My HARDEST 72 Hours At Sea: Emergency Anchoring, Warships & Bad Weather
Surrounding circumstances and conditions are probably the greatest variables when the ship is at sea. It may become necessary all of a sudden to drop anchor in an emergency in case of steering failure, probable collision, manoeuvring in shallow waters etc.
As with any emergency operation, dropping anchor under the circumstances requires swift action that can prevent any imminent danger. The handling of the vessel and her anchor will differ as per the characteristics but the above points give a general direction to the procedure that is required in such a case.
“Fare wind and Calm Seas” - this is what a seafarer hopes for when he is sailing at high seas. However, nature is bound to show ups and downs, and rough weather may hit a vessel in open sea with no time to react. Even if there is a practice of sending pre weather warning to ships for route change or speed alterations, every seaman has experienced high swell and unfriendly side of the sea.
Incidents in recent years have highlighted the hazards of extreme weather at sea, emphasizing the need for action to better protect life and property aboard vessels. Hurricane force winds and phenomenal waves, in particular, endanger sea-going vessels regardless of size. Ships operating in high latitudes also face the threat of freezing spray, in addition to the more well-known hazards created by icebergs and sea ice. Despite the availability of high-resolution satellite imagery, increasingly skilful numerical weather prediction models and improved forecasting services, in the twenty-first century vessels continue to be lost at sea.

Recently surfshark is not working at China. So don’t forget to install another vpn before coming to China!😅
Always fun to see ship operations.Especially seeing the bridge at night.
Thanks Ken
The way you handle the situation and your smartness , dude you should be the chief officer of the ship👍😊 keep going
I appreciate that Manoj
Wait, he is chief exec, right?
@@Solteratube No,He is 2nd Officer on board
I feel it in my soul that KSN will have four rings on his shoulders before he's 30!!! Next step from that commodore of the fleet!
Maersk always makes Europeans captains then others are aob
The way you are handling the situation it looks like the shipping company got a new captain ready by the end of this trip
Thank you
I am working in Shipping and logistics company. As usual everytime I found your video very Informative, instresting & the most important thing is your content motivates me to do my job more passionately. I like each & everything about the Shipping 🚢 i.e. Port operations, Loading, Discharging containers, anchoring, tugboats etc.
We both are working for same industry.
I wish you all the best for your future Journey with lots of love ❤
Glad it was helpful! Niraj
Brilliantly done! The cinematography is amazing! It’s only outdone by your expertise in doing your job. You’re an outstanding asset to your employer. Stay Safe
Thank you so much 😀
Amazing video as always! Love the sunset and you do an incredible job explaining what's going on.
Thanks so much!
Hey Karan - I have worked in exports for more than a decade and I used to keep shouting at all the shipping lines and their agents for my material, however, i must say this is the other side of the coin and i admit its not an easy life. Thru this video i would like to thank you and all those shipping lines who helped me to take my material to all the different ports of the world, without you people it would have been an impossible tasks.....tk care guys..life at sea is not easy.....i enjoy seeing all this and i feel i become more and more humble after seeing the big expanse of the mother earth....thank you
Another great video. I appreciate all the electronic instruments that the ship now has making it possible to be able to navigate with, but it is very disconcerting having poor visual due to bad weather. Some great views entering port as night. 👍
Thanks Tom
Aileron shaped hydrofoils can increase the ship control, and also in emergency braking and in high traffic if they are fixed to be opened into the submarine sideways water flow. They are currently absent in all ships but they can enable a very high level precision control of ships at all times. They can be used to very quickly bring the speed down, instead of a full helm turn. You should suggest the concept to your captain and also to your shipping company and let them know about it too.
actually - when you think about it... thats what you do when you are in a rowing boat or canoe... you push you paddle in the water to steady or stop. How no one has thought of this concept upscaled to ships until now... wow.
You are so hardworking literally you've liked and replied most of the comments loads of love ❤❤❤
I try my best
These videos are fascinating. Just subscribed because this is quality!
Welcome aboard!
Thank you
The best film ever...thank you very much...come back Karanvir asap...please...greetings from Gdańsk Poland

I commend you captain. As a small craft captain myself, I have no idea the stress level entering the channels with a boat of your size. Thats why you get paid the really big bucks.
Your positive mindset is a pleasure to watch.

Insane quality in this video Karanvir! A question. How stressful of a career do you think it is being in the merchant navy? Like when you're sailing do you get enough sleep, and can enjoy life, or are you very drained, and does the time off make up for it? I am consider joining, but don't know how 'tough' it is.
Thank you so much
