I've made this comment before, I'll make it again. "I don't know why you don't have triple the number of subs that you do". Anybody with basic mechanical ability, automotive experience even at the hobbyist level, an automotive toolbox and a mig welder should be able to build a 4-link similar to what you have done. Might not be as pretty, but you certainly have laid out exactly how to do it. Thanks for taking the time to educate us.
I really enjoyed seeing you work on this piece of hot rod history. I'm of the understanding that any legit Barris custom is very valuable. I thought it would be worth more restored to original Barris specs. I really like the idea though of the new owner to modernize it as he will drive it a lot. Its his car and he can do anything he wants to it. I hope we can get a look at the finished Purple People Eater when done. Great episode Lee!
After having a 1952 Buick Roadmaster convertible I'm not a fan of rag tops but this one has potential. I always look forward to seeing your clips and the road trips.
Cool car just got cooler! I love the way you make even the most mundane - ordinary part extraordinarily beautiful. It's a privilege to watch you work. I see you pass'd the shop inspector's approval again. Ha Ha.
Very cool 🤙 I just found a 50's custom 53 chev magazine car. I'm deciding how to bring it out. It was bought at a show and parked hasn't been seen in 40 years
..hi Lee...nice touch burning the shop name into the set up...looks great and will be an advertisement for your work until.....well, the next guy changes it....
The monsters are out! The monsters are out!!. Made me chuckle when your under the car and the little man walked past. Lee I’ve never heard of the purple people eater custom so thanks for sharing. Do you no fast Elvis on the hamb? He restored the original purple people eater front engine dragster. From Canada. I think he did about sixteen pages on the H.A.M.B. And Your work is second to none as usual. Looking forwards to more drag racing. Can you strip down some weight. Window frame headlights or is it just not worth the effort. Cheers. Best wishes to you Shannon and lux.
Great video and workmanship. At my age (75), I'm lost with the cad stuff .. Please, can you tell me where from where you can purchase that compact, digital angle gauge? (I am watching from Perth Western Australia). I also have a question about the potential of chassis / sub frame cracking caused by air bags, especially in full load bearing situations. There have been instances of the chassis cracking and breaking in hale, when used to load compensate on for example, a Hilux 4x4 utility.
I bought my angle finder off Amazon. As for the chassis cracking, I’ve never heard of or seen it happen. Maybe it someone went off roading. But this car has hardly any weight on the back axle, and will just be cruising on paved roads.
@@LGKustoms Yes it is not so uncommon for this to occur in off road and bush travel, here in Australia, where such recreational prepared vehicles suffer this. Badly corrugated dirt roads also contribute. Thanks for the update

This car was in the Okanagan in the late 60’s. It was totally restored by a friend of mine. If you need info, send me a message.
This car was restored once?

Original Frame Lee .
Thanks for clarifying Ross
I'm inspired by the fact you don't have a lift.
Well I do have a lift. It’s in pieces outside at the moment haha
Someday I’ll get it set up.
A watts link is far better than a panhard bar.
