I've stayed there many times, but won't know if that changed, too. Once I move to Vegas we should collab; I do video, film, aerial, but am not photogenic like you.
I believe the California hotel one block off of Fremont was one of the last holdouts for resort fees. Started charging about 15 bucks a night earlier this year.
I love to stay at the Golden Nugget. You can't beat the price, and plus such cool history. Great video. Found you through Adam The Woo. Looking forward to diving into your content. Take care.
I am so grateful to you for sharing this video! I will be going in 2 days and this really helped me understand all the amenities. I also really enjoyed the cutesy historical facts part - thank you!
Thank you for your excellent video of this resort. I appreciate the history you gave us, history is a dying art amongst a lot of people. I so appreciate a daytime view of everything. Often times we get a view in the evening and it is hard to see everything in the rooms as well as through the masses in the casinos and pools. Great job, thanks again!
Thank you C.Rice. DT is intimidating since there is so much history. Dates and facts were a bit all over the place when I was researching. I HOPE I got it right.
Another great video. I never knew any of this about the Golden Nugget. I usually just come to gamble, eat and drink. Thank you for all your videos. I need to see more of the casinos. Plus I'll save money while walking. :) As of this comment I have 6 days to Vegas!!!!!
A little exercise and maybe saving money while taking in the sights. HAHA well, I'm not sure how much of that is true. There are plenty of good and drink options in DT and in the Golden Nugget.
I enjoyed this video very much, Dani. I've never really looked around the GN during my Vegas vacations, but I will definitely check it out next time, as I as staying downtown for part of the trip. Looking forward to whatever you do next.
Great video! Your videos are very informative, I stayed at the GN about 20 yrs. ago and I am impressed with all the restaurants and updates made. In recent years I have always stayed on the strip but this video has me thinking I might try the GN next time. Thanks Dani!
Another great vid~ Claim Jumper at the Nugget is my GO TO place when visiting downtown. I love to go down there & watch bands & then get a turkey club or ruben at Claim Jumper~ super great restaurant. I went to Vic & Anthony's once & it was fantanstic!
So neat of a video Dani, and Gold Nugget is such a fine place usually. I like to win, and not lose and nobody wants to lose. It is a great casino to visit, stay, and have a sizzling time. Joseph Fallon
Nice video! Never stayed at Golden Nugget, but i like to play blackjack out by the pool at nights when i wonder into Fremont. Can you do a tour video of the Mandalay Bay/Delano, even though i visit practically every other month. It's always nice to see videos of walkthroughs when im missing my home away from home!
Great job 👍 , Didn't realize there was so much to it I guess I've only seen the front from Fremont street ,, Pool area looks way cool love the shark tank great job as always take care
Great tour of a great property. I love GN, nicest place downtown, equal to most resorts on the strip. I'm a low roller table game player, when we stay at the GN it's a 5 minute walk to low limit tables, on the strip it more like a 30 minute walk.
Tilman Fertitta owns the Nugget today. He is from Houston and Galveston.. He is a friend of mine. I spent 16 years in Houston and Galveston...yes Laundries Inc. Yes Vic is Tilman's dad and I think Anthony was another close relative. Great steak restaurant!
Great video. I stayed at golden nugget and I went on the slide the tank. I was so scared cause I'm in my 50's, but a 10 year old helped me with confidence. Just wanted to say I did it. Try it, its fun. Thx
Thanks for the video. Lived there in 2010-12 and didn't know anything about the nugget. Will you be doing a video of the Cosmopolitan? I worked there when I lived there and it's an amazing hotel.
I witnessed a 10.2 million dollar jackpot there about 12 years ago...loved it there...not too sure about now though...Golden Nugget is great but Fremont St. Is getting very busy!
Great video! Golden Nuggett has resort fees of about 30 dollars per night with tax. They also charge additional fees for early check in or smoking rooms. This all started not too long ago. But it is a great downtown hotel and alot of fun! You showed it off well!
Glad to see a downtown place getting recognition. I've only stayed on the strip, but the GN seems to be calling me. Punk Rock Bowling is on Memorial Day. Kind of crowded but lots of colorful characters (spiked hair, piercings, leather, boots, etc).
Oooh! I read about that and I was so confused because I thought they were talking about the movie. I didn't know there was a reality show with that name. Haha
Great Video, I have been to the Golden Nugget numerous times but I did not know about all that was in your video. Do you ever Gamble in any of the Casinos ,or is that a no-no for residents of Las Vegas? It would be hard to live there, and not Gamble if you know what I mean. Well Thanks again for posting this video, I am looking forward to your next one!
