The way I understood it, it's about someone who's being treated like a nobody in society, and they want to be treated as an equal. They have expectations to live up to, but they were not able to do that, resulting in this. They are judged for their actions and beliefs just because of who they are; their pure and innocent feelings are seen as sins, all because of who they are in society. They don't believe in love because of how the world treated them, because if love really exists, why are some treated like trash or seen as someone of no importance? When facing these problems, no one was by their side and they had to face it all alone. Because of all this, they wanted to switch places with a princess, they wanted to feel honored and respected. But, in the end, they found the meaning of their existence when they accepted their self for who they really are and they realized the true meaning of love.

Another theory I just read is that it could also be about a princess who has to live up to expectations but wants to live like a kid, laugh, and let loose but she is scolded for it

​​@@Spottedshade For how i view both The song in Project sekai (Which Changes the title spelling) and the original MV, the song imo is a critic of the novel "Sonechka" which is about a love life of a girl whose life was totally immersed on literature. This song is basically saying to not bases our own life on certain type of literature and way of think (Romance and nobility respectively ) because is filled with cliches that even if they are lovely, they are not real and can led to some delusions.

Ok so I think this is about a princess who's about to be crowned who even though she's royalty she still likes to play outside and do stuff considered childish and for this people don't take her seriously, and she always has to apologize for her actions. what i personally understood is that this is someone who felt betrayed or simply left by someone they love, probably the only person that was there for them, and everyone mocks them too, so the coronation they’re talking about is probably su1c1d3, and the crown would be some kind of angel haloe while sonechka would be probably paradise

⁠@@daisee2657 I feel like not every vocaloid song is about suicide and this certainly does not feel like one of them.
I interpreted the song as an individual getting crushed by others and their own expectations.
Wanting to be loved yet receiving none as they fail to meet unrealistic expectations after expectations. She convinces herself not to blame the world and that if she continues to improve herself, one day she’d be “coronated like Sonya”.
But just as the song nears the end and her repeated defeats begin to wear her down and turn her bitter, she realises yes there is no benefit to blaming the world, but there’s no good in blaming herself as well.
As her sister said, and what she had misunderstood as belittlement, was that her insecurities and fears are pure and natural, and she need not be ashamed of them.
In the end, she realises there is no need to frustrate oneself over seeking love if one learns to simply love oneself.
And with that epiphany, she had removed the tunnel vision that blinded her, rediscovering the many other hidden colours of life she had previously glossed over.
