Nearly fell over when my grocery store's playlist changed to a little 70's/lots of 80's/bunch of 90's and this came on. I was singing along cleaning a chicken oven weirding out those not from Canada and those born mid 90's or later.
I like that. Makes them more special. Spotify is evil. It's more star-like and even punk rock to refuse to be a slave to algorithms and corporate fascists. This is magic!
I met Louise Reny while writing for a music magazine in 1988-89. She's an Angel herself! A VERY lovely girl who is just as sweet as she sounds in THIS song!!
My mother grew up in the 80s and every time she hears this song she dances. It’s easily one of my favourite songs too. Ever since I was a boy this song has put me in a good mood. It just sounds so happy and colourful. This song to me is what I think of when I think of the 80s
Leslie Howe, who was the brains behind One to One, is very underrated as a Canadian producer and songwriter. This is by far the best song he’s written but there are many others including those on the first 2 Alanis Morisette albums.
I always wished to get an autographed pic of them and they are one of my all time favorite bands. Their music is always great to listen to. Louise has a unique and lovely voice and she is angelic. Thank God for the 80's and growing up in them. Nowadays sucks!!
I was in Canadian tire a couple years ago and heard this for the first time in years too and was like holy fuck talk about a flashback song. Took me a while to find after but it was worth finding! Great song! Never gets boring! And what a voice she has!

Absolutely love this fantastic song! Amazing Melody and killer vocal! One of the best pop songs ever written and it deserved to be a bigger hit than it was
I went there too! It was the only place in the North End people would bother to go to! A good change of pace from going to Goose Loonies and Barry T's all the time.

Great video to my favorite One to One song. Recently heard this song on the radio for the first time in years. Brought back tons of memories, good memories. One to One rule, and this is a great 80's song. On the hunt for the very hard to find Forward Your Emotions.
Thanks for posting this. I remember this song back in the 80's on the radio, back around '86 & '87 as the copyright on the video says. A catchy tune, & definitely 80's :-). Brings back real good memories of my childhood, I was 9 yrs old when I first heard this. I don't think I could ever tire of this song....
Was just a minor blip for a couple of weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1986, peaking at just No. 92. Really fine and catchy tune. They had another single that also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in the early or mid 90’s that only made it to No. 95.
A reminder of the great 1980s. Bubble gummy. Romantic prelude. Love it. Wonderful but painful. Uplifting. Glad I grew up then. This can take me back to the Roxy in NYC. Thanks.
Louis Renee from Ottawa, Canada! I used to work with her, when we were all in high school, (some from Canterbury, some from Ridgemont) in her first group called Mainstream. She had an alright voice but had a lot of potential that we could see, so the sound man kept pushing the instruments volume so she had to try harder! Eventually had her singing from the diaphragm, the rest, as they say, was history!! That was around 1973-75 ish!
God, this song has memories... growing up in Canada during the 80s was an amazing time. Dunno why but the cat at the 16 second mark always brings a tear to my eye:-)
It's such an injustice that One 2 One never got the same recognition and success as No Doubt did in the 90's, even though she sounds just like Gwen Stefani.
I've always felt the same way. Granted No Doubt is a full band and One To One was just Louise and her boyfriend. But they did progress later on into Artificial Joy Club. But One To One had great production (for the time) and they had quite a bit of airplay in Canada, but for some reason never caught on Stateside. When they first came out Madonna was just a couple years into her stardom beginning, and Louise seemed to have that star power too, it's a shame they never were bigger.
John Cole It's because they're a Canadian band. I find iTunes ignores Canadian music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. And you're right that it's a great song.
John Cole Only way I was able to get this song was by ordering the album on CD when it "finally" was made (the group didn't opt to have this released on CD back in the day due to the medium being very new - not an uncommon thing with many groups then). Wasn't until well into the 2000s that "Forward Your Emotions" was made on CD. I ordered it from Amazon. I believe it's out of production now, but if you hunt around, you might be lucky to pick up a used copy.
I can listen to this song over and over and not get sick of it . I can’t get this song and artist on Apple Music 😢 man I love this tune . Brings back lots of memories
This album was re-released on CD this year. I just ordered myself a copy after wanting one for the last 15 years. Many of you had read my original comment from a couple of years ago when i had found a link online of someone who had copied a tape to CD & had made a link to download it. The link was blocked not long after that. And well the wait is over. "Angel (both versions)" & There was a time" is on the market again. Something about the sound of this album still sounds fresh to my ears.
Any other Canadians remember watching this on "Video Hits" after school? Gotta love an Ottawa-based synth-pop classic.

There was a show on the CBC from the mid to late 80's called "Good Rockin' Tonight". I taped many many Cdn songs from this show.
A perfect song. Love the ending vocals. Love this song.
Nic 😇Angle in My Pocket is on again!! -now!! 😢😲 They're playing it again..2 days in a row!! I miss you so much..and, all our good times 💕 🎤 🎶 🎶
Love, love this song 🎶. Always been my favourite. I have hard time downloading it on my phone so I can play it as much as I like to. 😊❤
It's such an injustice that One 2 One never got the same recognition and success as No Doubt did in the 90's, even though she sounds just like Gwen Stefani.
You mean Gwen Stefani sounds like her..
Curt Wakeman So true, especially since One 2 One was making music way before No Doubt.
_True af_
I've always felt the same way. Granted No Doubt is a full band and One To One was just Louise and her boyfriend. But they did progress later on into Artificial Joy Club. But One To One had great production (for the time) and they had quite a bit of airplay in Canada, but for some reason never caught on Stateside. When they first came out Madonna was just a couple years into her stardom beginning, and Louise seemed to have that star power too, it's a shame they never were bigger.
didn't they work work with alanis before she added morrisette and abandoned her canadian dance music era
What a cheerful song ! Can't get it out of my mind.
Yes it apiity of 80s k enjoy
Great song! Wish you could get it on iTunes. Wore this cassette out!
Thanks for the information, Brad. Much appreciated!!! I'll keep my eyes peeled!
John Cole I have this on mp3 if you want
Mina2304 Everyone ignores Canadian music. :(
I can listen to this song over and over and not get sick of it . I can’t get this song and artist on Apple Music 😢 man I love this tune . Brings back lots of memories
criminally underrated
Great voice. She sounds like a cross between Madonna, gwen Stefani, and perhaps Roxette. Very impressive!
Very true !
You mean Marie Fredriksson from Roxette as Roxette is a band
SEXY
Thing is this song came out before Gwen or Marie ever became famous. Canadian music mid 80's Ottawa.. 😉
I am surprised Gwen didn't use this song as her wedding song. Lol.
Mid 80s Canada music at it's best.
Realmente la musica es una maquina del tiempo,me transportó a mi juventud,años 80,ahora viviendo de los recuerdos, linda canción
Great song!!