We were there in August 2018. Enjoyed it so much going back again this July. The "better" hotel casino in downtown Pool was great, spent the most time there. And your video Dani was fantastic. Gonna look for more. Cheers!!
Great job! I liked the video, it was the only one I thought was thorough and didn’t have any irrelevant stuff to fill up time. Thank you for uploading!
Hi Dani Did you eat at the chart house restaurant at the Golden Nugget? It’s my favorite. And they have a very hilarious waiter there you should meet him.
very good video girl. im new to vegas. not really feeling it.im from los angeles.. but its because i dont know many people. hopefully that changes. lol.
60years ago went stood in front of the GN while a filmed took our pictures for about 10 minutes while dad watched us mom tossed nickles down the slots. It all looked completely different. The now facade was all twinkling light.
I usually stay at Paris Ballys or Flamingo when I go but am staying at the Nugget this weekend. Is the crowd there usually pretty calm, older, younger? What’s the crowd like?
In 1971 Steve Wynn bought a little strip of land, about 50 ft wide, on Flamingo Road next to Caesars Palace from the Howard Hughes Corp. Wynn let it be known that he would build the world's narrowest "slum" casino next to the very expensive Caesars Palace. The Caesars Place execs went nuts and bought the land from Wynn at a very inflated price. Wynn used that profit to buy a controlling interest in the downtown Golden Nugget (GN). Downtown Vegas was very low rent at that time, and all the experts said upgrading the GN in a luxury casino was insane, but the GN made a profit. Wynn used his successful casino owner reputation from the GN to finance the building of the Mirage with $600 million in junk bonds, and everyone said Wynn was nuts. The Mirage went on to make a huge profit and everyone got into the mega-casino building business......So a little 50 ft strip of land on Flaming Rd completely changed Vegas.
A taxi driver who took us from the strip to Downtown told us this story Almost word by word as you wrote it. So I guess this has become well known among locals
Yes - they started resort fees a few years ago. It started with only a $5 "Fremont Street Experience" fee - then went to over $25. Normally, I get a few nights comp'd here every year, so it doesn't affect me that much. Have stayed here almost every year for the last 20 years. I am slowing getting away from the GN - it's an amazing property, but way too crowded and what I used to get (express check-in, free upgrades, etc) aren't happening at my level anymore. Customer Service has declined with the increased number of guests they must attend too (and I know for certain that high rollers get EXCELLENT service (which they should)).
I stayed at the Golden Nugget shortly after the renovation from 2007 or 5 it's a gorgeous Hotel I would recommend everybody stay there if they do go to Vegas
This was the first hotel I stayed at on my first trip to Vegas back in 91. I stay on the strip now-a-days. They had the water slide through the shark tank even back then.
Stay in their Rush Tower for the first two weeks of my trip every summer... Great video, but it makes me feel kinda homesick. Oh well, it's only 11 months until I'm back :)
Last time I stayed here was way back in the mid to late 90s. Way more towers now. The company that owns Claim Jumper, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Rain Forest, etc. also owns this casino. This Claim Jumper was the only one open for breakfast.
My buddy gets tons of comps at the Venetian so I have stayed there about 10 times, but I prefer the Golden Nugget; The people are super friendly and the blackjack is cheap and fun.
Another good video, I will be staying there the middle of August and yes they charge a $33 Resort fee.
Oh darn. Thanks for the correction. Do they have free parking for hotel guest? Have a great trip and don't forget your swimsuit!
I've stayed there many times, but won't know if that changed, too. Once I move to Vegas we should collab; I do video, film, aerial, but am not photogenic like you.
Yes, parking is free for hotel guests :)
Dani.702 yes they do have free parking for hotel guest.
I believe the California hotel one block off of Fremont was one of the last holdouts for resort fees. Started charging about 15 bucks a night earlier this year.
Another classic, it's fun watching you progress through your work history, I can tell you love what you do 😊
I love to stay at the Golden Nugget.
Another very entertaining video. I very much enjoyed watching and I am looking forward to your next upload.
Great video. Loved the pool area. Never realised how good a downtown hotel could be. Am staying there next time for sure.
Great tour and I loved the history !!
Hi Dani. Thanks for the great video. Now you have me considering a stay here when I come to Vegas.
Fun to watch. Keep 'Em coming. Thanks
Another fine example of a lot of history research that is well presented. Keep up the good work. I am glad that I subscribed!
Thank you C.Rice. DT is intimidating since there is so much history. Dates and facts were a bit all over the place when I was researching. I HOPE I got it right.
Great video, I was there last August and had a blast. Coming back this mid August for 2 weeks.
I always look forward to your work. And you posted this just a few hours before our flight to Vegas! A great way for us to ramp up.
Have an awesome trip!
