One thing I like about Jake is that he's refreshingly unbiased. He doesn't just say grrrr game bad not scary. He breaks down just enough to indicate if you liked the first one you will more than likely enjoy this one, but specifically says don't run out and buy immediately it if you're worried about aspects a, b, and c being changed a bit. I'm sick of all the professional critics coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden to throw in their two cents. Funny, I read a comment in here where someone is like It's a good game but the main character moves too slow while sneaking, I wish there was an upgrade for that. Seriously, did you even play the damn game?
i’m 5 hours in and i honestly really enjoy the open world part of the game because it rewards you for exploring and the side quests are actually worth doing unlike other open world games
Evil Within 2’s Sebastian wasn’t my Sebastian. He acted like a completely different person from the first game and he was always talking to himself throughout the game…it was just… so weird and annoying.
The game vastly improves on the first. Feels totally different. Despite this, the more I play the more I feel underwhelmed. Sebastian is way too slow too.
TheGebs24 It's a great game otherwise. I'm really liking the more open world. Just the sneaking speed is so annoying. If the enemy is walking away you aren't even sneaking fast enough to catch them. You have to wait till they stop. It only needs a slight speed increase.
This game is much better than the first one and I haven't even beat it yet. Don't get me wrong, the first one was fantastic, but the open-world element makes it just so much more enjoyable. Reminds me of Alan Wake, Silent hill 2, and a Deadrising 3 type deal. Good stuff Tango!
the first one to me was lovely but for most it was too complicated, the second one however, you know a lot about whats going on and well...the save the daughter thing was a dlc for the first game.
The thing about open world, it create repetetive gameplay with barren enemies. There's only around 4-5 of the default mob models and they just add fire to them then ice as you progress the game, really lame
+Thesourcerer99 You couldn't be more wrong though. I found the generic enemies to be placed in the open areas very well, plopped down in such a way that it forced you to really think about your surroundings and use them to your advantage. I ended up exploring more of Union then I planned to just by trying to get around the enemies. Not to mention the basic "Lost" enemies aren't the only types at all. Yes you have the normal, fire, and ice varients like you said. But you also have the acid spitter creature. The weird dog creatures. the knife weilding spazy woman, The big exploding guys. The cultists with the flame throwers. The ghost woman that looks a lot like laura. Plus the various bosses, some which become basic enemies for you to deal with. I feel like you're just over exaggerating your experience to make the game look worse then it really is. Not to mention it, now that I'm looking back into everything, the fire variants of the basic enemy are a lot different then you're giving them credit for, being both stronger, and more aggressive with charging attacks and what not.
I actually really enjoyed the whole semi-open world environment. It made hunting for supplies more adventurous and suspenseful, never knowing what was behind the corner or at the end of that train car with the bullets inside of it. This game blended the action and horror I felt with a very good ratio that kept me wanting more.
I had this game for over years without having opened it and finally gave it a try during this quarantine and it was a very fun game. The open world was cool and I was addicted to going around to every inch of the map clearing it up from the infected people. Definitely recommend if you find it on sale.
why do the graphics look better in the first game than the second game?, also the dialogue doesnt match up with how the characters lips move but the first game developers knew what they were doing, so did the game developers fire some really good employees after the first game?, like overall it feels the visuals look way better in the first game than this one
Thought this game was terrible. Just from playing new game plus I can see that they went in with the focus of padding the game. Slow movement, clunky combat, back tracking, a heavy focus on searching every nook and cranny. Not to mention a plot that provides no motivation to the player. Why should I care about Sebastian or his daughter and wife? Sebastian moans non-stop, Myra is suffering from stupidity and/or deafness and Lily is once again a stupid child used as a plot device. Stefano was the only interesting character in the whole game and they still managed to ruin him with a terrible boss fight. It's like RE when they reigned it in on those terrible Revelations 1/2 games.
I bet youre that person that whines about everything that comes out arent you? No matter what it is.. This guy will not approve of it. Because he knows everything. And he's going to type you a good one telling you about it.
And the second game is miles better in terms of gameplay and combat. Not even close! This game plays infinitely better than that choppy ass boring ass first game
@@ArthurMorgan-tr6tq I love RDR2 but I can't agree with you Arthur. Actually I think the first game had better and more challenging gameplay than 2. The second game was way too stealth heavy and it had totally unnecessary "open world" section and it was simply uninteresting as a survival action game…
This game is not generic its not boring and its not repetitive. This game is a blast all the way through and all the mechanics are improved. Anyone who says other wise is just jaded by the influx of new games and is just flexing that muscle critics usually do over exaggerating small set backs. If your a fan of horror youll love this game ... Nuff said!
I played the first one so im a little obsessed but no. This game was nothing. I played on nightmare it was still very easy, the story was nonexistent and all the good things in it(wich is kinda a lot tho)gets meaningless cause of easiness and shit plot imo
I personally like the open world thing. Something different and out of the box. I will always give devs kudos for trying something new in the horror genre, especially if it doesn't take away from the atmosphere and tone. No freaking loot boxes or microtransactions of any kind! 👍 Also, I would smash Kidman. 😂
Didn't even know it was coming out now. Somehow their marketing wasn't so good on the release I feel but hey that's probably just subjective. Anyway I never played the first but always wanted to try it out and maybe now I will pick up the double package :D
New chanter They let you choose the difficulty and describe the hardest difficulty as "if you liked the challenge of the first game". So yeah the game doesn't have to be as hard if you don't want it to be.
I just felt the real horror of the first game was lost as well as the unique design. I also felt alot of things were mustered up in the beginning then forgotten about, remember the priest in the church at the start? Remember when sebastian asks why they are piling bodies? Remember the code you find and have to use to unlock the door then it's never used again? Remember the platform you can drop just before the first person part so that you can get back, which is never used again? Remember the marrow falling apart but never explained why. The game just dosent make sense but the gameplay and levelling up is quite satisfying. I would like them to start something new from now on though.
