Re: the government bounty on snakes, I haven't heard of it in Guam, but I know that happened once in India--and totally backfired. Since you could get money for dead snakes, people started breeding them just to kill them & turn them in. The government got wise to this and stopped the program....so everybody who was breeding just let the snakes go, and there ended up being even more wild snakes than they'd started with.
I’ve never heard of the incentive for bringing in snake bodies 😂 My family would’ve definitely been cashing in since I wash young. You’re bound to run into more snakes in areas closer to the Jungle. So I guess it kinda depends. I personally seen snakes my entire life on Guam. One night 10 throughout the night. But we were at our family ranch which is essentially the middle of the jungle 🤷🏻♀️ A snake also ATE THROUGH MY AIRCON and CUDDLED ME in bed 🤢🤮😭 I woke up that night because I was having a bad dream I was being strangled by a giant centipede.
Drive down to Malesso'/Merizo where the old bell tower is during the day. You'll be wiping your car in no time.
Maybe they should try bird farms/hatcheries. like how there are trout/salmon/coral farms.
If you go to war in the pacific national park Asan beach area on Friday nights from 6-9 you can help them look for snakes

@ right traumatized BUT I do believe that maybe you have a point. Increase in other birds could mean the snake numbers are decreasing. Makes sense.
We had birds on the military bases though. The fencing surrounding the bases have snake traps on them every so many feet.
