Tough day on the Willamette

I hit the Willamette with expectations of catching 50 bass with some nice ones mixed in but I could only manage to scrape out 13 small bass. I fished hard all day long for those fish with some really long lulls between sporadic bits of action. I am not sure if I could not find them or if they just weren't biting. The only thing I did not do was beat the bank (maybe they were tight to shore because of all the coho running up the river).
Oh well, not every day is going to be one to be proud of. I will just have to fish harder next trip!

I have picked a a few small bass trolling coho up there. So many nice coho around but a tough year getting them to bite compared to the last two years. I bet you will get a coho bass fishing and that would be a wild ride on light gear! Also very tasty.

I saw a lot of coho splashing around and had them follow my lures in several times but did not have any actually chomp. Maybe some day!

@@pdxfisher1 they are really hard to get this year! I got a really nice coho today trolling a brads wiggle wart as fast as possible in about 16’ of water. Its seems to be the only way I can get them to bite.