The priest was transformed into one of the creatures because the ghost lady got him. If you ever get caught by the ghost lady she sucks sebastians soul out and turns him into the lost. It's just the game makes it nearly impossible to get caught by her. I hated how easy part 2 was
I think the first one had more “scares” for me. It had more of an impact and it had so many unique bosses. But 2 with the open world chapters and just having more story, that’s actually more in-depth was nice. To me it was like a trade off. I love the both equally but for different reasons.
I love it so far. A little slow start but feels a little easier than the first game. I feel the progression system, though almost identical to the first game, allows you to level up faster and feels like you're doing a lot more with it.
If you removed the animus sci-fi stuff and instead, this all took place within a town filled with the main characters personal experiences - you’d have a Silent Hill game.
The game is 4/10 for me cause i played the first one. Almost in every aspect it was better. Only the gameplay got better but the difficultys gone so its not very good imo
I don't think a lot of your points are fair criticisms. What's so wrong that the game has side quests? , that mind you some of them are greatly told and fun to go through. The open world, while not perfect was a nice change of pace from the original game. People this days complain when a sequel does not do enough to set itself apart or when it does try to change things up. You can't please everyone but playing this game and the last I feel it's a fair evolution from the original game which likely had a lot of things change because of technical limitations . Like the enviroments you see in the first few levels of TEW were open and had plenty of stealth opportunities.. that suddenly goes through the roof and you get the linear rollercoaster remaining 8 hours. I think it's fair to say the original game had its "sand boxy" elements since day 1.
I was worried when I bought this game if I made a mistake. The first one was scary but the story was a little bland. Honestly though it's the open world aspect that made me glad I bought it. I had 3 hours of just adventuring around during chapter 3.
I agree, I almost thought that the first one was TOO linear. I don't get how people think this is a game breaker. Plus the atmosphere is great for both games.
I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I felt that the only good open world part was chapter 3. The other 2 were like super small compared to the residential district. It would have been such better to combine both open worlds together. Have the game have linear set pieces for like the first quarter, then you get to the open area where a majority of the game takes place, leaving the last few as linear areas again.
I have been totally blown away by this game. It improves many mechanics and features from the first one while still keeping the same atmosphere. Buy This game, you wont regret it!
I'm probably an idiot and also haven't played the first one but why the hell is the main character always on left of the screen, not on the center. And even if third person, it feels different than other similar games. Coz he's always on the left.
Loved the first game, really disappointed by this one. The open-world sections were really unnecessary and the story was full of cliche. As a fan of the first one I wanted them to give Sebastian character development in this game, but sadly TEW2’s Sebastian felt more flat than 1.
This game actually made Sebastian a memorable character in my eyes. Maybe that's just me relating to his grief and self blaming personality Was there character in Sebastian in the first game I missed?
@@anthonyf616 Nah they made Sebastian the most generic protagonist in TEW2. I think nobody will remember his character 10 years later. The first game’s characterization of Sebastian wasn’t perfect but he had a lot of potential. Then TEW2 came out and dumbed down his character to the most boring, tired and overused sad dad trope. And he is very poorly written as a father in the second game, he didn’t feel like a real human imo, all of his behaviors and lines were so weird and overdone that was really annoying. I’d give TEW1’s Sebastian 6.5/10 and TEW2’s Sebastian 2/10, cuz in the first game his characterization wasn’t overdone or annoying at least.
Likewise here bro...! I just can't feel it like I did with the first one. I started to play it a while back but had to put it down since the monsters were really bugging me a lot... Now I'm somewhat getting used to the enemies but it's not the same! I miss Joseph! And they should have had a co-op option were you could play Sebastian and Joseph together with a buddy! I miss the masks as well... And not to forget Ruvic!!!
1. Why is open world a problem for everybody? If you dont want to explore and do side-quests, you can (Shocking revelation!) just go and do the main story. There is absolutely nothing forcing you to wait before doing main line. Of course, in this case you will miss most of the weapons, recourses and one really scary side line, but this is your choice to make. I had a blast, exploring those areas, and I am even replaying EW2 because of that. 2. "Zombies are not scary". And what, that is the reason to not give you enemies to fight? You wanted Box-head and Laura as typical enemies? Or you wanted for all those cities to be competely empty? This is not pure horror, its survival horror, you have to fight some normal enemies. 3. I have only 2 real problems with this game. Bosses from first game had better design, and Ruvik was a better villain, than S***** and T******. But thats only comparing to the first game. Comparing to other horrors/survivals, both bosses and villains in EW2 are fucking awesome. And overall, I enjoyed this game more, than first one (although, first one was a masterpiece on its own).
The first evil within yes i'd steer clear of any new RE title that continues boring ass ethans story as a whole...infact i'd recommend evil within 2 over RE 8 cause it has more replay value...
@@kitten7199 In my book theres miles more content in TEW 2 and better written story RE8 had nothing memorable and alot of people have said you could've honestly not slapped resident evil on the title instead cause sorry but not sorry but when did resident evil become van helsing? when did it suddenly turn into a game about fighting "vampires" and werewolves and why did they give the most generic poorly written cookie cutter protagonist oh its cause capcom has gotten lazy.
Is every gameranx review going to avoid saying if a game is good or bad?? Besides the fact that they don't give any sort of rating they avoid saying if the game is good or bad. They just say "not sure if how i feel about it yet, theres some good stuff and some bad stuff too". If you havent made your mind up about a game yet then don't make a fucking video on it. Oh and grow some balls and give games a rating.
The voice actor for Sebastian being different in 1 than 2 really hit me hard after I eventually became used to the new actors voice I did enjoy the game a little more. Open world really allows for lots of ways to tackle one objective and I really enjoy that the freedom evil within now has. Don’t get me wrong I throughly enjoyed the linearity of the first game but this one does have a lot of improvements over the first. Oh and those hidden collectibles you can find that reference other games made by Bethesda that is also really cool currently have only found corvohs mask the rocket launcher but then again I’m only on chapter 6. Great game I love it hopefully if at all the DLC will be just as good
