    Thank you for Sesame Street (And all my other purchases)! Really enjoyed being able to talk to you as have been a massive fan of your videos since I found the channel. I must say that your price and presentation of sets at these events must be the best I definitively have seen! Lastly thank you for the little shoutout (Ben), it really means a lot :))

      Hi Ben - thanks for your comment and thanks for buying a few things from my stall last week. Really nice to meet you too. It takes a while to bag and label all the sets up, but it's definitely worth it.

    Hi Iain, appreciate the shoutout. I will share it with Emile - he will love it.. He loved taking the selfie with the Lego celebrity (i.e. you) Look forward to seeing you again at the next events in the future!

    Sometimes its just too close to Christmase for these types of sales.
    The good thing it was a much more relaxed day then usual for you and your partner.
    It is!always nice to get know what people like for future references.
    Have a wonderful day.

      Thanks for watching. Unfortunately Leeds is a bit far for me to go to a Brick Festival - I tend to stick to locations that I can get to in a couple of hours or so.

    Cheers Iain a great run through, you’re great at talking to a camera I wish I could lol. I love all the geeky number stats! A profits a profit and it’s still a decent amount too! To go out for the day, meet people and make £600 is good day :)
    I’m intrigued to see how these gwp fair in time, like you say they’re small, fairly cheap and not everyone can get them. I have 12 blacktron cruisers so I hope they do increase haha. The flowerpot and starwars ones are going well!

    • @iainsbricks
      @iainsbricks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Gaz. I've gotten used to talking to the camera now. I was trying to do the whole thing in one take, but I messed up and did it in 2!
      Yes, a profit is a profit - I think I've been spoilt by earlier, more successful Brick Festivals.
      Gwps can go up in value, but a lot of the time they will remain between the £15 and £25 Mark, depending on their size. Selling early, just after release can sometimes be worthwhile

    • @GazRsExtremeBrickMachines
      @GazRsExtremeBrickMachines 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I’ve noticed they can go upto £40 on eBay early on, why people don’t wait a few days and pay £30 baffles me!
      The cheapest flower pot is £33 now, doing well and you only had to spend £130 to get that I think.
      BTW I was reading the terms on the latest houses of the world 4 and it says 1 per house hold unless I’m reading things wrong. When I buy big I do all the orders separately like I’m sure you do and always get the same GWP with each order. Like with the 5 haunted houses I got 5 Christmas markets etc.
      Was wondering if they’ve changed things

    I’ve only ever been to one brick festival and that was right in my home town. I went really to see what builds were on display and was disappointed to find there wasn’t that many. I did end up buying something though and was a set I was looking to buy on eBay only to find it cheaper at the fair.

    • @iainsbricks
      @iainsbricks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Simon, I do think Brick Festivals need to get more and different models to display. Some sellers at these events have good prices, but some can be expensive

    • @garethsmith2250
      @garethsmith2250 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The writing is on the walls for these festivals expensive to get in and not supported by Lego as not official. Also other TH-camrs who sell are doing videos on generic toys fairs and now what not!

    • @iainsbricks
      @iainsbricks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that a couple of people had probably dropped out last minute - still glad I went though.

    • @iainsbricks
      @iainsbricks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the events will continue, but they maybe need to vary display sets a bit more, or have more of a variety of sets / different sellers etc. To keep the shows fresh. There will always be other toy fairs and other ways of selling Lego - I for example am not a fan of using ebay for selling Lego, but I buy things off there all the time. Whatnot is just a new thing and it could be quite successful. Don't knock it till you've tried it.

  • @MrWickedpaul

    I saw it advertised but I didn’t go as it’s to close to Christmas, and these events most of things for sale aren’t cheap so don’t have the extra money as I do other months. Yes some people have some bargains for sale but is it worth paying entrance and travel to find out? If there aren’t any I’ve spent money for nothing.

    Evening. Does it worry you a bit that say you are spending £1,000 - £2,000 on new sets each month but only getting a chance to sell these sets say 3-4 times a year?
    What other options are you looking at? Other people have been going to Toy fairs but haven't had a much luck with sales. Would you think about eBay / Amazon / Bricklink? Or looking at other ways?

    • @iainsbricks
      @iainsbricks  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Mark. I ended up going to 6 Brick Festivals this year and I did pretty well at 5 of them- unfortunately I'm only booked into 2 so far next year, but I also will be selling at three other non-brick festival Lego events. I would consider ebay i guess or Bricklink if I needed to, but for now I will stick with the Lego fairs for now.