They had a good buffet back in the days. It looks so much better now. Thanks. Thinking of staying there again.
My wife and I very much enjoy your informative Vlog. We plan our vacations using what we see here. Thank you
That is so awesome! I hope you both have a great time when you visit.
Great video , I've never been in the nugget. We didn't have time to get in there when we visited. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for much for watching!
As always, you present an objective, professional and unbiased review with lots of interesting facts. Thank you! subbed.
Walking with Cocktails is always good. Gotta Love Vegas!!

Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Great vlog. Stayed there in Feb, awesome hotel. Stayed in the Carson Tower, Rooms were spacious and clean .
I'm staying there in August. I've only explored the casino during previous visits. Thanks for the informative vid!
Great channel! Makes me want to go back to vegas.
I came down this street for the first time in 1991 on a limo ride. It was epic. No cars here nowadays. Lucky I got to see it this way
I enjoyed this video very much, Dani. I've never really looked around the GN during my Vegas vacations, but I will definitely check it out next time, as I as staying downtown for part of the trip. Looking forward to whatever you do next.
Thank you Craig!
Hi! I'm new to your channel. You do such a nice job with your videos! The Golden Nugget certainly has changed since I was last there (1999).
"EXCELLENT VIDEO DANI"
Really Enjoyed This!
Thumbs Up Dani!
KEEP EM' COMMIN' !! 👌👍
Thank you for the support How to Win in Casinos!!
Great video! Your videos are very informative, I stayed at the GN about 20 yrs. ago and I am impressed with all the restaurants and updates made. In recent years I have always stayed on the strip but this video has me thinking I might try the GN next time. Thanks Dani!
Thanks. Great video of the Golden Nugget. I was there last month. It is a great place to visit, stay at, eat, and gamble!
That is awesome Bill. Thanks for watching.
Another great vid~ Claim Jumper at the Nugget is my GO TO place when visiting downtown. I love to go down there & watch bands & then get a turkey club or ruben at Claim Jumper~ super great restaurant. I went to Vic & Anthony's once & it was fantanstic!
Vic and Anthonys looked like something out of Madmen. haha. The buffet was super retro looking as well. I've got to try them sometime.
Hello Dani, nice video.
Great vid, Dani. Your work is awesome!
Thanks for watching Erik.
So neat of a video Dani, and Gold Nugget is such a fine place usually. I like to win, and not lose and nobody wants to lose. It is a great casino to visit, stay, and have a sizzling time. Joseph Fallon
Dani, you got me in this video walking around! I feel so cool lol!
No way Glen! That is awesome.
Mandalay is on my list! I totally understand watching videos of places you love while you are away from it. :)
Great tour, I always wondered how it looked inside
Thank you Buffy!
Great video Dani ! As always I really enjoyed it !
Love your reviews, Dani! Great job! 😘
Thank you Lady Luck!
YESSS a new video!!!! Thanks Dani, you're the best =)
Thank you Elem3nt
Great job 👍 , Didn't realize there was so much to it I guess I've only seen the front from Fremont street ,, Pool area looks way cool love the shark tank great job as always take care
Right? haha. Much bigger in the inside. Thanks for watching!
Cool video Dani....interesting....informative.....great channel....
Thank you for watching Signalsyyz!
Great video. I love the Golden Nugget. Great place to gamble.
Thank you Genedraper16. I dig this hotel too. It has a great vibe.
Great tour of a great property. I love GN, nicest place downtown, equal to most resorts on the strip. I'm a low roller table game player, when we stay at the GN it's a 5 minute walk to low limit tables, on the strip it more like a 30 minute walk.
The Nugget is very nice. Cheers Dani! 🍺🎰🍔
Nicest and classiest casino downtown. Very nicely maintained.
I was just at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles (Jul 27, 2018) and the Hand of Faith nugget was on display there too. I wonder???
Tilman Fertitta owns the Nugget today. He is from Houston and Galveston.. He is a friend of mine. I spent 16 years in Houston and Galveston...yes Laundries Inc. Yes Vic is Tilman's dad and I think Anthony was another close relative. Great steak restaurant!
Great vid ! I stayed there back in October, very nice down town.
Great video. I stayed at golden nugget and I went on the slide the tank. I was so scared cause I'm in my 50's, but a 10 year old helped me with confidence. Just wanted to say I did it. Try it, its fun. Thx
love your videos! keep posting more!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the support Jack.
Thanks for the video. Lived there in 2010-12 and didn't know anything about the nugget. Will you be doing a video of the Cosmopolitan? I worked there when I lived there and it's an amazing hotel.
I remember in 1966, my 3rd grade teacher mentioning the "golden nugget" casino; something about winning a small jackpot.