I like that this game has no dlc or microtransactions, that is rare in today's video games where buying the base game is not enough developers are out to take all your money.
Bought it on an impulse expecting it to be terrible. (Never got through a few hours on the first one, got bored during generic zombie farm town and didnt have much motivation to keep going once I finished that part.) The open world and exploration elements are nothing short of phenomenal. Following the radio signals and just exploring on your own without them unearths interesting encounters and extremely helpful weapons and supplies. Can't wait to finish this game, its been a ride so far!
yep the sidequest didnt feel like it... within the first 10/20 minutes in the town they made it clear is not that open world BS like MGSV, Devs did a great job on that aspect
I've been playing the demo on my PS4 and despite the fact that I really like the atmosphere and monster design, I just can't stand the controls. The character not only moves super slow, but even though I have the sensibility up to 90 the camera also pans super slowly. That coupled with the fact that aiming is really wonky for some reason. I think it has to do with really high deadzone and acceleration settings which can't be modified, at least on console. In practice this means that if I try to move the reticule with precision I get no or almost no movement at all, but if I pan fast it immediately moves to the other side of the screen. Maybe I'm playing it like RE4 when I should play it more like a stealth game, but I'm on the fence on this one.
Pokemon Brian Yep, the original is a better game. Excellent pacing, you’re constantly being pushed through new environments (in The evil within 2, you’re stuck in a generic open world for the first 7 to 8 hours of the game) The first game constantly moved forward. The first game had better survival mechanics (hiding in lockers and under beds and tables, burning bodies mechanic, deadly traps) even graphically the first game looks better in a lot of areas. Even if the graphics aren’t technically as good as the second game, The art style and lighting is far superior. Ruviks story was also way more compelling, he was an excellent antagonist. This game has three mediocre antagonists. I had fun with the evil within 2, but the first is a masterpiece. I can’t believe people actually think the second one is better. I guess it’s probably because it’s easier.
Last Of Us is not survival horror unless you really got a weak heart. Days gone hasn’t came out yet and still it’s not survival horror. Those games are just more about survival and action. Games that have zombie like creatures aren’t always survival horror otherwise call of duty zombies would be considered survival horror then too.
Days gone? really? lool last of us is an emotional survival thriller with nothing scary about it...its an interactive movie with some feels here and there with 4 % gameplay....days gone is bad copy of the last of us.....i hope to god the next generation of gaming goes to pc gamers, xbox or nintento so i can stop seeing sony drones compare everything fucking good game on earth with sony exclusives , its getting really fucking annoying.....
I haven't finished the game yet but I'm addicted. More so than the first game but despite that EW2 feels like they weren't sure what they wanted to do with it unlike the first game where they were confident in the direction they wanted with the game. The enemies in the open world feel lazy aside from a few. It's basically let's throw some generic zombies around the place. They just wonder about. The parts where they appear to be dead or are doing something like feeding or hiding are great though.
As a person who likes a big map to explore I actually like the new open world. I played and completed the first game so many times cuz I just loved it, but with this one I feel like i can never actually be finished, there’s always something to get. I’m still really early into the game because I just can’t help exploring every nook and cranny for possible supplies that will help in the future.
raika r I explore every single thing and kill every single enemy in the area and only then I start doing the objectives. Love how you can chose how to approach certain areas/objectives/enemies
I wish they never experimented with this title, some other title perhaps not this, this is how i rate them, Evil Within 2 score 4.3, Evil Within 1 score 9.3, out of 10/10
I was a huge fan of the first game. I took my time with it and i am doing the same with this one. I took around 4 to 5 hours finishing Chapter 3 with all of the side missions and looting as much as i can with getting the mysterious objects, key lockers, files...etc and so far i am so glad i got the game.
On my second play through of it right now and I still love it!! Imo I think it's up there with RE4 and DS2 with horror factor and gameplay. I never got bored and it kept mixing it up enough to keep you hooked!
I enjoy Before You Buy over IGN and GameSpot. Jake Baldino does a great job explaining the highs and the lows of each title. Most of all, he doesn't shrink the entire experience down to a percentage score.
Just completed this game and loved every second of it. The creepiest moment for me was this ghost creature looking thing that would say youre name "sebastian!" And would have this creepy singing lullibye as you try to avoid it.
Started playing yesterday and I'm enjoying it a lot so far. The open world is fun to explore and you're now able to understand what is going on from the beginning. Way better game than the first one.
This game reminds me of silent hill games more than resident evil. Its like the love child of both, I don't have the game and I've been avoiding spoilers but from what I've seen, I'm getting silent hill vibes from the open world gameplay. I think the town of union just needs fog to simulate silent hill
DemonKingCozar I've played every game in both series and I can tell you that is exactly what it feels like. Throw in some story elements of the Matrix and u get EW2.
I'm playing it right now. Chapter 3 and completely hooked. If you're a fan of these series I highly recommend a purchase. Good challenge, cool atmosphere, and nods to all kinds of pop culture within it's genre.
Tip for u if u decide on a purchase. Early on stealth kill whenever possible. Explore everywhere and keep your eyes peeled for small statues of a goddess. Break them.
i think you're right about some things. but honestly im seriously enjoying this game, they took all the criticism from the first game and and made it better, and the "slowness" of Sebastian is actually something i like a lot...it sorta creates this 'take your time' approach and actually makes me appreciate the scenery and atmosphere of the game. and i find the graphics jaw dropping. especially compared to the first. but thats my opinion. love your channel.. its practically the only game review i watch nowadays. great review as always keep it up
Says it looks dull then proceeded to talk about how Cool it looked okay I’ve been watching this series for helping me decide but now I’m like hmmm Also he’s an old sober guy who’s pissed so yea dat why he runs clunky (also I bet he dosent work out)

