Thank you Timeka! Personally, I found this video very valuable and would love to see more like it. I'm shooting for this role right now and you made it feel more accessible.
Oh boy! lol that’s all I needed to hear. I’ll try to do a weekly vlog as long as yall keep liking them. I’ll record tomorrow but do me a favor & subscribe! ☺️
I'm happy and nervous about that! lol I'm not good at vlogging but I'm sure it's because I don't do it enough🤦🏾♀️... Thanks for the reply because it's definitely motivated me to finish editing the one I already recorded! lol. Definitely going to vlog more.💜
Heyyy Timeka, I worked in HR for 10 years and then another line of business and will be interviewing for a new HRBP role at a new company next week. This video was extremely helpful in preparing me for the interview as well as insight of what this role involves. This was my first time watching your video and I have LIKED & Subscribed and please keep this type of content coming. Peace!✌🏾
I have an employment law video, a short on temp vs contractors & tons on SHRM prep. Let me know if you need the links. I doubt I’ll touch on all of those topics in vlogs.
I was researching HR Certifications that I can opt for, as I was appointed HR & Ops Officer (still managing my previous role) at my current company, and the whole is a new experience. I will be glad if I can get assistance from you. I have already hit the like and subscribe buttons on your videos. I really enjoy watching them.
@@HeyyyHR it is such an inspiration! I am 33 3 working as a HR Assistant I know in my soul HR is what I want to do for the rest of my working years. I just didn’t know how to work my way up. My job offered aphr certification. I took that, It was worth it to me I know others think differently. I start in August 2024 for my BACHELORS in HR/ Organizational Leadership.
I really enjoyed this video. I’ve been watching you for quite sometime when I decided to switch my career path. I start my first HR role tomorrow as a Recruiting Coordinator and your videos have been helpful for me to better understand HR and the different roles! My goal used to be to become a Director but idk it seems that lately BPs make more money lol. But thank you for your insight, advice and content. I definitely appreciate it!
I’m sooo happy to hear that! I started to vlog today but I was like I better wait & see if they like this one lol! CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW ROLE! 🎉🎉 Director & BPs make about the same salary honestly. You’re so welcome! Should I do another day in the life video?
Thanks for the videos. Can you do a video specifically on the process and outcomes for performance calibrations sheets? I have been in HR for over 15 years as a sole HR Gen, Manager and Director..... It's refreshing to see an HR professional working with a team! BTW, I love your videos and I have subscribed! Please keep them coming!
“Calibration sheets” are not common. Out India team created that word & my teams hates it bc the term confuses them. Please do not use that word. You’ll want to pull your hair out! 😩😂🤦🏾♀️ I have a few videos on Dept of One. I did day in the life videos while I was an HR Director. Want the links to them? Thank you so much!!! Will do! 💜💜
@@HeyyyHR Thanks for the clarity. I thought I might have to update my skill set with calibrations sheets, lol. I'll check out the videos you mentioned. Thanks again!
Hi Timeka! I'm interested in being a Global HRBP as well. I am considered early career talent and trying to figure out what experience I would need. Would you suggest a payroll coordinator as a good entry level position for a future GHRBP?
Hey! No, bc HRBP’s doesn’t touch payroll. You will need to be familiar with it when you need to reach out to them but we never get into the weeds of payroll. I would suggest an HR generalist role to start.
Thanks for making this video. I’ve watched your videos for several months now and seeing the day of an HRBP is helpful. Also, your videos on resume and LinkedIn tips are top notch. I’ve share some with my husband and he’s in Ux/Product design. Even he found tips from you that apply to his field. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
@@chi_okoko I’m so happy to hear that! Vlogging while working is A LOT bc sooo much goes on during the day that takes my mind in different places but I’m going to try one more to see how that goes. If yall keep watching & commenting then I’ll keep figuring it out. I’m so happy he find it helpful! I used to recruit for product folks but now I’m no longer recruiting & that’s not one of my business units but I keep videos focused on HR but working in tech makes me really familiar with it all! ☺️
O and I meant to ask one more question, what hr function role has the most remote jobs available? People love remote jobs right now, could be a good video.
Honestly, its not the function, moreso the industry and company size. Larger (1,000 employees or more), national and/or global companies have more remote positions.
Thanks...honestly, I never really liked recruiting or talent until much later in my career and still never grew a big passion for it and HRBP was a career goal for me, so it was a no-brainer to change. I VP knew this so the plan was always that talent would be temporary for me and that HRBP would be the goal.
Love the day in the life! Super insightful!
Glad you enjoyed it!💜💜

Great and informative content I’d like to see more about complacency regarding employment law, temporary vs. contracted workers, and SHRM test prep.
