I always carry tire plug kit with a 12v air compressor along with having tire pressure monitor installed. Once I had a object that punctured the front tire and was losing 2 psi every minute. Tire pressure monitor gave me early warning and and I was able to pull over to a safe area to plug the tire.
I don't have the carpenter's address, but reminds me of a joke. Carpenter sees another carpenter putting screws into a wood frame of a house on a building site. He looks at a screw, throws it away. Looks at another screw, screws it in. Looks at another screw, screws it in. Looks at another screw, throws it away. The first carpenter says hey, why are you throwing half of the screws away? Other carpenter says half of these lousy cheap screws have the head on the wrong damn end! First carpenter says you idiot, those are the screws for the other side of the house!