That's why gamestop is close to shutting down. They suck and hire people that know absolutely nothing about video games
Why it's underrated though
Just completed it, thought it was brilliant and the open world made the game a lot more enjoyable
Eddie McArdle holy shit you completed it already??? Question 1. How much time do you have in your hands to play hours of video games??? And 2. How long is the game exactly???

Noz I ve always wanted Rockstar to make an open world ruined city zombie game with the driving taken out
It is like Silent Hill Downpour open world but good.
For the most part, it's just a gimick that sucks the essence out of the game as a whole
Why does the main character looks like a fusion of Nathan Drake and Joel?
EpiKerCovers BECAUSE IT IS!
EpiKerCovers Jothan?
EpiKerCovers lol
Yeah he looked less of a white dude in the other game. Plus his voice got super white guyd too lol
EpiKerCovers right!?
No microtransactions and the devs removed denuvo right before release. What is it? Christmas?
Camilo Montolio why do Devs think its a good idea to put micro transactions in a single player game?
Denuvo is worthless now. It's being cracked in terms of days or even hours.
I didn't get to play the first one but to know they didn't add Micro transactions already sounds better than most of recent best sellers🖒🤘👍🤙
SimonCleric Did the first TEW have microtransactions? I wouldn't know 'cause I never played it. Also, Google won't share.

