Amazing, I saw the other video you had up of this and I have been wondering if you had more footage of it and well here it is! Such a unique design for a side loader, Garwood has always made some cool side loaders. Sad to see they aren't in production anymore :( Just like a lot of cool and old things these days.
Just to clarify, Garpac and Garwood are two different builders of garbage trucks, Garwood is still around today and continues to build small side loaders, it's the Garpacs which went out of production over 20 years ago.
If you don't already know, there were bigger Garpac side loaders for household runs, Cleanaway had a bunch of 4x2 ACCOs with comb lifters doing recycling in Sydney and Lake Mac Council had a fleet of them with grab arms, there were quite a few of them out there in the past.
@AussieGarbo you have jogged my memory, I remember seeing a photo of the Lake Macquarie ones, they were big bodies. I also now remember the ones that cleanaway had, I am pretty sure the photo of the 4x2 one was actually a Blacktown truck.
Cracking catch mitch, shame these cool little rigs were uncommon and not documented more:(
Thanks for sharing this rare video
Now this is something ive never seen before, it reminds me of the Inverell recycle unit, and with that compacter is even crazier.
I uploaded a video a while ago you may not have seen titled "JR Richards Garpac SL" - hit it up for your enjoyment.
@ thanks

Been waiting to see if you had more footage of this truck or not, would of been cool if they made these trucks for residential work.
