You keep using the word "identical" while then saying how they are different. I think you mean "similar". What about the quality and sturdiness of each? The height of the handle is less important than the sturdiness. What about scuffing and scratching? What about the sturdiness of the wheels? This is a completely unhelpful "review".
They make a lot more than two identical models. They are always making nominal updates and have products in different price ranges for different people. They need change the styling to modern times and look different from the competition and they even have different models in their stores than they sell on Amazon. All very similar in size and capacity but different from one another to confuse the general public and ultimately increase their bottom line.
The Freeform is polypropylene, the Omni 2 is diamond polycarbonate, much stronger and sturdy. I had the Omni PC and changed to the Omni 2. Would go back to the Omni PC (also diamond polycarbonate) in a heartbeat.

The omni 2 is way bigger than the 62” that US domestic airline’s require. it measures 65”. They’ll charge you for another bag because of that.
What are these numbers? That carry on is 21 no and the checked 28?

What about the thickness of the outer shells? Do you find one sturdier than the other?