Got it boss !
You can actually improve crouching speed for me this game is a blast
i’m 5 hours in and i honestly really enjoy the open world part of the game because it rewards you for exploring and the side quests are actually worth doing unlike other open world games
Open world + survival horror = bad!
Stigma not if its done right, and the evil within 2 does it right. it an awesome game.
Bought it. Played it. Loved it. Then watch their video. And no fucks given
*claps
Agreed.
Evil Within 2’s Sebastian wasn’t my Sebastian. He acted like a completely different person from the first game and he was always talking to himself throughout the game…it was just… so weird and annoying.
That was my gripe. I hated the new voice actor. It was a great game... I just had to try and imagine the original seb
5:10 Oh that's interesting.
5:16 Deja Vu! I just been in this place before!
The game vastly improves on the first. Feels totally different. Despite this, the more I play the more I feel underwhelmed. Sebastian is way too slow too.
Agreed. I wish there was a way to speed up the sneaking like an upgrade perk. Sneaking up behind an enemy takes way too long.
Paul Finch 100% right on Paul. Even down to the reloading too. I’ve been increasing my reload speed perk and it still feels too slow
Jog speed and crouch speed should be the same speed
Paul Finch im 100% sure there is an perk that you can skill
TheGebs24 It's a great game otherwise. I'm really liking the more open world. Just the sneaking speed is so annoying. If the enemy is walking away you aren't even sneaking fast enough to catch them. You have to wait till they stop. It only needs a slight speed increase.
The evil within is underrated really

