This music gives me nostalgia of past dreams that I forgot or perhaps they never happenned
This is two chords looped for 11 minutes. And I freaking adore it.
But why only eleven minutes?...

It's because the discordant note is constantly being resolved over and over and your brain likes that.
Also it's not just 2 chords, there's overtones in the background that are warping and changing adding color and depth.

My 6 month old daughter has trouble going to sleep, and let me tell you- this song is my secret weapon! I kid you not, it is 6am right now (she woke up crying), I began playing the song and she was back asleep in 30 seconds. I've used this song countless times before to calm her and help her doze off. The song is beautifully peaceful and rhythmic!

Try Rhubarb by Aphex Twin (and one of the slowed down mixes, might be good too). A great piece of music in its own right.
Make sure you show her the song again someday when she's older. It will probably be incredible for her to listen to it since her brain was developing so much when she heard it the first few times. I know songs I heard as a kid that my mom shared with me when I was older really resonate with me now, even though they're pretty simple/ average songs.

Um, I’m really sorry if my comment is inappropriate, but to the authors point, I was having a threesome with 2 pretty young ladies listening to this album when this song came on, and it knocked us all out to sleep! I love this album!

@@kips1974 They're the same two chords and a similar but nowhere near identical synth sound, not really enough to call it a rip off since Song for Shelter has much more to it than just these chords.
Falling a sleep with this song for over 6 months. Really helped me to fix my main problem with sleeping. I see im not the only one here in the comments.

He ended up passing away a year or two after graduation in 1995 in a car crash, and they named the soccer field after him because I think he was an All-American hs soccer player during our time at Kent Denver. Miss that kid). ❤

There is a very specific vibe where this song hits different, maybe it’s just me taking the title literally.
There’s a certain peace I feel when I’m watching the sun rise from the driver’s seat of my 18 wheeler, and I’m approaching the end of a graveyard shift that I started an hour before sunset the day before.

For some weird reason I can almost hear the melody of Midnight City in this, playing very faintly in the background. Or maybe I'm just crazy.
