  • Unboxing SAT Tubeless Chinese Carbon Wheelset 2017!
    Ordered here: bit.ly/Tubeless...
Here is a video of my latest cycling purchase, a 2017 Special Assembly Technology set of tubeless carbon wheels from Aliexpress.
I ordered a set of unbranded SAT/tubeless wheels in a 50mm deep, 25mm wide profile with rock-solid Novatec 291 hubs, UD matte finish.
I was able to take them for a quick ride after unboxing and mounting tires, switching brake pads and they perform great with no issues just yet. I plan to use these as my everyday wheels and am excited to see how they hold up.
These are my second set of chinese carbon wheels and I didn't have any problems with my previous set over approximately 2000km ridden in all sorts of conditions. I sold that set and have been wanting a new set ever since!
Please leave a comment below if you have any questions regarding the wheels or the process of ordering a set for yourself and I will do my best at answering them. Thanks for watching!

Hi Mike, have you ridden brand name wheels? I was consider the Mavic Kysrium Pro Carbon wheelset. Consider they're 2-3 times to price of chinese made carbon wheels I guess I wanted to see what your perspectives might be? I don't mind paying more but if can stay budget i most certainly will. Thanks!

Hey! Actually I haven't, I've only ridden stock wheelsets (either 2013 Allez comp or 14 Felt AR), and two sets of carbon wheels including these ones I unboxed. I am not against buying name brand (I've almost bought some in the past few years, mostly local used sets) but I always wonder if the cost difference like you mention is worth it! FWIW I'm pretty much done riding outside this year and these wheels held up great. The front could use a small truing that I'll eventually get taken care of. Brake track held up fine, no issues otherwise. Sorry I can't answer your original question!

Hi Mike. What type of tubeless valves did you order?

Hi Dary, I'm not running them as tubeless just with clinchers and tubes. I ordered some valve extenders with the wheelset.
Should note they've been my daily wheels for a year, no issues except the front is starting to have a slight wobble. A quick tune up will make them like new! Thanks

How do they ride? I ordered mine a couple of days ago and cant wait. Although its 17 degrees outside so I wont be able to ride them for a couple of months...

Reb Bliefernich They're good, but the only other carbon wheels I have to compare are a set I ordered last year and sold. Nice, smooth ride, not sure how much aero. I'd say the different feel of a carbon wheel is the biggest benefit. I haven't had a chance to ride them a bunch (maybe a couple hundred kms) and now am on the trainer for the foreseeable future. Let me know how yours work out!