Tom Dabek I really disliked the open world, the first was just on another level for me and It didn't feel like a horror game o me either
Tom Dabek reminds me of silent hill homecoming and downpour. All those foggy things.. And the earthquakes
I’m at chapter 9 and tbh I really, REALLY love this game so far!😁
Anders Kjetil Linde Im at chapter 11 ,it sucks I dont have a sniper
Fireplant Oh, there is a side mission pretty early in the game where you can get the sniper.
Anders Kjetil Linde nice. I'm in chapter 13 on nightmare. have you finished it. loving this game
The last part of the game is just amazing, it's art.
@@OcarinaOfTime
Stefano dislikes this hahaha.
Same comment twice from 5:12-5:25 Great video otherwise!

Glitch in the matrix
Pyridic yep! Heard it!
Jake is an AI which may, at times, malfunction
i thought i heard it even though i was 50/50 on it even though i was 50/50 on it
Every time Jake pronounces Castellanos "Casta-lennoes" a tiny part of me dies
why do the graphics look better in the first game than the second game?, also the dialogue doesnt match up with how the characters lips move but the first game developers knew what they were doing, so did the game developers fire some really good employees after the first game?, like overall it feels the visuals look way better in the first game than this one
When you add metal gear with horror you get evil within 2
Meeehh
Even though I was 50/50 on it, I still felt compelled to play it to the end
"And also because his daughter died, or something?"
Dude, did you not play the first game? Yikes . . .

Not worth the $7.49 on holiday sale. This is a hawt bowl of ass soup. Served Luke warmm B.

Seriously, the first game was miles better in terms of the pacing, level design, storytelling and voice acting.
@@windtacht1480 i agree with morgan. This game was addicting as hell!!
Or they have a difference of opinion
I personally like the open world thing. Something different and out of the box. I will always give devs kudos for trying something new in the horror genre, especially if it doesn't take away from the atmosphere and tone. No freaking loot boxes or microtransactions of any kind! 👍 Also, I would smash Kidman. 😂

Didn't even know it was coming out now. Somehow their marketing wasn't so good on the release I feel but hey that's probably just subjective. Anyway I never played the first but always wanted to try it out and maybe now I will pick up the double package :D
United Potatoes The first one is hard af. Hope this game is easier than the old one.
Yer they pretty much dropped the trailer and then a few weeks later released it
United Potatoes it was on there Facebook page that's where you'll find the marketing for most games nowadays
Yeah .. no not really. Facebook is dead ^^
New chanter They let you choose the difficulty and describe the hardest difficulty as "if you liked the challenge of the first game". So yeah the game doesn't have to be as hard if you don't want it to be.
The camera, main character design and some of the animations remind me A LOT of The Last Of Us
I think that it improved on 95 percent of the first game
zoro got lost again
I feel the progression system, though almost identical to the first game, allows you to level up faster and feels like you're doing a lot more with it.
obviously, you don't like this type of game. The review is ambiguous and a bit biased. it feels like you are just not into it.
Just like everyone of Jake's reviews unfortunately.
He sounds like he wants to hate on it, but is scared to let his opinion be known.
If you removed the animus sci-fi stuff and instead, this all took place within a town filled with the main characters personal experiences - you’d have a Silent Hill game.
Forget "Wait, before you buy!"
The game is a 10/10 go buy it right now!
YoungSavage it really is
The game is 4/10 for me cause i played the first one. Almost in every aspect it was better. Only the gameplay got better but the difficultys gone so its not very good imo

Enjoy this horrifying adventure!
The first one was way better. On the first one right when you get knocked out it starts to get scary as shit. Doesn't take a hour to start up
I don't think a lot of your points are fair criticisms.
EWI 1: lets make something new
EWI 2: lets make more money
(but its good game for killing some time, particularly for RE type of games fans)
The story was in no way shape or form bland, it probably flew over your head
Joshua Danielson
I didn’t find out how to use the walkie talkie thing till 2 days later. ._.

