for us over here. We just have to accept all the bs aimed our way these days.
Only 6:58 so far but very interesting. First question was about does in include 2nd hand items which you answered there it does. Second question I was thinking is. Can you not require the same data that ebay requires from the seller you are buying from?
Used items are included if you are a business if you are a private seller the answer is no
No the data has to be reentered right now which is a disgrace tbh
@@BigAl-Castle I'm an NI based Web designer. Interested in helping find a solution to help out. Maybe there is a way to use a product feed api or something or just streamline the data input process.
this is a Brexit problem, and there are extra costs associated with international standards. oh and this isn't an EU problem or issue, we the UK instigated these regulations for 3rd countries, the problem you have is sourcing things from within GB, which is a 3rd country and is subject to a lot of red tape, what you really need to do is take advantage of Brexit and buy from within the EU and sell to the UK, not the other way around. goods originating in the EU there isn't any issues with, goods from GB with much lower standards and no regulatory alignment is where you will have problems.
I would love to take advantage of the EU but that stopped when brexit occurred no trader can do business with us due to taxes it really doesnt work the way its supposed to

The majority in England and Wales eclipsed the minority in England as well as adding the majorities in Scotland and Northern Ireland combined.
This is crazy of course, and thanks go to Boris and Farage. I have recently had difficulties getting things from England through ebay "does not post to N.Ireland" . One supplier didn’t show this and took my money but no delivery.

Farage had nothing to do with the NI Protocol, but you are right about Boris, he signed off on it. It was the EU that imposed the rules, and Boris who agreed to the rules. As a citizen in the North of Ireland I have literally purchased thousands of items on Ebay. Just lately I've noticed a lot of sellers on Ebay based in Britain are refusing or will not sell their products to us here in the North for whatever reason.
Because it takes so long to find the information needed. Not worth the time unless you sell certain things regularly
I've yet to have an issue buying anything
You are not a citizen, but you are a subject of Charlie.
I've never had a problem purchasing anything from Ebay... I'm in Belfast, northern Ireland.
Apparently! eBay won’t be available to NI from December
Let me understand this. If you are a business in NI and you sell to NI but you sell far more to England and Scotland and Wales, can you (not that I’d want to) just not strike off selling your items to NI, to get around this issue? Amazon I don’t think are implementing this like eBay are.

Article 51 can mean that you don’t need to add the additional information required by the GPSR to listings for consumer products sold in the EU or Northern Ireland before 13 December 2024.
So this should just affect your new stock, not old stock.
Aaaah well no. If you resell items for consumer use even if used must have documents as per new GSPR
@@BigAl-Castle Yes, I understand what you're saying. My point was slightly different, what I meant by my statement was if you have stock that is already listed you don't need to retroactively provide the documents. From Northern Ireland. Stopped using eBay since brexit. The ‘doesn’t ship to northern Ireland’ has been happening in eBay for years. I now have to use Amazon for most my business needs now because seller that I used to rely on for bulk buys in relation to my business no longer sell to NI. Most of the time I can find things cheaper on Amazon than eBay now so just makes sense to use Amazon.
This is where amazon are also starting to allow customers to stop selling to northern ireland by postal expenses
This is the problem when you allow other platforms to run your business. eBay, Etsy, Google, Amazon, Paypal...etc. They will keep moving the goalposts.
Yes jack i agree its been hard over the years with all the goal posts being moved
Well said Jack.
Will this apply to private sells on eBay? I am looking to flip some high electronics
No you are ok all privates are free and regulations free also
I guess this applies to anyone outside of the EU (and NI) who wants to ship into the EU (or NI).
It only applies to businesses private sellers are exempt
The Chinese have already tried to counterfeit the mark. What comes from China may have the CE mark with the C and E closer. This has been the case for years. And there have already been several warnings about the need to make sure of this by looking carefully at the mark on the box.
Northern Ireland is in the EU single market and the UK market. So you have to comply with the regulations of both markets you trade in. Sad but that is the law
Yea it is. I only wish GB have their regulations at the same time which meant we in NI would have more commercial choices to avoid the sheer levels of labour required
@ my suggestion is ask your suppliers to provide all the UK and EU listing details and documentation.
I can understand needing this information for new items, but for second hand items, this is absolutely ludicrous.
@@rgoonewardene380 its more than having 9nformation on the item. Sorry but you need for EU trade:
Verpackg = licensing of packages in every country with a named representative
EUDR = if your products using paper/Wood you need to document where it comes from
CRC = webshop and website needs to be compliant for people having limitations
GPSR = all security updates and informations needs to be visible even where it comes from/manufacturer
CE = not allowed to sell anything within EU without certification of CE class
Weeee = electro waste law. You need a license in every country you want to sell, you need to register every product
All of the above laws having heavy fines in case not implemented. I know UK seller doesn‘t care but with GPSR it has now a department and lawyers interested to detect every seller not fullfilling it.

Hi Alan
I'm sorry to hear this and I feel your anger and frustration.
Agree. Its such a mess. Asking suppliers to CE mark items that are inert at best is utter BS.
Is that british standard BS LOL
I think UK sellers shouldn't rest on their laurels over this as Starmer will have us back in the EU as soon as he can. The thing with this gpsr stuff is ebay doesnt give us examples of what to upload or add...for example does everything have to be filled out to become compliant or is some of it optional if you have it? It also seems silly that the gpsr applies to used items as these items will typically have lost such info and indeed have been manufactured long before even CE regulation. Also do other EU countries have the same problem as NI? In that France cannot sell to France for example. I think that the info submitted will never be used by anyone other than on newly manufactured products which may require recall....so I think you could just enter generic info, especially if you sell one-off items as who is to say the info you have entered is incorrect?
everyone in the EU has to do it the same as NI
Oh im not convinced anyone will save anyone when it comes to uk politics tbh ive lost all levels of faith

Many companies on Amazon do not sell to Northern Ireland either.
