I followed a guy from Oregon("what would they know about logging?") and he was pretty darn ecstatic after they had what initially was seen as devastating forest fires out that way. Apparently it helped dry out the wood making it far easier to log, de-bark and turn into board (in addition to many needing the money to rebuild so much was for sale and apparently on sale.) There's another guy out that way called "the Essential Craftsman" I think who does truly amazing work period on anything having to do with wood and carpentry. Great channel and fun to watch the progress over I imagine many Years now.

Mike & Melissa - I caught Melissa's grin and nodding of her head when you were showing the new tape measure. Loose translation, "Yup, another new toy for Mike." Made me smile. I love to watch to two of you working together - Love is grand. Blessings to you both, and to your family. Hi to Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.
Also, thanks to you, I was given the incentive to get my SimpliSafe system up and fully working before I left to come down to Florida away from the cold. It's been working flawlessly for me too, and I can check on things from down here. Thanks for the encouragement you gave in your praise of SimpliSafe.
I learned my lesson about throwing tools when I was a kid wrenching on my bike. I scraped a knuckle and threw the open end wrench at the concrete. It hit a groove in the concrete and bounced back up and hit right between the eyes. Never threw another tool after that. I do love it when you're troubleshooting and you find the problem and fix it easily.

Hi to you and the family from Scotland where the price of petrol (gas to you guys ) is currently averaging USDollars $7.85 !!!. That's why we don't run any big V8's here. You asked in an earlier video about your viewers occupation, well I'm a retired Transport Engineer these days involved in mostly the same activities as your good self barring your current building project. Weather here is currently 6C and "blowing a hoolie" from the west as they say in these parts. Being on the west coast most of the wild weather comes straight off the Atlantic. I do take note every time you say "well its a lovely morning here in western Pennsylvania" I usually comment in reply "well Mike it pouring it down here " all the very best to you and your family and keep up the good work. Hi Mike, I’d like to offer a suggestion for making your WoodMizer more efficient. Specifically, I’d suggest that you add a 12 volt solenoid valve to cycle on & off your blade coolant. You could tie it’s control to the same circuit that powers the blade. This would ensure that whenever the blade is running, the coolant is flowing. It will save you some coolant, and may just fend-off some carpel tunnel with all the sawing you do! Have a day!
Hey Mike, Good morning to you and Melissa. Don't let people criticising The way you say cold stop you from saying cold The way that you do. Don't let the critics make you self conscious. That is who you are. By the way our gasoline tax in Connecticut Is 25 cents per gallon At the moment.

I was about your age Mike when I finally broke down and got rid of all the reading glasses i had all over the house, but still could not find a pair when I needed them. Went and had my eyes tested and got regular glasses. What a difference, give in Mike. They are on all the time. You are not always looking for a pair and you see things you never seen before. Love that pine! Great material! Here in the south we don't use the local pine much except for barn siding (live edge slab). You ask the other day about our work history. I worked 40 years in the criminal justice field and then retired. Now I work in my hobby of forestry, hence my interest in your channel! You guys have a day! Kenny from Western NC!
Cool place you got going there. With a little fore thought you can make the log give you what you want. If you are sawing 4/4 then the last piece of wood sitting on the saw deck should be a 4/4 board, not a "whatever is left in the cant board " Also, opening the log up with 90 degree turns will yield you the highest quality first and seconds when sawing high value species

You talking about getting mad when something doesn't go right reminds me of a lesson my Dad taught me back when I was 8 or 9 & at the time I didn't even know he was teaching me. Mike - I take a larger waste cut (initial cuts) you can use that for firewood. I find I have less waste that way and use more of the log.
Great video Mike 🇺🇲 I really enjoyed this video very much 🇺🇲
Average price on regular unleaded is $2.699 right now in Hope Mills, NC. Wait for a day and it will be higher - - - - gotta love our D.C. People & State.

Glad that was an easy fix. That could of gotten frustrating to find. I am really thinking of purchasing a saw mill myself and yours looks like it has every option I would want. Keep up the good work!
Hi Mike, $5.39 per Gal. here on Vancouver Island, and only going higher. Time to start looking at electric I think.
Wish you could travel to the west coast and show Cody how much easier it is to use a woodmizer
Exactly what I was thinking 👍
I'm not sure you can show Cody much of anything. He knows pretty much everything anyway.
@@LostInThe0zone ain't that the truth.Iam a slob I guess cause I don't dress like MR CODY.lol
@@LostInThe0zone Or at least he thinks he does. He's in that "50s" stage of life where he's been around long enough to know he doesn't have all the answers but he can't help but telling you how to do it anyway.
@@jimsills4129 there's nothing wrong with sharing experiences that have helped you along the way. That could keep some from making costly mistakes.
But it is also important to remember that what works for you may not fit everyone's needs.
Mike, who I think is in the same age group as Cody, often points out that what he does works for him and may not work for you.
Machines are great...........when they work.

Mike, I got gas today at Sam's Club in Elyria, Ohio for $2.48 9/10. Most places in Lorain County are around $2.70 a gallon.

Mike, lumber is looking good. It's always a quick fix, when you think something major happened.

“... and I figured it out...” If I remember correctly, wasn’t there a lifeline call to Nathan? Nice planks and really appreciate the video after going through withdrawal yesterday! Marcus from Chesapeake VA.

Regular gas here in Missouri running around $2.47 , not sure about non-ethanol since I haven't filled my barrels yet for the summer , but need to get that done before it goes up any more . 😢
Going to be in the 60s here in Buffalo today
It's amazing our SUV is related to the Jeep Renegade Although it's marketed as an American sport utility, the Renegade subcompact crossover is actually a Fiat wearing Jeep styling cues. The littlest Jeep is almost mechanically identical to the Fiat 500X crossover hatchback, both of which are assembled in Melfi, Italy, and not in Jeep's historic factory in Toledo, Ohio.