I loved the first Evil Within game. Can't wait to try this one out.
I have been totally blown away by this game. It improves many mechanics and features from the first one while still keeping the same atmosphere. Buy This game, you wont regret it!
10/10 the for me GOD DAMN is it good man
I'm probably an idiot and also haven't played the first one but why the hell is the main character always on left of the screen, not on the center.
And even if third person, it feels different than other similar games. Coz he's always on the left.
Sebastian Castellanos is a badass. One of my favorite video game protagonists.
Maybe that's just me relating to his grief and self blaming personality
Was there character in Sebastian in the first game I missed?

3 bosses
Am I hearing things, or did Jake just say that the new voice actors "aren't that great"?
Evil Within 2: Nominated best comedy game of the year.
The open environment aspect definitely reminds me of exploring raccoon city in re2 and re3, which makes me love this game even more.
Nothing to be scared of, just the direction this franchise is going. Feels like the new RE 6
This game was like a downgraded RE8.
Please play RE8 or first Evil Within instead.
The first evil within yes i'd steer clear of any new RE title that continues boring ass ethans story as a whole...infact i'd recommend evil within 2 over RE 8 cause it has more replay value...
@@Horde334 Evil Within 2 is just a boring game with no replayability. RE8 is miles better.
You feel downgraded .

I’ve just recently started to play this game buddy it gets 10/10 from me no micro transitions it’s perfect easily my best game now
Bought it on an impulse expecting it to be terrible.
Bought it on an impulse and was disappointed : )))
Call me a purest, but I just prefer the first one more. Had a more unique look and tone.
I like the origanl more than the second one
2nd game is better
what do you mean if we really needed? tell me what other game is doing THIRD person survival horror well.
Haxor inator disagree. First one was outstanding!
He didn’t play the first game. I bet Jake didn’t even touch the first game.
Mindcircus *cough* halo
It’s my game of the year personally for me! Some issues for sure but I pretty much loved every bit of my experience with this game
I’ve got this game buddy I’m debating to install it should I because I enjoy horror games
Couldn't have said it better.
raika r I explore every single thing and kill every single enemy in the area and only then I start doing the objectives.
Love how you can chose how to approach certain areas/objectives/enemies
I wish they never experimented with this title, some other title perhaps not this, this is how i rate them, Evil Within 2 score 4.3, Evil Within 1 score 9.3, out of 10/10

I enjoy Before You Buy over IGN and GameSpot. Jake Baldino does a great job explaining the highs and the lows of each title. Most of all, he doesn't shrink the entire experience down to a percentage score.
Just completed this game and loved every second of it. The creepiest moment for me was this ghost creature looking thing that would say youre name "sebastian!" And would have this creepy singing lullibye as you try to avoid it.
first time the voice came out of the controller was pretty chilling
I still felt compelled to see it through the end.
Started playing yesterday and I'm enjoying it a lot so far. The open world is fun to explore and you're now able to understand what is going on from the beginning. Way better game than the first one.
The first evil within had amazing atmosphere but a fking nightmare on normal difficulty. Good luck on Akumu btw
Steve Vanderslice you know that doesn't sound bad at all, I think a plot synopsis with that tag line would be fantastic
Break them.
Steve Vanderslice thanks for the advice, I'll try my best
The game precedes resident evil 2 remake by 2 years, and it succeeds in many similar aspects. It is indeed an underappreciated gem
This game was okay at best. Nothing special in it. The first game was better
i think you're right about some things. but honestly im seriously enjoying this game, they took all the criticism from the first game and and made it better, and the "slowness" of Sebastian is actually something i like a lot...it sorta creates this 'take your time' approach and actually makes me appreciate the scenery and atmosphere of the game. and i find the graphics jaw dropping. especially compared to the first. but thats my opinion. love your channel.. its practically the only game review i watch nowadays. great review as always keep it up
I bought this game on release and think it's awesome so different and better Charactor is better too