That is awesome that you remember that. :)
I witnessed a 10.2 million dollar jackpot there about 12 years ago...loved it there...not too sure about now though...Golden Nugget is great but Fremont St. Is getting very busy!
i went there and i liked it very much ty for sharing this ill be moving to lasvegas next year
Thank you for watching Claire! Get ready for the heat. :)
I heard cfapps7865 mention your channel in his video last night. Glad he did, good channel.
Great video!
Golden Nuggett has resort fees of about 30 dollars per night with tax. They also charge additional fees for early check in or smoking rooms. This all started not too long ago. But it is a great downtown hotel and alot of fun! You showed it off well!
Oh dang, they charge more for smoking rooms? That's interesting. Thank you for watching Melanie.
$80 in video poker wasn't enough for a comp drink. We're out.
Nice video never been there but I need to get there one day I’m from Australia peace ✌️
You are so good at this.
Like your videos I use to live in Vegas and used to go to all the places you make videos
Isn't it crazy when you go back to a place you used to live? It looks so different, Even after just a few months.
Thanks, Dani !!!
Love the downtown area.
I love Dani and this video
Thank you Stanley! I appreciate you always having something nice to say.
Glad to see a downtown place getting recognition. I've only stayed on the strip, but the GN seems to be calling me. Punk Rock Bowling is on Memorial Day. Kind of crowded but lots of colorful characters (spiked hair, piercings, leather, boots, etc).
So true. It's a wild weekend.
trust me its best hotel there, if you stay downtown stay there
Good morning awesome again😎💙 great info
Morning Bruce! Thanks for watching.
Do you remember when they had a reality show called "The Casino" in 2004 filmed at the Golden Nugget? Great video as always!
Oooh! I read about that and I was so confused because I thought they were talking about the movie. I didn't know there was a reality show with that name. Haha
yeah, it was, lol....but then again, I feel that way about ALL "reality" shows
Good vid ill be there Oct.21 thur 25 cant wait
Great Video, I have been to the Golden Nugget numerous times but I did not know about all that was in your video. Do you ever Gamble in any of the Casinos ,or is that a no-no for residents of Las Vegas? It would be hard to live there, and not Gamble if you know what I mean. Which one you suggest linq or golden nugget we are getting alwost the same price
Great job! I liked the video, it was the only one I thought was thorough and didn’t have any irrelevant stuff to fill up time. Thank you for uploading!
interesting, might stay there on my next vegas trip, looks cool
I think this is my favorite hotel in DT.
thought I'd binge watch some Danni 702!
It looks great for 72! lol Thanks for sharing Dani
Thanks for watching Jay!
Hi Dani Did you eat at the chart house restaurant at the Golden Nugget? It’s my favorite. And they have a very hilarious waiter there you should meet him.
It's a lot nicer than I thought it would be.
Right? lol. I was surprised when I stayed there.
very good video girl. im new to vegas. not really feeling it.im from los angeles.. but its because i dont know many people. hopefully that changes. lol.

And Steve Wynn is the biggest maggot to ever crawl through Las Vegas.
Hi Dani, nice 👍
I have been there before its amazing
I stayed here 2 years ago it was fun
I have not stayed at the Golden Nugget but one trip to Vegas I did explore downtown and had some excellent margaritas there.
That is awesome. Downtown is a whole different experience than the strip.

Another great video. Any chance you could do on Aria?
Thanks Michael. If you check out my video "what at the City Center" I have a bit of Aria in that video.
What happened to the church street station rail car?
I was there in 2017 February. It's nice
I would consider them out on my next visit. You did say no resort fee? Thx
THANKS FOR THE INFO AND TOUR
Thank you for watching Linda! It was fun exploring the Golden Nugget.
I stayed at the Golden Nugget shortly after the renovation from 2007 or 5 it's a gorgeous Hotel I would recommend everybody stay there if they do go to Vegas
I really dig this hotel as well.
2:55 there is a golden nugget at Knotts Berry Farm that is bigger than that.
This was the first hotel I stayed at on my first trip to Vegas back in 91. I stay on the strip now-a-days. They had the water slide through the shark tank even back then.
The Nugget is our favorite place to stay in Vegas
Daym Dani 😍
Stay in their Rush Tower for the first two weeks of my trip every summer... Great video, but it makes me feel kinda homesick. Oh well, it's only 11 months until I'm back :)

I didn't know that. I love the rainforest Cafe.
Looks a cool hotel
My buddy gets tons of comps at the Venetian so I have stayed there about 10 times, but I prefer the Golden Nugget; The people are super friendly and the blackjack is cheap and fun.
I like the actual golden nugget on display in the lobby. It's the size of my hand.
