It’s Tom with Satori Graphics back with another graphic design Illustrator tutorial. I mentioned yesterday that I was going to bring an Illustrator typography tutorial, and so here we are with one techniques on how to design and create vector brush stroke typography.
You don’t need a Wacom drawing tablet, or even actual ink, you can use the vectors linked below, or you can download your own brush stroke vectors elsewhere online. I show you how to use them with typography in Illustrator, to make neat lettering with 2 techniques.

Hi great tutorial but I am confused, should I be using illustrator brushes or Photoshop ones for textures and shading?
Nice one but to avoid drawing your own path, use the "Group Selection" tool, select the edge of the type and duplicate it to a new layer, then apply the brush and mask....

Can you make a on what size of Art board is best to use. Example like Logos, Instagram and phone and so on
It would depend on the design. So for example a poster would need to be the size of the printed poster, and if you were designing a Twitter banner, then it would need to be the right pixel size. But for logos, it doesn't matter so much, it just needs to be large. I often design a logo at 2,000 pixels x 2,000 pixels

when i select a vector brush in an ai file, there's only like a path/ line unlike yours which shows many blue boxes which i think indicates it's an outline? help what do i do

Command + T on a Mac, and Control + T on a PC
and then hold down shift and click and drag :)

hahaha! sorry I'm so busy that I mixed the commands up with Photoshop.
You just take the selection tool (black arrow) and select the object, and then hold down shift and click and drag
