Car turned out great! The quick change is the stuff of hot rodder dreams (sooo expensive)! Opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has 'em, but steelies all around and pie crusts would look great on the ride. Loved the walk thru of the Chavers rear window. Really adds to the look of the car! Can't wait to see what you get into next! Go LGKustoms, keep moving forward!
...hi Lee...that is one badass roadster.....over the top chrome and black and red where it needs to be....between Kirby's vision and your know how, that thing is a jewel....
Great video Lee, attention to detail is awesome. it’s so cool that your are helping out the young Fellow from Willson Builds with his projects. The young Man has a great channel.🫵🏼💯🆒
I feel your pain on doing the job twice. I can’t speak to Winters but it amazes how often I buy parts that arrive with no, or poorly written, instructions. A few hours of time at the word processor could save so much aggravation and money for the end user. Factor in the hourly cost to a professional shop and I suspect a redo can make the difference between a modest profit and a big loss. My condolences.
That’s looking great. I like the contrast of the shiny against the black. I’ve just got in from going to see big sandy and the fly right boys. In fact I’ve been greedy and went down to Brighton. to see them 05 07 24. And today 06 07 24 I went to Birmingham to see them again.really had a good time. And to top the weekend off. I’m going to see a friend tomorrow and there’s a car show on I think mostly classics. The post man came as well. Thanks so much the boys love there shirts. Take care and all the very best Tim.
38:32 Straight cut gears are always noisy, that's one of the reason rear end gears are helical cut so there is very little noise. Straight cut is a stronger gear vs helical.
Hi Lee love the build and love your channel. Looking at you re assembling the rear brakes I believe you may have the shoes on back to front. The shoe with the shortest lining should be at the front (10 + years working in a brake shop). I also love the build on your 35 sedan. Keep up the great videos.
Straight cut gears, although stronger, are not used in gearboxes or differentials in modern cars because they are noisy . . . but crikey the car looks good, better if it had fenders
i don't think a bearing manufacturer would have such a big O ring off-set if it did not matter which way round it sits . Bad idea to chrome springs. The heating cycle used in chrome plating could soften the spring, so it would not be at the rate you think.
I’m assuming the bearings are also used in a different application where the o ring makes sense. But in this case, with the housing having a seal already, the o ring is kind of redundant. As far as the chrome springs, I’m not an expert of spring engineering, but I would think the company that makes and sells the springs (QA1) has taken the chrome process in to consideration, and if there was a problem they wouldn’t be selling them.
Naturally, they recommend Winters brand gear oil haha. They want a gear oil with Moly in it. Whatever moly is haha. We just got the winters oil, surprisingly it doesn’t have the usual gear oil stink, and it’s really gooey, like pancake syrup.
32 roadster is very nicely done, I just love the back window!!

I totally agree on the wheel choice. Or some real chrome reversed rims with like a 2” white wall for that early 60’s look.
As always Lee, appreciate your explanations on the different products you use
Machining those centre caps was definitely the way to go
Cheers
Frank

Yea it turned out pretty good
I thought the bearing retainer was on wrong ,anyway you got it right and the car is looking amazing.
The attention to detail... Masterful work, Lee👍💯
Thank you! Cheers!
Is a Hotrod ever finished. Your workmanship makes for a great looking car. Thanks for all your detailed education.
your self confidence is refreshing
Nice work Lee. It’s kind of sad that company provided little to no help. Car looks awesome.😊
Tell me about it

Zach is killing it !
Very slick 32 good job👍
Good job Lee, That car will win a few trophies at the car shows!

Unfortunately this kind of stuff happens a lot in this industry
Beautiful little car, Well done Lee.
Thanks
Very nice finish!
Lots of improvements
Looks sharp
Beautiful car. You did an outstanding job. Kirby should be very happy.
He's stoked!

Cool! They finally made it!
Such a nice rod!

Always kicking ass dude, loved this one. Just hate the tires hahaha
Yea the wheels and tires would not be my choice either.
Sweet car. Nice work!
Thanks!
Beautiful car and wonderful workmanship! I'd be afraid to drive it though.
At the end of the day, it’s still just a car. Chips can be fixed. Scratches can be touched up.
you done a great job working the rear end and finishing the roadster
Thank you
Looks good 😎 nice job Lee 👍
Thanks

I just put them back the way the manufacturer did, as I never removed the e-brake leaver from the shoe when I took them apart for chroming.
@@LGKustoms maybe they were assembled the wrong way originally, just an observation.
Looking good!
Dude!!! Nice job!!! Sucks to do the job twice!!! ✌️
Winters grrrr how frustrating. Watching Jim press them on looked very tight on the axle.
They definitely made his bumhole pucker haha
nice work, like always
Take us along for a test ride with you and Kirby please!
Looks really good!! To bad about those spacers though.
Beautiful - really like the stance! I noticed the front valence was missing ? You took an 8 and took it way past a 10 !
The front valence is still getting painted.
Looks great
In the VW world those windows are called safari.
Hmmmmmmmm, looks better lower, works better lower. Clearance the pan!
Awesome 👍
Paint the ground on edge with aluminum paint.

I like fenders on coupes and sedans, but never a roadster haha
@LGKustoms I'm thinking of the paint, Australian showgrounds and potholed roads need mudguards

Lee what does winters recommend for gear lube and weight?
Naturally, they recommend Winters brand gear oil haha. They want a gear oil with Moly in it. Whatever moly is haha. We just got the winters oil, surprisingly it doesn’t have the usual gear oil stink, and it’s really gooey, like pancake syrup.
Documentation is another $1000 for the Winters rear end...
Is that a glass car ?
Yes it is
@@LGKustoms
Nice car. I like what you did
How's the 47?
The 47 is on standby at the moment. Have a few videos planned for the near future on it
I was gonna say the rearend is too high! Hmmmmmmmmm
You dontvsee good looking rods like this on iron trap garage their always patina fugly he has a couple nice looking ones though
