      It definitely looks very 16-bit ish.

    1998... the first time I installed a C64 emulator on my PC. Damn, time indeed does fly...

      Didn't touch my C64 until I started this channel.

    The green leaping frog at 2:35 looks to me as a homage to Pitfall II :-) Impossamole is definitely a game I will try, sooner or later!

    Fun fact: this was made by the same people who made Rick Dangerous, which might explain its graphic style and some of the gameplay mechanics. Not ever played it myself but it looks interesting so I might give it a go at some point.

      I can totally see the resemblance.

    Interesting graphics! Cool game - hadn't seen this back in the day. Monty Mole vs Impossible mission?

    • @Polaventris
      @Polaventris  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is quite a late game for C64, probably why we didn't pay much attention to it back then when 16 bit computers were all the rage.

    Monty Mole kicking his way out of the 80s and into the 90s! I had this game, thought it was a lot of fun and pretty challenging in places, though I would have liked more than just one music track (it is a nice track though), and the game could have done with a few more power ups

    • @Polaventris
      @Polaventris  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sadly I only had Monty Mole back then, not Monty on the run or this one. Definitely would have liked this one if I had it.

      I used to read computer magazines back then and I remember this getting mixed reviews, I think it was pretty good

    Nice music!

      @Polaventris  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parts of the music sound bit off key to me and you can't really beat the Hubbards music on earlier monty mole games.

  • @WexMajor82
    @WexMajor82 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That is the music from Monty on the run.
    A game you could very well look into. ;)

    • @WexMajor82
      @WexMajor82 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apparently this is the 6th game in a series, Monty on the run is the 3rd, Wanted: Monty Mole is the 1st

    • @Polaventris
      @Polaventris  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The music does sound very familiar, but I still think this one sounds a bit more wonky to me. Perhaps it is a remix of the original or something.

    Hey this looks pretty darn good! I’ve always heard about this game but I’ve never seen it. It looks like a much less annoying Rick Dangerous.

      Likewise, definitely worth checking out. Thanks for the livestream, was great fun, although some of the conversation might have gone too high in pitch for me to hear. Looking forward to get you into War Thunder properly.

    Do you think the music was meant as a homage to Monty on the run or just a complete rip off?
    Same with the logo, obviously Indiana Jones rip off.

    • @Polaventris
      @Polaventris  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably just a homage and that's why it sounds bit odd and off key to me.

    • @GlenLehane
      @GlenLehane 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's an official Monty Mole game, the song is a remix of the original track. You're probably right about the logo, back then games ripped everything off, but a lot of the time it was done ironically
